I personally enjoy watching teacher Ash's video's definitely not a waste of time, really helpful. He comes down to my level and makes effort to make sure as viewer's we understand English , which is very nice of him.
Thank you!! I have one question regarding the difference between articles and reports though. From what I know, reports are more factual and adopt an unbiased tone of voice rather than articles which are more relaxed in the sense that they are not as factual and formal and the writer can inject their opinions and views.
Yes, absolutely. Articles will generally adopt a more personal voice. It depends what the audience and purpose is, though. Writing an article for young students persuading them to join their local fitness centre will be very different to a more informative article about the importance of healthy living for young adults... Report tasks often require you to write about observations at some sort of establishment, explore potential problems and then come up with suitable solutions... A factual and formal register would be appropriate. :)
@@IGCSESUCCESS Another thing i would like to clarify is that speeches are more factual and formal than talks right. Talks are written in a more conversational tone to audiences and is more light hearted than speeches. the base of speeches and talks are the same but the difference is the way in which you present it -> tone, formality, etc
@@dareenakaulsay6369 I'm going to say usually. Again, it depends on the audience. What I will say is that 'talk' tasks for q3 do tend to be quite informal. As for speeches, it really depends on the audience.
😭😭😭i am not a native language speaker.. The fact that the native speakers already understand a context, however hard it is, digests me out of frustration ...😭😭😭.. Idk i won't do good in igcse Cambridge O levels 😭😭😭🙏🙏
Thanks for the video sir! But I have a doubt tho, For question (E) the answer I have written is that " Some people disagree because they think that this project is a way to gain attention and a way of scam by the idea of saving the world. In doing so, people are scared that there might be huge risks involved such as certain species becoming extinct. (Is this answer similar?) ( I have written this answer before your explanation as a way to try the question. I hope u read my answer and reply. Thank you and Have a great day!)
Thanks Sir. Do you think we tutors must read with the students and solve the questions with them? Because if I tell them to do it by themselves, they read something, comprehend something and write something!
@@IGCSESUCCESS Could you explain more about the difficulty variations? Is it that big of a difference and is there a way to predict how hard upcoming exams will be?
@@playbrrr475 I guess the difficulty comes from how challenging the texts are... If a paper is generally more challenging, grade boundaries reflect that. There's no way to predict... Although, I'd like to think Cambridge will be quite nice given this will be the first run of exams and they want kids to do well :)
@@IGCSESUCCESS Ah thank you so much for the explanation. I just found out from one of the comments here that you teach in Thailand. I go to one of the int schools here as well. It's a small world.
