      In order for stockfish to be perfect, it’d need to calculate every possible chess game from start to checkmate/stalemate. That’d take even a supercomputer literal eons to calculate, so since that’s not feasible, it can definitely be beaten.

      There are more possible combinations of chess games than there are atoms in the known universe, and by a huge amount. (Estimated between 10^78 and 10^82 atoms in the universe vs estimated between 10^111 and 10^123 possible move combinations in chess.) For anyone wondering why white didn’t take the black rook on A5 it was because if the black rook wasn’t on the 2nd file white had mate in 3: queen takes knight on G2, king forced to take the queen on G2, knight to H4 checking the king forcing him back into H1, pawn to G2 checkmate. Would’ve got a queen sacrifice pawn checkmate after making two brilliant moves.

    • @chinmayaprakash
      @chinmayaprakash 3 роки тому +66

      If White plays Rxa5, leaving the second rank, then Black can checkmate the white king with a forced sequence, starting with a queen sacrifice: Qxg2+ capturing the white knight. White has only one legal response, Kxg2. Black will then put the white king in check by playing Nh4+, using the knight on g6. White has only one legal response and that is to go back to h1. Black can now finish the game with g2# as the pawn is protected by knight on h4.
      FYI, this position is derived from King’s Indian defence for black and is immediately recognisable to those who use it regularly. Multiple piece sacrifices, and even a queen sacrifice, is a common theme for aggressive players using King's Indian defence to force open the white king’s defences and checkmate it by force. You just saw this tactic involving a double rook and then a queen sacrifice.

But if your comment was out of genuine frustration, in simpler terms, if white rook captures black rook, then black queen takes white knight and puts white king in check. White king captures black queen. The lower of the two black knights puts white king in check, and the king has only one square to go to-back to the square where it was before it captured the black queen-and after that, black pushes its top-most pawn one step forward to checkmate the white king. The pawn is protected by the knight which black moved in the previous step, and so cannot be captured by the white king.

    The reason it's a brilliant move is because it's a draw. Queen takes the rook and black rook takes pawn on H - file. If white rook takes the rook, there is checkmate in 3 with queen sarcrifice. White has to go back with rook and in the end the position is -0.72 for black

    When you're learning chess, there's a point somewhere, a threshold of knowledge (or, rather said, a gradient) that you're fully understanding what's happening on top of the board. Seeing moves in the future, branches of possible outcomes.
    A mental flow, a continuous current of thoughts, almost like a really big river crossing through your mind.
    Sometimes you loss track of time, sometimes you're that focused on the board, that you stop seeing your surroundings, the only input that you're processing is the board and the pieces, the rest doesn't even exist anymore until the clock rings.
    But sometimes happens the unexpected. A single move, most of the times stupid at first sight, others, almost impossible to see or consider, but that breaks all the schemes in your head, forcing you to think twice your next move. A sudden stop, that moment when your brain goes "WAIT..... *that* actually works".
    That's exactly the moment represented in this video, the lateral thinking, the outside the box move, the eureka moment.
    Yes, chess can be that intense when you take it seriously.

    wait wat
    why is Rxh5 not the best move at 0:29 for white
    and how is the first brilliant move not blundering rook
    Why is giving a free rook to the opponent brilliant

    • @davidlk96
      @davidlk96 3 роки тому +1

      It’s because the first move sets up the second move. If the queen takes the first rook, it no longer protects the pawn. So the rook can take the pawn on the second move
