His son will always respect that moment he will always make decisions on that one interaction and him admitting that to his son is what probably provoked a new mindset and work ethic
I've been in the same place as Dion. I studied hard in school but in university the result hit my ego, I started disregarding people and work, a lot of useless stuff took away my attention from studying. A few years passed and at one moment I realised the goals and life that I was expecting will never be here. Depression hit so hard that a thought of su&cide crossed my mind and I stayed emotionally paralysed for some time. It took my a lot of time to forget all the bad stuff and learn behaviour, remember the way I was in school. Hope Dion stays on track even if not in the nba.
I saw this brother in the masjid at night by himself praying during Ramadan sometime 5 years ago. The masjid was empty pretty much, and I just happen to walk in to pick up something. It was beautiful to see. Most people won't ever see that side of him. I don't know if I should have said that, but it made me think so much of what you hear about someone couldn't be far from the truth. Here was a millionaire NBA player taking time out alone in the middle of the night to pray and show gratitude to the Most High.
There has to be more to this story that is not public. Many... MANY NBA players have terrible attitudes but still get contracts. So there has to be something else as this story makes no sense.
I hope young kids will realise this as early as possible. Talent alone won't be the deciding factor of your future in any career choice, it's gonna be commitment and attitude what decides your future regardless the profession.
I actually watched that game were he hit the game winner and I became a Instant fan This guy was so good and I mean it that season if they made the playoffs they would off been hard to beat
What do you think about Carmelo Anthony's case? Are his ego and pride getting in the way of him getting a contract under a team? I mean the man even laughed at the fact that "he'll come off the bench" + his unwillingness to work on his defence.
Yeah Carmelo underachieved he played on some talented rosters. In Denver,NY,Okc,Portland if he had more of a plug in and play Talent Like KD,Bron,Kawhi,PG13,Paul Pierce,Ron Artest. A lot better team players . Also they’re all better than Melo but that’s because they play both sides
Would you dare put him in Memphis as a mentor style player with Ja? They have a enough games before Ja returns to feel him out and see if he is the new and improved version or if he would revert back to his old ways.its kinda a perfect fit really, most of all if his game is still at a high level so he could be a Dillion Brooks replacement because in game shape still in his prime he can go get 15 or more points a night especially in that offense. A prove it contract could give him bonuses if he is the new improved version and he could either be part of a 3 guard line up or come off the bench as a 6th man to help their depth for a playoff run
funny thing about 2012 draft is at the time it was seen as a really strong draft as leading players returned to college due to lockout the year before. i can remember big time prospects like kidd gilchrist, harrison barnes, jared sullinger, perry jones iv, thomas robinson, jeremy lamb and none met expectations although barnes has been a decent even underrated starter throughout his career. Only really Beal and AD had a great careers out of those expected- lillard came from nowhere. and for the same reason why people thought this draft would be great (freshman returning) is why they thought 2011 was weak. and that draft had some of the best players of the era- kyrie, klay, kawhi, jimmy butler
IF U R GOING 2 HAVE A BAD ATTITUDE U BETTER HAVE A DAMN GOOD GAME 2 GO A LONG W/ IT & THEN SOME U CANT HAVE A BAD ATTITUDE & YOUR GAME DOES NOT MATCH U MOST CERTAINLY WILL BE OUT OF ANYBODYS LEAGUE BUT THIS GOES BACK TO HIS FAMILY & FRIENDS TELLING DION THE PION THAT HE IS THE BEST & IT WENT 2 HIS HEAD
One thing that got dion out of cleveland with lebron was the fact that even when and it was often lebron would drive in and hit dion for an open 3 he would still somehow catch it not shoot wide open then stepback step forward tween tween stepback brick Lebron thrived in that drive and kick open shot system but that wasnt dions game

very impressed with what you do, keep going
Look into betterhelp bro they bad.
The amount of loss he’s had in his life at such a young age is crazy. He’s very strong-willed regardless of his situation
Making it to the NBA is such a monumental thing in itself.
Well, if you come from a family of 10. Then....
🙏 👍🏻
Just some black boy bothersome cousins shot up. So what. I’m black I know them. Let them die it’s ok. More black womens for us.
Pretty much normal for lots of inner city black ppl

Man that was really humbling what he told his son. Sounds like he's really changed
Who’d have thought?
I hope he revitalizes his career. Comeback player of the year
Is he old
@@IAMMRONwithout looking it up I would say probably around 32 but he won't be back in the league
@@IAMMRONnot too old to play but old enough where a comeback isn’t likely. It is possible though.
@@theripper631 limited minutes tho
He was the worst player in the league behind Austin Rivers in his last season 🥴
That's precisely the question I wondered about this morning as I prepared for work. What in the world happened to that dude.

He would be a good pickup for any team since it would probably only cost a vets minimum, but he would need to calm his confidence down
Kevin Porter Jr reminds me of Dion Waiters. Excellent scorers, attitude issues. Hopefully Waiters turn this around. He can still score
Ya he pretty talented, all those additions on Houston he could expendable n out, never hope for someone to do badly
I forgot about him he is a legend in Miami
Loved him in OKC and Miami I hope he’s doing well and can’t wait to see him either playing or maybe coaching or commentary.
Hope it works out for him, would love to see him back in the league

Dion Waiters was as solid as they come
Hey AM Hoops, just wondering, are you planning to release the grades for the nba draft picks?
Dion Waiters had one of the cleanest looking jump shots I’ve ever seen fr
I used to like him on my 2K because his shooting form was easy to get perfect on every shot
Honestly would love to get Dion a veteran contract with the Rockets, lord knows that team needs some guidance in the locker room.
Oh definitely! Even though I'm around the same age group as a good majority of that team, they desperately need veteran leadership.
Nah the t wolves need it more especially since KAT behavior of a child
Yea ikr and dion wouldn’t let gay ass green be on zesty shxt either Lmaooo

he deserves a second chance on the Miami Heat !!!! Heat culture could help him !
he could get another change in Portland
“Second chance”? Did you not watch the video? He got suspended 3 times by the Heat
Wow. Great job! Just subscribed.
I was at the dion waiters game winner against the warriors!! It was absolutely electric in the arena
That 2019 plane ride

Oubre and Woods seems to be on same trajectory.
Really happy he was willing to seek help change things around for himself and his family
