Nclair is an absolute powerhouse of a unit having one of the highest base damage potentials of any identity. Being a negative coin identity can make him a little tricky to use normally but when alone the only major downside of corrosion is little more than another useful utility he can easily take advantage of.

EDIT: after making my comment, Sinclair has rolled heads on 9:2 corrosion an additional 4 times throughout the video.

Because Nclair have 3x skill 1 and every other identity also have
3x skill 1

The infinite healing provided by base or chef Gregor makes them far more useful than any of his other passives in 90% of all runs and this one is no exception.

Why not use regular supports on Yi sang and Faust and equip only Lantern for self healing upon Corroding?

None of Yi Sang's support passives work with Nclair outside of Ring and Base which both do the same thing but slightly differently. For Faust she does have some other options with Zwei and Regret but for Zwei you need to use skill 1's which let's be honest you're not going to be using many of especially when you replace them all with skill 3's, and for Regret +1 clash power doesn't mean a whole lot when your minimum roll is an 18.
For lantern while the healing is a very useful utility and would certainly have made a few fights a little easier 9:2 is just far better for Nclair. First he fuels it way better only missing envy instead of both pride and gluttony and second it's far more synergistic with his kit having lust fragility and sp loss it's literally designed to be used on him. You could easily run lantern over 9:2, but you'd be severely limited by EGO resource gifts which is the main reason it's far less desirable.

The SP Loss really isn't gonna affect many of the actually troublesome bosses in MD.
For the first two, you could just use Base Faust, he does have Prdie
And for the Yi Sang it really wouldn't matter if you just leaned in fully to Corrosion Strats as long as you aren't using those two

I would not be caught dead using base Faust. Her passive is one of the worst in the game, 3/4 the time it does nothing and the other 1/4 it also does nothing. I’d genuinely rather use a passive that’s an active detriment than that shit.
Also you’re severely overvaluing the actual usability of corrosion. Even for negative coin identities that actively drain their own sanity they cannot trigger corrosion reliably until at least turn 3 unless they are constantly starting fights at -30 sanity which is almost never going to happen thanks to the constant sanity regeneration from clashing and killing enemies. The only way for them to reliably corrode otherwise is by actively using the EGO which requires you to be able to fuel it. And yes I did forget about Nclairs defense skill but even with that it’s still 4 gluttony vs 1 envy which makes 9:2 the far more reliable EGO. Not to mention healing is easily worked around thanks to both support passives and EGO gifts so in my opinion the synergy from 9:2 will always be more valuable than lanterns healing.
