It's looking good. A couple heat shields on the exhaust to keep the mastery cylinder and oil cooler cool and maybe some tuning would both be good ideas.
Would be hilarious to see that beast rolling down the highway, i'm loving this thing and it also kinda sounds like an actual bike at idle. The one thing i would probably do is wrap that exhaust to contain the heat just in case
This is one of my favorite builds! You guys might want to put a heat shield on the brake reservoir next to the exhaust. I'd hate to see the brake fluid get too hot and keep you from having sweet sweet stopping power.
It is so weird to see someone "pushing" the accelerator pump with a twist grip. This build is turning out to be incredible. (I was going to say Awesome).
Wish i lived closer to you guys, I'd tune that thing for you. It's definitely making a lot less power than it should be. Sounds timing/ignition related.
@@penguiin12 I respectfully disagree. A properly tuned rotary makes more power per cubic centimeter/inch than a piston engine, and makes power all the way to redline. Plus, there's no sound like a rotary lol.
@@jmotorsports7509 i disrespectfully disagree, theres a reason every single supercar out there uses either electric+pistons or only pistons. obviously bugatti, fischer, mclaren all should have asked you first because a "rotary is better"... you have a bias because you think it sounds cool, but in actuality 99.999% of all engines on the planet are piston from lawnmowers to the fastest cars ever made
You don't need a oil cooler for the short runs that you do, they actually become oil heaters, lose that old 2 barrel carburetor and get a 4 barrel Holley set up for a rotary to wake it up, that 2 barrel has a small float bowl and is too small for that engine, a megaphone after that muffler will give it a different sound and fit well with the motorcycle theme
The first one ever, the barbie mustang was a 2 stroke 80, good times. It would be cool to see a newer one made though Edit: I guess I'm incorrect. I looked back and it was a crf 230... I could have sworn there was an 80 in there somewhere, owell

@@garthpaul6216 yeah, you can't hack your way through a rotary, especially when not fuel injected. They should move to fuel injection regardless, that carb is going taunt them, no amount of jetting is ever going to come close to what they'd get with even a shitty failsafe map going EFI.
Something I think you guys might find cool for this trike is that they make a conversion kit for the H-pattern shifters that makes it a sequential gearbox. I can't remember the name of it right now but one company makes them to mounted remotely that you could modify to be used as a foot shifter.
I subbed to Onewheel’s channel. I’d love to rip on my local trails on one of those! I love the builds you guys do, I keep looking at my son’s power wheels Jeep and daydream of its potential 😂.
Maybe building a collector on the header before the muffler, then running a single pipe back to a different muffler might give it some more power. I can't imagine there is much scavenging with the way it is now.
They may be unaware of the concept, now that I think about it. Is scavenging a thing on a wankel? Isn't each compartment isolated? So the exhaust drawing out wouldn't pull a vacuum through the cylinder.
@@Gcrilla Yes, they do have overlap between the exhaust and intake strokes in each chamber. Quite a bit actually, which contributed to their poor economy, and inability to meet current emissions standards. If the engine has any porting work done to it, the overlap becomes worse, just like putting a large cam in a normal 4-stroke engine. Proper exhaust scavenging will yield a big benefit on a Wankel.
@@davelowets that's awesome! I know very little about wankels honestly. If the overlap is like you say it, then a proper exhaust system would be hugely beneficial, also like you said.
@@Gcrilla Maybe they are unaware of it. I would like to see them rebuild the header, and see the power difference. I'm not a guru of Wankels, but I've built some nasty V-8's. I think with a better header design, it would definitely make a "seat of the pants" difference in power. With a typical built V-8, an open header collector with about 18" of pipe attached to it seems to be the sweet spot for the best average power production. There is an old trick of putting a longer pipe on the collector, then painting a white line on it, and then make a good pull with the engine. Where the white line quits burning off, you cut the pipe off there for best performance. That's where the "Slug" of hot exhaust starts to cool and the scavenging effect stops being effective, so any extra pipe after that would be a hindrance to scavenging. I've never done it on a Wankel, but I would expect it to work the same.
