Im so grateful I got to grow up in the 90's. The times were different. People were different. They interacted with each other instead of being glued to their cell phone. The 90's just had a certain vibe and feeling to it that can't be explained, you just had to be there. But for those of us that were there, it will never be forgotten.

By 1994 I was 38 and wasn't too much into new music but when I heard a rare awesome song on the radio I had to add it to the collection. This was definitely one of them. Love it's amazing beat and her amazing vocals. This is both an amazing song to hum to sleep and to wake up to in the morning. Linn Berggren's voice gets a hold of the heart and stays there. Both sisters are amazing.
Ace of Base is one of those very few bands that seems to have consistently one good song after another, even with full albums where every song is great! And they are the test of time in the fact that these songs sound better than ever and never get old! So many memories throughout the years associated with their majestic music!
I think the reason for this is that they didn't really care about making hits and money. Artists these days only wants number one hits, and their goal is to get as much money as possible. They rely on trendy things, and they almost never put their soul into their work. They just force it, kind of. Often times they make songs that are annoying or just straight up weird. They want their song to get stuck in your head, they want you to either love or hate it so that you decide to click their music video or just google the artist so that they get more views/clicks/exposure. Trendy things doesn't age well, neither does annoying songs etc. A joke gets old after a while you know... Also this destroys mainstream music because now other artists need to top this sh!t with something even more annoying etc. We only end up with pop songs that just tries to get your attention. Songs about shaking your butt, what an animal sounds like... what is this Ace of Base was all about having fun, they didn't really care about trendy things, instead they did their own thing, they made their own sound and that's why it doesn't get old, it's genuine. That's why they are so good, they still make people smile, even now about 30 years later. Same thing with Abba, Michael Jackson, Queen etc. It's rare to see artists like this. We don't have anyone like that in 2021, everything is just heavily manufactured and soulless. A pop star today is not about talent, it's more about what you look like and if you allow people to use you as a money maker. Of course you need to be able to sing too, but often times you just need to be average because they have people who can make you sound perfect by manipulating your voice etc. It's like a factory, massproduced.
@@magoria1382 Indeed! You summed it up pretty well. The most fascinating thing about Ace of Base is also how they never knew or expected where their success would lead to in all of this, so everything of their talent was completely innate. Down to even many of their styles and the ambience which gives them a signature "branding" in the Music, and this is something that has been under attack in the Music Industry and especially with what the Record companies want. The amount of different moods and when The history behind the whole deal of how their influence in America was challenged by some of the ridiculous demands of the American ways and Recording Studios here. I respect everything so much about all of their members. In the reflections and interviews that Ulf had given about the Band’s course of history and how things evolved over time for them, I admire that he and even Jonas explain things exactly as they are, and never try to be or seem as something they aren’t. Ulf also rightly criticized how the “American Music Scene” was in comparison to the Swedish Culture of doing things, and noted very astutely about how Money-oriented everything is in America, in every sense of the word, and how ridiculous the contracts with the record companies here are. While Jealousy is a natural human emotion, there is a particular very toxic form of it that permeates the fabric of every aspect of life here, and to where it cannot accept something to the level of perfection like Ace of Base in their most natural and uninhibited form. You can know for certain that if it was an American band, that they would try to make anything, even an exit of a member, or a disbanding of a group to seem to look “better” than the true story of what happened, or adjust everything to the likeness of “Trendy / Acceptable” Culture. What you state is true about all the current Modern Bands. For example, even if a Modern Pop singer comes out, you will never hear some unique style of their own in singing with their vocal inflections, or an ambient masterpiece the way Ace of Base has done things, such as like in “Happy Nation”.

I use to ride a bus almost daily across the bay near San Francisco on the buses back in early 2000 and the bus driver played this entire CD on repeat every time he picked me up. I started to fall in love with the words and the beat. I eventually started to sing along with the bus driver when he drove me and my baby across the town and eventually others on board sang along with us. I'M ALSO LISTENING TO THIS SONG IN 2019!! "Ace of Base" was one of my FAVORITE 90s groups. Watching "FULL HOUSE" brought me into listening to their music!! Their songs brought some of the BEST memories in my life!! I'm VERY happy I got to experience the 90s since there were GREAT groups like this one to enjoy when I was in school. The memories will live on FOREVER!!
Reminds me of working at a small amusement park in Southern California where we listened to the same 40 songs all day, every day. Of course, this was on that list.
The year was 1993 and I was 17 years old when this awesome song came out. Every time I heard this song, it reminded me of this beautiful girl I had a crush on around my neighborhood. I’m 45 now and still love Ace of base! ❤️ 😂 Good and innocent times.

I am from India and in 90s it was very difficult to get access to English music as it was not very popular in small towns. But I consider myself fortunate that I was exposed to such great music and I still remember the effort required to get these albums as it was not available in the entire town. But it was worth it and worth the nostalgia 😊
Me encantaban.
I met a girl on a beach when I was young on vacation with my parents. Her name was Kelly. We connected and sparks flew. Her Grandma had a condo next to the hotel we had on the beach, so we spent the whole week together and on the last night when I had to leave, I have her a final hug and I played this song over and over because I was so upset we had to part. 😭
Solo puedo decir Muchas Gracias!!!
I find myself critiquing older videos, checking the details, looking for flaws, incessantly comparing them to today's video standards. These were impeccably good videos that stand the test of time. We were young and indestructible.
Its a good group but you must still recognize that Many of his most famous songs have been written and also performed by singers from the USA like this one for example it is from Tina Turner 1988.
I remember the 15 birthday of my older sister. All her friends were dancing Ace of Base, and thus I grew up listening to them through the 90's: parties, vacations, barbecues, school projects, etc. All of them had their music accompanying me as I grew up and made memories. Thank you so much for your music ❤.

Summer of '94, 10 years old...everyday listening to this on cassette players outside playing with friends. Wanting to play them, we fought over who got to be Lynn and Jenny lol. Those were the days...
This is era music in that not many in posterity will pick it up as timeless. But for exactly this reason, it is timeless - to those 90s xennials who lived through Ace of Base and can claim it as their own. You can only understand this nested in a time and place. It’s like our generation’s secret, in a way.
Trying to get a date for my memory of an event via this song. Good Nostalgia, the summer between leaving primary school for secondary school. The choice between the school that the girl i liked a lot was going to go to near the council estate or the one that was in a safer area (i didn't get on well with some of the bullies around there lol)
Bullies have it real badly behind closed-doors as we have all grown and even survived from some stories, to know the vicissitudes of the push-pull and cause-effect especially with the integrity of a mind's own social AND business infrastructure, yes. (I enjoyed your comment, yes!)

Jeff O nice thanks for the info.
So many memories of my childhood. Good times. God bless you my friends
Minha adolescência ouvindo Ace.❤ Hoje com 47 anos.Muitas saudades😚😁
I'M ALSO LISTENING TO THIS SONG IN 2019!! "Ace of Base" was one of my FAVORITE 90s groups. Watching "FULL HOUSE" brought me into listening to their music!! Their songs brought some of the BEST memories in my life!! I'm VERY happy I got to experience the 90s since there were GREAT groups like this one to enjoy when I was in school. The memories will live on FOREVER!!

Reminds me of working at a small amusement park in Southern California where we listened to the same 40 songs all day, every day.
Of course, this was on that list.

Yes.
They were so ahead of their time. Still sounds fresh in 2024.
Wow! Unbelievable 😮 every song is a hit. 2023 and so great music.
Such a fantastic summer memory though!! ❤
Solo puedo decir Muchas Gracias!!!
It’s 2024 & this song is still in my playlist

I find myself critiquing older videos, checking the details, looking for flaws, incessantly comparing them to today's video standards. These were impeccably good videos that stand the test of time. We were young and indestructible.
One of the best songs of the 90s

Its a good group but you must still recognize that Many of his most famous songs have been written and also performed by singers from the USA like this one for example it is from Tina Turner 1988.
I remember the 15 birthday of my older sister. All her friends were dancing Ace of Base, and thus I grew up listening to them through the 90's: parties, vacations, barbecues, school projects, etc. All of them had their music accompanying me as I grew up and made memories. Thank you so much for your music ❤.
A whole life since this song come out.
I just almost forgot how many lives can a human being can live within one.
Good times. In a way missed ones.
If you want to leave
I won't beg you to stay
And if you gotta go darling
Maybe it's better that way
I'm gonna be strong
I'm gonna do fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
Just walk out that door
See if I care
Go on and go now but
Don't turn around
'Cause you're gonna see my heart breaking
Don't turn around
I don't want you seeing me cry
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart
That you're leaving
I'm letting you go
But I won't let you know
I won't let you know
I won't miss your arms around me
Holding me tight
And if you ever think about me
Just know that I'll be alright
I'm gonna be strong
I'm gonna do fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
I will survive
I'll make it through
I'll even learn to live without you
Don't turn around
'Cause you're gonna see my heart breaking
Don't turn around
I don't want you seeing me cry
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart
That you're leaving
I'm letting you go
But I won't let you know
I wish I could scream out loud
That I love you
I wish I could say to you
Don't go
As he walks away he feels the pain getting strong
People in your life they don't know what's going on
Too proud to turn around, he's gone
Don't turn around
'Cause you're gonna see my heart breaking
Don't turn around
I don't want you seeing me cry
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart
That you're leaving
I'm letting you go
Baby don't turn around
Don't turn around
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart
That you're leaving
I'm letting you go
Don't turn around
Ajudou muito pouco ,colocar a letra

Summer of '94, 10 years old...everyday listening to this on cassette players outside playing with friends. Wanting to play them, we fought over who got to be Lynn and Jenny lol. Those were the days...
This is era music in that not many in posterity will pick it up as timeless. But for exactly this reason, it is timeless - to those 90s xennials who lived through Ace of Base and can claim it as their own. You can only understand this nested in a time and place. It’s like our generation’s secret, in a way.
@@unnamed2288 This music is very good beautiful.
Trying to get a date for my memory of an event via this song. Good Nostalgia, the summer between leaving primary school for secondary school. The choice between the school that the girl i liked a lot was going to go to near the council estate or the one that was in a safer area (i didn't get on well with some of the bullies around there lol)
😂
Bullies have it real badly behind closed-doors as we have all grown and even survived from some stories, to know the vicissitudes of the push-pull and cause-effect especially with the integrity of a mind's own social AND business infrastructure, yes. (I enjoyed your comment, yes!)
Life is neat! Hope you find the best past connection for yourself
