      Same thought. He got right into it. It’s a good dad who lets him explore and be part of it.

    Wow, I'm going to try this ! I don't want to mess with getting sawdust, sand, etc. if we don't need it.

    I dig mine up, pull off the old corm and put them back in the soil. I’m in zone 5 and I think it works. I plant 1000 tulip bulbs each year. I don’t bother digging them up. I just buy new. If any come back, ok.

    Hey, thank you for the video! I have a basement where it isnt that chilly during winter but it is a little humid. I suppose that would be a problem? Or extrs layer of paper for protection would do the trick? It worked for my canna bulbs.
    TIA

    So the new corm shouldn't have any roots on it after the old one is properly removed?

      @@ExpeditionHomestead do u know if I have to dig up a asiatic lily?
      This is my first year and I don’t know what to do
      Someone said let the green leaves die out always on their own to give back to the bulb the stuff they need . Photosynthesis?
      Idk
      But I know I have to split the bulb but I think that’s the second or 3rd year …
      Do I have to put the bulb in a paper bag to ?
      A biggggggg one what kind of mulch do I cover my bulbs with for the winter

    What about hyacinth bulbs? Should I leave them or dig them up?

      What zone are you in?

      @@ExpeditionHomestead ... I honestly don't know what zone I'm in but I live in Eastern Ontario ... I planted them in the spring (I got them as a flowering plant as an Easter gift) and they flowered a second time this fall now I'm not sure of what to do with them

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  5 років тому +1

      Most hyacinth varieties are helardy down to Zone three so from the sounds of it you should be OK. It is generally advised to cut off the flowers before they see though to make sure that more energy gets put into the bulbs

    Such a nice video! Your little one is so cute, he brought a smile to my face :3
    A question I have is what do I do with the tiny corms? Do I keep them attached to the big one or separate them?

    • @Pheonix1328
      @Pheonix1328 4 роки тому

      @Sean Wall I feel bad throwing them away so I'll plant them :3

    • @Millie7585
      @Millie7585 3 роки тому

      I saw some throw and some save them. Id save them, no harm in it..it can only evolve in a bigger corm, amirite?

      @@Millie7585 I planted them all, even the ones smaller than a pea. All the bigger ones grew two stalks but I don't know yet if they duplicated so fingers crossed.
      I didn't count but the vast majority of the small and tiny ones grew so I was quite surprised and now have a ton of them! (I started with six).
      At first I didn't think the tiny ones would grow since the bigger ones were up already, but after a while they popped and and I was quite happy :3
