- Original Tamiya LUNCHBOX Fleamarket find a unbelievable find under a table I recognized this instantly as I walk up the sell said the battery was charged and he had just tried it I plugged it in and it fired right up so I bought it immediately here is the unboxing thanks for watching filmed with my Samsung s22 ultra and edited with powerdirector pro

Man!!! What a find!!! So cool it is all in running order and I am super surprised they would let it go if he was just out playing with it! I am kind of torn on what to do with the body... personally I would use the spare chrome bits, buy a new body and windshield set and do a custom shelf body and keep that one as a runner and story piece. Search for Hobby Monstrocity and their site has great prices on re-re bodies and parts for the LB (and others). Congrats on the really amazing find, that is some RC lottery stuff right there!! I am working on collecting the old parts needed to do my retro build with to display with my vintage one that is staying in the box. Please flip those tires around though!! Thanks for the shout out and I would drive that one too!

This is a very good deal !! Great this lunch box, and in addition it has the manual control in good condition, it's very rare. So you are right to leave everything original and run it once or twice. It's a collectible lunch box now 👌

Super nice find Brent! What are the odds of you finding one of these old relics a week after Addams awesome gift video from the Rc Elf! I would say 1 in a thousand!😝 Any how I would either leave the body as it is or paint the body flat black and load it up with 80’s decals. I’d love to see you run it out side for a rip! I know the plastics get a little on the brittle side when they’re this old , but I’d still take it for a run every now and again. Funny about the Bearing on the outside of the wheel!😝😂think those Chevrons are facing the wrong direction… to my eye anyway. Brilliant find and awesome share buddy! Take it easy!👊🏼🤘🏻😊😝

Great deal Brent👍👍👍. This car looks like it never has been driven. Please check the wheel connectors and the gera housing where axles are connected with the cecenter gear. Sometimes there appear cracks in those areas. My suggestion, repaint it in what ever colour you like, but repaint it and please use the old technology inside😉

Nice, as soon as you see the skinny steering rods you know it's an early one and the old charger. The spare bumper you first got out is off a Grasshopper. But still running 4A battery pack, I remember getting for mine the BEC switch Tamiya brought out 12 down to 8 batteries and today lucky people only need 4 :-) The spare chrome, LOL I had loads of them as went through many body pins, so nice I have alloy ones on my runner. For the restoration a hard one, if you have a yellow one I would do something different on this or swap bodies with your other Lunchbox if you want this one classic.

@@AdventureTimeRC I would do the same, then you do not worry if you roll it. But I can say I have never broke the Lunchbox body, but did take the front panel and half the wing off my cousins Pumpkin :-) with it.
Lol the lunchbox body is strong I'm mounting one to a RIPSAW tank now lol should be a fun project

I got one of these from a friend who runs a trash route ,all it had was a motor and rolling chassis, no body or other electronics,it had a homemade wooden wheel hex on the rear and still does lol ,works great on stock motor and xl5 esc

I remember, in the 80s, really envying the guys who could recharge their NiCads in the truck or car, and go again. I had 2 NiCads, and when they were done, I had to go home.
I'm not usually all that bothered, about box art, but as you have an original set of stickers, perhaps you might want to paint the body yellow.
I wonder why the previous owner fitted the wheels to the wrong sides of the chassis so that the tyres are the wrong way round?

Holy cow, steal of the year man! I'm surprised it didn't come with a envelope of money in the bottom of the box! My 2 cents on the paint is a classic like that should be restored to the o.g yellow , especially considering you have the original decals. It always make me puke a little when people run chevron tires backwards, they perform worse in every way and the kind of people that run them backwards always have some dumb reason for it that just makes me more mad. The bearing on the outside of the wheel is even a lesser sin that backwards chevrons! lol!
