Hi, I have a brand new DLE 30cc engine on my BH glasair and for some reason the carb is not taking in fuel thus the engine won't start… I tried putting in some fuel manually into the carb then fired the engine, it ran for a couple of seconds then died. Could you please guid me through this if you had the same problem ??? Thanks!
Hi Karl I had this problem, it is to do with priming the engine you need to block the small hole in the choke plate to create sufficient vacuum. If engine on a bench then a rubber gloved finger is ok to seal, but for permanence and to allow pimeing in the plane I put a small screw and nut in the hole with some silicone to achieve this, only prime with ignition off, you know when enough fuel is in carb as it comes out and drips through exhaust. Hope this helps as it is a brill engine.
Hi Got my kill switch from ebay sits between the low voltage switch on aircraft and the electronic ignition system use a 2nd 6v battery pack for the ignition system so not to drain receiver battery. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rcexl-Opto-Gas-Engine-Kill-Switch-RC-Gas-Engine-Parts-Accessories-Ignition-/272424590844 You can get wiring info from google search if not sure one of the kill switch wires goes to spare receiver channel ideally one of the aux switched ones, be careful not to knock switch off whilst flying though :-(
I love this engine, really cool and simple

Very helpful, Thanks
how loud is it in 25 metres away
No louder than a 120 size nitro 2 stroke,
That is how loud
Enough to REALLY f....g annoying at the flying field! DLE certainly knows NOTHING about muffler design!
