I can't believe I missed this one. Blue is in full stroke and the band is tight. The color and resolution is nothing like the normal for early 70's. WOW
I believe this before Wayne Bennett?, that’s Mel Brown on lead guitar!!, both are legendary. There one concert in Chicago(1980?), both are playing for Bobby Blue Bland!!
To hear both Wayne Bennett and Mel Brown is something to be cherished; I believe both are deceased. They played a major role in the Bobby Blue Bland sound.
DUKE/PEACOCK went bust roun ab this time; BBB s contract transferred to ABC - Dunhill. Dreamer comin up soon. What happened to Joe Hinton ? Got his last lp from the same yr as well on D/P. Anyone know anything? Prefer Hinton to BBB, ntm O.V. What a drivin wheel, ... Junior was on Minit/GM by this time .....Robey may rot wherever he lies ...
Lloyd didn't sound good at all. Why put Mr. Bobby Blue Bland to have to perform behind bad sounding music like that. It should have been B.B. King, or Johnnie Taylor.
BOBBY WORLD GREATES SOULMAN EVER RIP ALWAYS LISTEN NEVER FORGET YOU
Bobby blue Bland was a master of the blues.
Yes, indeed, Bobby Blue Bland was...
Bobby Blue Bland in Top form !! 👏👏
Thanks for the vid 👍👍

Buenisimo !!!
Mr. Lloyd 50 years ahead of his time. 2023 current. Killing decades later. Playing Satie 140 years ahead, Love it. Giants of music .
Legend wants us to believe that Charles Lloyd went into the Inner Asylum for 12 Years from 1970 to 1982. As one can see: It was an empty Legend.
White folks lie on Blacks to try to say that we're no different. But its all a con as with everything else White folks say
Mr. Lloyd's guitarist must've been a Hendrix disciple. That heavy use of a Univibe with some wah added is right out of Jimi's 1970 playbook.
I wonder where Wayne Bennett is? Who's the guy playing guitar? I wish these old shows would roll the band credits at the end.
Back again. It's actually Mel Brown (RIP) playing his legendary Super 400.
Wayne Bennett is there and he's always playing amazing guitar!
