I live in Denmark and we have cold, dark and windy weather. Even when it’s sunny it’s usually still too cold to sit outside. It’s nice to have a shelter like a green house so you can get a bit of sunshine without freezing from the wind.

I really enjoy Lydia’s channel and videos but as someone who has suffered with depression it’s so clear to me to see that she’s not ok. I’ve been there - constantly changing things in the hope that it’s going to help you feel somewhat better inside but it never does. You can have all the money and the best of everything but nothing will ever fill that void. It’s sad to see because I used to be the same. What I realised the hard way is that at the end of the day when you’re truly happy in your life and marriage etc then none of the ‘stuff’ matters this much. It’s all driven by a desire for perfection and nothing is ever good enough. No hate, just hope she’s ok xx

Lydia, keep the greenhouse for one year before you put money into the underfloor heating and all the other (more expensive 🤣) things. You need to know the extreme temps it can get to, in the summer it could end up being super super hot. Even in the winter, if the sun is out and the sky is clear, it could be super hot! Then you will know if its actually needed or most likely it'll be quite hot most of the time!!

I’ve been watching Lydia for years and always seen her in the highest light. Recently discovered something that distorted that perception and it put so much into perspective. To anyone reading this these people we watch and follow online are flawed too. No matter how much they strive or display perfection, they’re human. No different to you or me. Perfection does not exist. As beautiful as a lot of what Lydia shows is, it’s also not a lot of people’s reality and she may have ‘things’ but we don’t know her life, what she’s going through, who she is behind closed doors or how she feels even with those things. So please be mindful when watching people online to not compare or feel like you have less because you don’t have what they have.
If you had it, you may not actually want it. Blessings all.✨

I do agree that perfection does not exist, however, if you think that about her, why spend time watching her videos and commenting on them. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. Totally opened up would look amazing and be square to suit the area. As for the cladding I would have carried the hallway design into the kitchen so it flowed through and put beams in the ceiling instead of the cladding. It would have looked more barn conversion and suited the area well.

a quick planting recommendation - rosemary is very invasive and will grow super quickly, which is lovely but it can get a bit much! I would recommend just the lavender for the border, perhaps with some buxus topiary intermixed, or maybe a low buxus hedge infront of it to prevent the lavender sagging too much into the path. 'French' lavender flowers longer than the English variety, so it might be worth looking into that variety

Plus washing/ cleaning off your garden veggies with out making a mess in your home . I also have the funniest sausage dog (Kevin) and A beautiful little beagle (Caroline) my loves. Please keep an eye on Porter. He is a hound and can't help himself picking up a scent putting his nose to the ground and taking off on an adventure . You are doing a wonderful job with your home. I literally had to stop the video when I saw Ali open the can with his teeth because I was so SHOOK. Oh.my.word. For the sake of your teeth, PLEASE NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. (I work in a dental office). Do you realize how many people crack their teeth from opening cans and bottles that way? It is hard to fix, and especially the front teeth because they have so little support. Sometimes, it's not even worth trying to fix--best case: you'll get a choppy filling, ruining your smile's aesthetic; worst case: you might end up needing extractions, implants, and crowns afterwards. It's just a nightmare for the patient, and infuriating for the treating dentist/orthodontist because it's something that could have been so easily prevented. Not to mention, possible infection occurring later on due to the trauma. You get a toothache out of nowhere and all of sudden you need antibiotics. Get a butter knife to pry open the tab if you don't want to use your fingers.
Your teeth, man, but seriously, you might want to consider being careful.

@@gabriellemadisonstudio I have to disagree here. It does appear there's a pretty repetitive behaviour indeed brushing over same topics - if it's not redoing the dressing room, it's the kitchen, if not the living room then it'll be the study and so on, but that only shows she's never happy with her choices which makes us doubt her "this is the best..." and "such a great quality such and such" which works on subconscious level to always want more and new and buy and buy and that is definitely not good for the planet and it's a bad advice really.

I have never been in a real greenhouse used to actually grow things that I couldn’t wait to get out of and back in the fresh air.. too stagnant and humid..that’s why the plants like to be in there. I certainly wouldn’t want to hang out in there. It’s more like a sunroom without air conditioning. And those clean glass panels will soon be cloudy!

True ship lap planks have a shaped lip so the upper plank over-hangs the lower plank, picture the side of a traditional wooden barn, barge or rowing boat. This makes ship lap very resistant to water. The clue’s in the name. Tongue and groove can be used horizontally or vertically. Each board has a tongue edge and a groove edge which slot/interlock together with no over-hang. It’s often used as panelling, wainscoting, flooring etc, picture a sauna.
