Love this evil combo. Before OTJ, i used to do this kind of stuff with Arlinn, the Pack's Hope casting 6/6 Obliterator at flash speed just for blocks 😂
I sometimes play a fight deck with Obliteraters and Suprise as a backup. The best part is when they gamely sac the stuff thinking they have a chance to come back.
I think it's best way to make it work - just because how unexpected it is :D Fight spells are kinda known, but this one is like "Gotcha" move that nobody expects :)
Top tier deck building as always. I envy that og parallax phyrexian obliterator I love that art. I started playing back when All Will be One came out and have 4x of the new art. Always been on the fence crafting the old guys but at least I get to enjoy your content with it :)
Returning to the comments to request that you try and add the card Virtue of strength into this deck and some off your future ones. It ends up giving you x3 the mana value of any tapped basic land card and just seriously helps increase the ramp and ability to play full hands. I ended up playing one of my friends in some challenge matches and we both mixed and matched some decks that we made and we both found that Virtue of strength paired up with the Invasion of Zendikar is a serious mana builder and a serious problem. If you guys try it let me know how you get on with it
Ahhhh i love it. I have been playing a similar cersion of this with coiling rebirth instead of smugglers suprise because i dont own them. And man they never expect it. I use viper instead of vaultborn though
Yeah, I played rebirth too in a bit of different deck, and it still has nice synergies with this kind of deck :) Glad you liked it! And viper is always cool addition :D

It's crazy someone thinks being Mythic is hard in current standard I never thought anyone actually thinks that I - can't - be Mythic because it's too hard, just wow.. I misplay because I'm focused on commentary and playing quick, so you get entertaining videos that is faster paced.
I mean, you literally see if I play ranked or not :p It depends, some days I get mass mono red, sometimes I get multiple cool decks in a row, so yeah, dunno
29:48 this is off topic, but if you have any desire to improve your English a bit, the TH sound is distinct from an F sound. So thirteen/thirteen wouldn't be firteen/firtee. Instead of putting your front teeth on your lip, you want to put the tip of your tongue to your front teeth to make the sound. Otherwise you get the F sound and it doesn't sound right.

Smugglers' Surprise w/ Obliterator is clever! Flashing it in to block on opponent's turn is much harder to anticipate vs usual fight spell combo.
Yeah, I've never seen a smuggler's obliterator combo, so nobody really thinks about it - even when they are aware it is a ramp deck
poor, sloth just had to use that 1 extra mana to make them indestructible but didn't think they would have a get lost.
