Looking at this crew battle, I wish we'd seen a Shuton Sparg0 grand finals. It should have been pretty interesting.

Sparg0 v Shuton is so hype I want that set in every tournament please... they seem really really even but Sparg0 matches up better against some top tiers like Sonic for whatever reason

I think people are taking Crew Battles (especially this one) too serious. Imagine if Mexico went fullpower while Japan barely had strategic options with only 3 players present. I'm assuming that's why Mexico didn't keep Sparg0 for Tea, because if they really wanted to win that would've been the obvious choice, given Sparg0's dominant record vs him.
Personally I'm glad we got to see some Sparg0 vs Shuton here even if it was only 1 game.
True, people do realize that most people don't try their hardest during crew battles, that goes both for japan and mexico. This tell's nothing tbh. If you wanna compare regions then you should look at each regions top players and average skill.
If you look at how players like Kameme and Skyjay reacted in the first game its obvious how they're not being too intense and competitive, trying to have fun. That's a good point about being in MX and having like three Japanese players, MX prob wanted to keep it light too

Well Japan didn’t have Acola Miya or Proto, so neither team was really at their peak
That said, Mexico has lost now the 10v10 at double down, 5v5 at Genesis (that one had all their best) and now the 3v3 vs JP
genuinely not really sure why people keep insisting that mexico is the strongest region when results like these exist
Japan winning a lot of crew battles since smash 4
And no japan in grand finals as usual, expected from the overrated region by far

Might have to do with trying to balance things out in terms of teams, since there is a limited number of Japanese they don't have some of their tops they might have want to do the same on the other side. Or just didn't want to play or something

This isnt really a way to say its them sending their best players though. Its much less frequent for japans scene to participate in american matches for obvious reasons. Mexico had all of their assets together ready to go
