My version of Density MKIII I just downloaded seems to be crashing a lot. Getting the error: "A failure has been detected in the effect...". I did some googling and it seems Mixcraft may have incompatibilities with 32 bit plugins on 64 bit PCs. Do you know if this is still an issue or how I should work with this?

When you install the plugin, make a note of which VST folder you're putting it in, then go into Mixcraft's Plug-Ins preferences, click Edit VST/VSTi Folders, and add that VST folder to the list.
Hi there, little help here, I´m trying to side chain a bass track with a drum kick track to create a more punchy kick effect, I'm using mixcraft 7 (not the pro version) and I have installed this vst, the problem is that the "sidechain source" section does not appear for me, any comments on how I can make this work?
I'm not able to find an option to have a Submix Track. Any advice? Options listed are only your add audio track, add virtual instrument track, and add video track.
It sounds like you are using Mixcraft 8 Home Studio. That is a "lite" edition of Mixcraft that costs less because it has less features. Look at page 7 of the help manual to see the limitations of the Home Studio edition. Home Studio owners can upgrade to Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio for $49: www.acoustica.com/cgi/upgrade.php?p=16
I figured as much. I was contemplating buying the Pro Studio, but $129 is a little steep for me right now. Does the Home Studio Edition for $49 contain the submix track?
You'd be upgrading to Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio, which does have submix tracks, output tracks, etc. Pro Studio gives you lots of extra plugins, including Melodyne Essentials.
I dont have any option to choose external source for sidechain. my plugin does do sidechaining, it works in other DAWS as a setting in the compressor that lets me choose the sidechain source. but not in mixcraft. why?
Which plugin are you using? The plugin needs to support sidechaining. If it doesn't support sidechaining, you could use Mixcraft's Audio Control: www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/v7/help/mixcraft-using-audio-control.html
thx for your quick response - I use your recommended Plug-In called "Density MKIII". But theres no option to switch the source with me. I use the Homeedition of Mixcraft Nr. 7. But I don`t think thats the reaseon that ist doenst work because its a 3rd party plug-in.
No, the problem is that you're using Mixcraft 8 Home Studio. The Home Studio edition does not offer sidechaining as a feature. You might consider upgrading to Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio or Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio: www.acoustica.com/cgi/upgrade.php?p=16
Currently for sidechaining you would need to get a third party compressor that supports it. However, we may change that in future updates! There is also a workaround using an audio controller, which we'll be doing a tutorial on soon!
Hi there my Mixcraft family. I've purchased Pro Studio 9 recently and I was wondering if someone can help me with information as to how to bounce a track with effects added to another track.. Thanks a bunch.😎

Acoustica's Mixcraft digital audio workstation includes several built-in VST instruments and effects; to expand the program's capabilities, install additional VSTs into the program. VST instrument plug-ins are virtual synthesizers that generate sounds in Mixcraft, while VST effect plug-ins alter the sound character of either an audio clip or a VST instrument. Ducking From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigationJump to search For the more common usage, see Duck (disambiguation). For the ducking stool, a public humiliation device, see Cucking stool. Ducking🦆 is an audio effect commonly used in radio and pop music, especially dance music. In ducking, the level of one audio signal is reduced by the presence of another signal. In radio, this can typically be achieved by lowering (ducking) the volume of a secondary audio track when the primary track starts and lifting the volume again when the primary track is finished. A typical use of this effect in a daily radio production routine is for creating a voice-over: a foreign language original sound is dubbed (and ducked) by a professional speaker reading the translation. Ducking becomes active as soon as the translation starts. In music, the ducking🦆 effect is applied in more sophisticated ways where a signal's volume is delicately lowered by another signal's presence. Ducking here works through the use of a "side chain" gate. In other words, one track is made quieter (the ducked track) whenever another (the ducking track) gets louder. This may be done with a gate with its ducking function engaged or by a dedicated 🦆ducker. A typical application is to achieve an impression similar to the "pumping" effect. The difference between ducking and side-chain pumping is that in ducking the attenuation is by a specific range while side-chain compression creates variable attenuation.[1]:94 Ducking may be used in place of mirrored equalization to combat masking, for example with the bass guitar ducked under the kick drum, resembling subtle side-chain pumping.[1]:96 A ducking system may be created where one track ducks another, which ducks another, and so on. Examples include Portishead's "Biscuit".[1]:97 Used most often to turn down the music when the DJ speaks,[2] 🦆ducking may be used to combat the muffling and distancing effect of reverb and delay. The ducker is inserted into the reverb and delay line and keyed to a dry track to duck its own reverb and delay so that when the dry track exceeds the ducker's threshold by reaching a certain amplitude the reverb and delay are attenuated. Clear examples include Céline Dion's "The Power Of Love" where the reverb and delay become audible when Dion pauses and Adele's "Cold Shoulder".[1]:95-96
