i really enjoy your channel i learn a great deal each time i watch one of your videos and you make the process fun to understand and learn about vintage and old gear thank you for ssuch a great channel and keep the great videos coming all the best to you always jon
This would be great for a small diner or bar; it could be put on display in the front, and people would probably be attracted to the establishment just to see it in action.
They had also systems with large tape cartridges. Another option could also be a tape machine with big 12" reels, holding 2000 meters of double play tape, that runs over 11 hours. And with auto reverse and using the half of the tape, it runs 23 hours, so it covers the whole day without playing any song twice. Usually background music doesn't need bass, so a frequency range up to 8 kHz can sound well.
Great video! I have a lot of the Seeburg library as MP3 files (I like working with Seeburg music!) so I never saw one of these great machines operate. Your video is very informative. Thanks.
I found for sale on ebay, a batch of 13 discs CUSTOMUSIC CHRISTMA 16 2/3 rpm.But I need to know the number of the disc that plays at the beginning of the video.
flutter wouldn't be a cart issue it would be an idler wheel issue and THIS machine sounds great! I have two they all make a little noise but that's normal especially considering ALL of the sheer mechanics in this mech has no less than 4 idlers..should one idler wheel go out of round or have a dent more noise will happen so the idlers NEED to be near perfect for near quite playback
@2agray I know that's how You can set up Your account with Muzak service. That's actually the point of industrial music, it's to help keep people's minds a little occupied without actually entertaining them. Kind of crazy really, but it works.
First song was "Always something there to remind me". Popular 60's hit written by Burt Bacharach, covered by many. Re-done by Naked Eyes in the early 80's.
no the carts are NOT in production neither are the needles..the needles are getting very scarce and I've seen good ones go for 75 a piece!! the cartridges? are much hmore than that!

"There's something always there to remind me" (First song)
Just never expected to hear that on a Seeburg machine.
YES! I'm obsessed with the 1000 rendition of this song. I come back to this video a few times a month just so I can hear it!!
Ha! Very cool. I've been working from home and listening to the seeburg background music. Neat to see one working!

LOVE IT!!! I have 3 sets or records and they are a fascinating history snapshot! Great posting of this unit in excellent condition...
Very nice music system. I had always wondered where the music came from when I was a young kid walking through a department store.

Very cool iconic machine of the USA! That's also a great collectible!... Thanks for sharing (with detailed working demonstration)!

i like that Walking in a Winter Wonderland cover
It is a double sided seeburg cartrage I am not sure if it is avalible.
btw the cart has nothing to do with wow or flutter that is all dependant on the condition of the drive gear motor and parts related..not the cartridge

I do not remember I sold that a few years ago.
You should also hear the one for "we've only just begun," I heard it on the 1000 live stream yesterday!
Very nice, is it for sale?
0:30 - "Always something there to remind me"! lol
I always thought these were neat machines!
If the disks that play in this video are all CUSTOMUSIC Christmas, that number has the disc that plays at the beginning of the video?
Holy cow.. when it lifted them all up... :O

What did you wind up getting for it if you wouldn't mind.
