I liked this video, but i recently read "Of a good life" (i dont know the exact translation to english), in which Seneca makes multiple remarks against women. For example, when talking about anger, he says "If your father angers your, remember he wants the best for you, when a young boy angers you, forgive him, for he is young, when a woman angers you - her gender forgives her". He also describes virtues as "manly" and pleasures as unmanly.
Seneca and others have a lot of wisdom but the only reason i dont regard them as geniuses like some academics may is that i see them as above average intelligence people who couldn't get over their own conventionality. Do your own unbaised research on the topic.
They talk from a place of privilege... I m not saying the main message is not good or healthy. To live within nature and embrace your destiny(ACCEPTING SOMETHINGS) is an overall good point, but they were all blindsided by their social position. "a slave is a slave a woman is a woman a white greek is a white greek" To say that aspire for a better world and working for it is futile... is just lazy talk.
