Hello friends!
In today's video I am unboxing some rain & bug screes for the Promaster. I ordered these from Van-Screens in Montreal, Quebec here in Canada. They have screens for Sprinter and Transit vans as well. Last year I used mesh screens that slide over the door and they were not only too small but really didn't work well. So this summer I wanted something that would not only work better for bug control but also allow me to have ventilation even when it's raining. I really like these and can't wait to used them this summer.
I purchased these with my own money and this isn't a sponsored video.

Ha!!!! I love your Kids In The Hall reference!!!!!!!
"Crush you" 😂😂😂
Those look great and very useful!! I think the hard poly is a better thing than metal … as you noted, they will not rust. And probably not scratch anything should you drop, etc. I hope I can find them in the US Amazon. It has been snowing here in NW Montana … evenings, overnight, early morning. Thankfully no accumulation, but very welcome moisture!
Oh not more snow!? 🙄😁
@@myBIGtinyhouselife I don't mind the snow or cold (HATE heat!!) as long as it doesn't snow heavy and break trees!
Hey, no Van-screen products on Amazon, but it looks like the company will ship to US although probably there are import duties and who knows about shipping time. Still, after some searching, it looks like those are the very best option.
I'd send them a message to ask how it works if they ship to the US.
Looks like a premium product, but at a premium price. Would be nice if the louvers could collapse so that the units could be stored flat
Looks like a great product - hope it works out for you. I checked their website to see if you could get them with only one or two openings if you didn't need or want as much air flow - unfortunately they only seem to come in the 3-vent option. Once you've had a chance to see how they work, you may or may not want to advise the company that it might want to consider manufacturing 1, 2 or 3 vent units.
The cheap net ones were kinda funny. The expensive ones are attractive and quite sporty looking
I agree. The net ones might work well in a car or SUC. The van windows are just so big 🤷🏻♀️😁
They look great. Snow😮😮😮😮😮😮
🤷🏻♀️😁
Those would be a fabulous addition to my van. Unfortunately, having a 1994 Class B, I never seem to find items like that to fit my windows. Your van is really coming together nicely Adelina! 💛🌷
Thanks 😊
Exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you.
☺️
Those look fantastic!
Yes😁
Great product! Love that
Sad they don’t have them for my vehicle.
those vents, though pricey, are quite appealing - just need to be able to store when not in use
Great looking vents, nice choice. Hope your doing well. Look forward to more van mods.
Thanks Tracy 😊
Love the window inserts. Just a quick tip re: the reflectix window shades you made earlier. If you haven't already made the shade for the windshield, try cutting holes like the size of a quarter in 3 spots in the middle of you paper template sheet. Then press paper onto the windshield and put painter's tape across holes to secure the paper to the glass while you are pressing the edges of the paper to define the exact shape of the windshield. This way you won't have to struggle to hold the entire sheet in place while forming the template.
Well....I sure wish I'd had that good advice before I did that project! LOL. Don't laugh at me too much when you watch this Sunday's video 🙏🏼🤷🏻♀️😂
@@myBIGtinyhouselife No laughing here. I'm too busy learning from you, and being inspired by you.
Good video. Nice product - if it were half the price. $275 is totally "rediculous" for a plastic part, IMHO. Starting to think any after market van products are marked up by at least 200%.
Those rain and screen inserts appear to have a nice tight fit. Hope they do work well for you. I wish they offered those for my Chrysler Pacifica mini camper van set up.
Thanks. Maybe they'll expand their selection someday.
I have the pullover screens similar to the first set that you purchased. Mine slide over the large windows on both sides of my sliding side doors. But the screens I have are tight and full window coverage from top to bottom. They are a single screen, instead of a full envelope like yours. They have a velcro strap that snugs them up at the inside bottom. They have to be designed this way to compensate for the brackets for the sliding door mechanisms. So, the screens work well. However, no rain protection, like your new ones. I bought a couple of gutter guards. Plastic with a pretty tight mesh behind them. I could have fit those. But would have had to fabricate some angled deflectors to prevent any rain ingress like yours incorporates. I might still try something using the gutter guards and solid piece of plastic epoxied at an angle to deflect the rain, in the future. Like yours, the top would slide into the widow channel. And the bottom had a ‘U-Shaped’ channel design that would sit on top of the window, itself. I could use tin snips to shape the gutter guard to any angles of the opening. They were Less than $3 for a 6” high by 48” long piece. And, I believe I could make them look decent. I might give it a try, in the future.
Great window product. You’re van is very nice. Excited for you.
Thanks Beverly 😊
you are adorable 🎉
I wonder if you can drive with those on. Very nice!
No, they are not safe to use when driving.
@@myBIGtinyhouselife 🤷♀️😊
That's a sporty upgrade. Van Go. Get it? 😆
😂❤️
@@myBIGtinyhouselife my wit didnt formulate as I intended in the message. Your van is a work of art, a creation we get to see develops. I thought it should have a name also. It is a sharp looking van. You've done a great job. I am currently installing quarterround over newly placed flooring. If it was a tiny house I'd be through by now! Only a few dozen more cuts then to redo the walls. I'm not as young as you but I'm determined as you. Keep up the good work. 👍
Keep up the good work.
That's amazing. Determined is the most important thing to be. With that we can do anything ❤️😁
COOL BEANS!!!
😁❤️
The new ones provide more security. The others someone can easily cut and reach in or open the door. Would like a pair when traveling with pets but don't have a van.
Any more van trips planned?
Hi Susan, yes I can't wait to get out on the road this summer.😊.
Guess if you wanted to you would have to remake the window covers again to fit the bottom half of the window.
I'll just fold the top half down and secure it down with Velcro I think.
Ugh... snow 😒 My condolences
😁 thanks
Those look great. Definitely seem more effective and aesthetically pleasing quite honestly than the slip covers. Just out of curiosity, do they come with a storage bag?
They don't but they fit into a large fabric grocery bag. I'm going to suggest a storage bag to the manufacturer.
I bought something like that for my Ford Transit and they are metal but they're plastic coated so I'm wondering if yours are too cuz it looks almost exactly alike.
Mine are fabric
Snow?!? It’s 102 degrees here today! (39C).
Wow🥵!
Those look awesome. Im not sure if I missed it, but what’s the of the company you purchased from? Is there a Website? Thanks Stay safe…
The link is in the show notes under the video.
@@myBIGtinyhouselife Thank you
@@myBIGtinyhouselife Wow I just used the link you provided and notice they sell a Mosquito Curtain as an added accessory for those screens. Thanks again!
Yes they do. I've also suggested to them that they might want to include a storage bag.
👍🏾💯❤️. Hugz
😊
Can u drive with em
With what?
How's your search for a parking place on Vancouver island coming along? Haven't heard you mention it lately. Safe travels when you head out for more searching.
It's going really well. I'm not ready to share but looking good 🙏🏼😁❤️
