Imagine being so passionate about the sciences and math, that you dedicate your time to making videos for anyone to access for free, so that they too can learn and understand. That is humanity
@Azula pretty sure he meant free of charge, he would still make money if he posted his videos on a site that charges money. But he posts them on UA-cam where anyone could watch them, both ways he'd make profit. But it's cool that's we could just access it
@Azula Yes, he does benefit from it. I never said he didn't. However, a large amount of his content is accessible for free by anyone who can access the internet, which he doesn't have to do. It gives him publicity, but I bet the majority of the viewers just use the free content and I'm sure he knows that. He's probably monetized but how does that make it less humanitarian or generous?
@@supriyosardar5511 Yes, I'm aware of that. My point is that its nice of him to put content on UA-cam where a large portion of that content can be viewed by people with internet access.
@@cassied9327 can't believe people are arguing with you about how you pointed out that he is being a human and not posting his lecture in a website that charges every month. Our world is a mess

Same lol
as a person who never formally studied organic chemistry i view chemists in very high regard. yall are like wizards to me. the power of your knowledge and skill is commendable. I think organic chemistry should be more encouraged in our culture. it amazes me how little most people know about chemistry. in fact most people are afraid of "chemical" yet are completely unaware that pretty much everything they see and touch is made of atoms arranged into chemical structures. the world we live in is made of chemistry. and chemists are the wizards that can rearrange the very fabric of the world we live in.

Dear OC Tutor, i had to visit a course about organic chemistry at university. I hated it and I failed the final exams twice. Failing a third time woul´ve meant that i had to stop my current studies and maybe start something else, the university simply would´nt allow me to continue with my current subject. So, after failing the second time I was nervous. One month to go until exams nr. 3. I stumbled upon your channel. I watched this video and it already helped me to understand some topics that i did not understand up to that point. I decided to study by simply watching your videos, listening to your explanations and trying to solve the examples that you give throughout your videos. You know what? I passed. Even 2 grades better than expected. I am so relieved and you as well as your channel made that possible for me. You helped me a LOT. Thank you so much!

This is so awesome. I love that you have him credit. Let’s keep him prayed up❤
That's basically the story of my college life, except I never passed these Orchem subjects and had to changed the university... Some seniors and professors being snob didnt help either.
love how after all of his guidance on every subject under the sun, we finally get his namesake
i'm so scared for organic chem this semester, i'll definitely be watching every video in this playlist!
I’m right here with u
ME TOO
Yeah I’m in the same hoat
Agreed man! I am in the same boat. Hope we all can pass!
How did it go
A video about organic chemistry about a guy literally called The Organic Chemistry Tutor shouldn't be this surprising 😮
Believe it or not, he's pretty well known for his Calc videos.
Read your bible! (KJV, preferably) ♥
You are a pure genius! I want to thank you for teaching Organic Chemistry in a way I can understand it, I was clueless. I know I will pass Organic Chemistry with flying colors. I will be back in December 2023 and post my final grade. Keep me in prayers guys and good luck to all. He is a beast!!!!!
good luck
I wish you the best of luck
good luck!!
Update??
You're amazing
The miracle to my chemistry.
I pray God blesses you more with strength, will, knowledge and peace with happiness
You did that for me in chemistry.
This Guy is My hero I lost Faith in Physics,Chemistry and Math during High school but this Guy restored the faith in Me Thanks so much organic chemistry tutor
The hope I have when I hear this voice 🥺thank you for making my life so easy.
I wanted to point out, in the event that this was not covered by someone else's confusion, that a hydrogen bond is an electrostatic interaction (either intra- or intermolecular) whereby a hydrogen bound to an electronegative atom like O, N, or F (called the h-bond donor), interacts with another electronegative atom (called the h-bond acceptor). The bond holding the hydrogens to oxygen in H2O are not hydrogen bonds; they are simply polar covalent bonds. The electrostatic interactions between adjacent water molecules, however, would fall in the realm of hydrogen bonds. Hydrogen bonds themselves are not covalent interactions, but rather a special type of electrostatic interaction known as Van der Waal's forces. I found this confusing when first viewing this video, and wanted to help anyone else who may be viewing it with similar confusion.

Vital comment. Well said, cheers
im just studying this for fun because i used to be a chemical compounder for 3 years at a pharmacy, high practical knowledge, forgot most theory over time. do you have any resources you'd recommend? thanks!
I think for general purpose theory, you cannot go wrong with the “Dummy” books on chemistry (Chemistry for Dummies), so on. They are really great for introducing topics but keeping it light and entertaining.
Exactly! Thanks for clarifying
Actually, hydrogen bonds aren’t considered van der Waal forces, even tho they are a dipole dipole interaction they don’t fall under that category
I loved Organic Chemistry and am sad I forgot a lot of it (took 3 years of it in undergrad). This video is a great refresher to remember some of it :)
Damn how many classes are there for 3 years of it

Dear sir i don't know how to thank you , but i have a huge respect and love for you . I am currently a standard Xll student and i knew nothing about organic chemistry before these videos . I wanna thank you sir a millions of times .our teachers in the class didn't teach the basics and they just say to memorize the whole organic chemistry. Sor today i gonna know what is polar bonds and when carbon forms double and triple bonds . Thank you sir, lots of love to you and your family. Love from india 🇮🇳
Wish I'd known about electronegativity values, specifically the 0.5 difference for polarity etc. Rather than just being told it just is, when studying in 6th form. More depth to a subject actually makes it easier to learn not less. Best Tutor on UA-cam!
I have never seen an explanation that simple yet effective. Great work man!
after years of watching the organic chemistry tutor for gen chem and math, i am finally watching an organic chemistry video. a real full circle moment.
I am taking organic chemistry in high school and I pretty much learned most of this, but I must say it’s explained better in this video! Good and educational video!
I always enjoy your videos. They're so clear and straightforward! I've had way too few chemistry teachers explain things this well. Great job!
I really hate online class because it suuper boring then i accidentally fell asleep during chemistry lecture about organic chemistry but then THIS video appears damn I'm blessed
Man, this is so helpful. I have struggled with chemistry in the past but thanks to you, I am finally understanding the materials. Thanks a lot!!!
Man I love this guy. The first time I have understood organic chem.

Thank you so much with your explanations the great man😊😊😊😊
I'm confused at 36:33, why wouldn't both the oxygen's be double bonded to the center carbon atom?
Edit: NVM that would cause the carbon to have 6 bonds.
No it a standard that part of a function group known as Alcanonate (esters)
It will cause 5 bonds for carbon
And also carbon doesn't have any lone pair to form the fifth bond...
Thank god this exists, Spring 2024 i’m taking an orgo chem class called “Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry” or CHEM 130, luckily it’s not 2 semesters of this but i’m so happy that i’ll be able to look into these videos once I start the class 😄
