A little tip for closeted witches: Get plants. Not only can you grow your own herbs, but you can also use them as an excuse to collect rain water and save eggshells
I remember watching this in class, and the teacher walked up to me and asked me what I knew about the Book of Shadows and I told her that it’s like a diary of spells and the one witch’s journey through the Wicca way. She nodded and asked me if I wanted to see HER BOOK OF SHADOWS!!! I didn’t get to see it because the class was over by the time she said it, and I felt that it’s give her bad luck to let someone else see her own BoS. But like... SHE WAS A WITCH OR A WICCA! Awesomeee
Hot tip: If you prefer to categorise your Book of Shadows, consider using a binder rather than a book, that way you can rearrange your pages, plus add and take pages out when desired. Then put in dividers for easier navigation
I was literally surfing the comments to see if anyone else uses a binder! I am just starting on my journey and I was thinking a binder would be the most practical way for me because I tend to do things in a non practical way! I’m so glad I saw this comment! 😊🖤
I see a lot of comments saying people are interested in witchcraft but they're an atheist (or another religion).. I just wanted to say that you can do both! You can be a Christian Witch! I've been an atheist and a witch for years! I don't believe in gods/goddesses but I do understand the natural energies of the universe and how to connect with them, and that's all it's really about! Edit: wow guys thanks for the likes!! Hope everyone is doing well on their path! 💜 For those just starting out my favorite beginners book was "Witch School"! Some other good ones are "Book of Shadows" by Scott Cunningham and "To Ride A Silver Broomstick" by Silver RavenWolf 💜
Rebecca Russell a witch could be a lot of things, for example there are witches that pray a god (or gods) and others that are atheists. The Wiccan is the one that follows the Wiccan religion and uses its rules also (for example the rule of 3 and the wheel of the year). Search on the web “types of witches” and you can learn a lot. Most of the witches nowadays are eclectic, it means that they don’t follow a specific path but likes to learn from different sources and make their own. Hope it was helpful 🖤
I am an Atheist interested in Wicca. I personally am considering choosing my deities based off of things I admire and use them as a figurehead. For example, I love femininity and might use the Triple Moon Goddess, Lilith, or Skyrim's Dibella as a figurehead.
my boyfriend and I are journeying through this experience together. We have our own separate Book Of Shadows ‘ and our own personal altars. but we’re experiencing it all together
I'm starting to identify as Wiccan. My heart literally feels so warm and homely. I used to identify as just spiritual and not religious. I felt so good identifying as it and felt at home. But when I started to learn more about Wicca my heart radiated 20x more warmth. It was a build up of my journey :) I began as an agnostic !!

I have two: • One “Book of shadows” which I write down more like information and what happens when I do a spell and just things I don’t want to bother making pretty. [store bought, lots of pages so I can have it for a long time] • And the other is my “Grimoire” where I make it all look pretty and I write down the things that I find important and I can use to look back on where it’s more structured. [handmade, small/A5 kind of and handy, and hopefully will never remake it]
Makk Highbear honestly spell work is heavily placed on belief. If you believe a spell will work and have your intentions clear, it should work. For spell jars, I would say just look up things that are related to your intentions and put it in there, sealed with a colored candle.
a book of shadows can be anything really. if you want a really aesthetic one that's like a really old tome with yellowed pages, sure, go for it, but keep in mind old books fall apart easily. So if you live with pets or small children i recommend using something sturdier. I actually kept mine in a word document until i bought my first book of shadows.

I am a christian, a very strong christian at that. And i find your videos so fascinating. I love your personality. I have always been interested in different faiths or religions, and spellwork and things have always really interested me. I would love to know how the spells or potions work for you. Do NOT play the "Book if Shadows" drinking game for she says "Book of Shadows" 91 times in the this video. the jumpcut editing is hard to watch if you took a shot every time she said "book of shadows" you would DIE for she said it 61 times in the first ten minutes! after the first FIVE minute i had to go back and keep a runnning count! that being said some nice imagery in the book hon hope you have great success along the path. --Rick
this video was poorly cut/edited and i know the perpencity for folks to turn videos like this into drinking games i consider this a PSA. i have kept a BOS since 1972
I love how you differentiate between Wiccans and Witches. And that Grimoires are more commonly used by witches (very true.) You're the only "occult" youtuber ive come across to have done this. I'm not Wiccan, since I don't personally believe in deity but I do practice witchcraft, so as a non-wiccan witch, I really appreciate the little details like that and how properly informed you are and I want to thank you for this channel. It's so informative and wonderful and it makes me so happy to watch and hear people talk about their practice, and thank you for sharing your Book of Shadows. I know how personal it can be to a practitioner and the fact that you showed us at all I'm grateful for, so thank you ♡ (Also your make up is so good? Omg I'm in love ♡♡♡)
Eee, I am the same! I personally just class myself as a Pagan so it saves confusion. I've JUST started getting into the Pagan lifestyle and frame of mind and I'm loving it. I bought my very first crystals the other day, so now I need to get myself a Book of Shadows and then expand my knowledge in witchcraft. 😊
What do you think you are practicing in the Catholic rites? The veneration of the saints, eating the body of Christ, drinking His blood, passing the fire from the Easter candle to the baptized, et cetera ... Catholicism IS witchcraft.
Marcus Aurelius technically you’re right. Almost all Catholic rites were created as interpretations of various ancient Pagan traditions and given a Christian twist as a means of making it easier to convert the population of Europe to Christianity. Also, the Catholic Saints are reinterpretations of Pagan gods, and the Holy Trinity is simply the Maiden, Mother, and Crone given a forced sex change by the Catholic Church.
And? The rest of the video is still important. She even started the video with saying that she was uncomfortable till now with showing everyone till now. Show harmony a little bit more respect
I was raised in a christain family, but I don't believe in that religion. I currently don't believe in any religion. Wicca interests me, and I agree with a lot of it. The parts about living alongside Earth and being inquizitive about the world around you ressonates with me, as I firmly believe this. However, I don't know if I believe in Wicca faith. I do believe in crystals having special properties that can alter and improve mood. That part I understand. But what confuses me is everything supernatural like with Tarot Cards and Spells. Can someone please explain this more indepth to me? I wish to break out of my ignorance and naivety.
Amethyst7776 this is strictly my opinion, but as a pagan who looks more at the science side of things, i see taro as a way to help guide you in life. Taro to me is more of a suggestion of what could happen if you make a choice. In a way, taro taps more into your subconscious mind rather than your conscious and it gets you thinking and expands your mind and views. For example, say i pull a Taro of Death. That doesnt necessarily mean there will be physical death, it could also mean that the end of something in your lofe is coming. Such as something you though is true is no longer true. The death of that thought is what the card meant. Remember that was just a very brief example using Death! Its all about how you personally interpret each card.
In my experience, there are two types of pagans when it comes to this matter. 1; You have pagans that believe pendulum, tarots, etc. is controlled by a deity (or another being) that knows the past, present, and future and then gives you advice on that. 2; You have pagans that believe in the Law of Attraction. You put out energy and vibrations subconciously of what you want, then that sways the pendulum to an answer that will guide you. Or like the other person that commented, they use tarot cards as a guide for the future. *THIS IS ALL IN MY OPINION BASED ON EXPERIENCE, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT AS FACTS BECAUSE THERE ARE PROBABLY MORE TYPES*
It's not as "mystical" as people may think.. a spell is simply using tools (physical and nonphysical) to manipulate natural energy to help manifest something into reality, the law of attraction. EVERYONE does it, they just may not be aware! The more you focus on something and the more "physical" you make it, the more it's attracted to you :)
I just starting bookbinding so I can make my own book of shadows! I'm poured coffee on some sketch paper and baked it in the oven and sewed up the middle with twine 😊this is my start at learning to be a green witch
@@andyoconnell4821 - there's nothing inherently witchy about book binding. I had to learn how for a college publishing class. Plenty of people make their own journals and art books. I particularly enjoy videos from "The Paper Outpost" here on UA-cam. She's got a three part series on gutting an old book, re-using the cover, and adding in your own signatures. It's "how to make a junk journal out of an old book!!" Among many other tutorials available there. Don't be discouraged by video length, she's just in-depth on the process in real time. Get the skill under your belt, and you'll have it for later use.
only my wife can look at my grim/bos we are bonded so it's ours like we have one for each of us because we take different Wicca paths and we have one we come together that helps us equally.

I'm 13 years old and I believe in Wicca. I was born as a Jew, but I am devoting myself to Wicca. This channel has really helped me, and I thank you for that.
I was born into a christian family and i have been sent to a catholic school since kindergarten and ive never been interested in the catholic religion and I have taken WAY more interest in the wicca religion. I'm hesitent to convert but, I usually fall asleep in religion class and I haven't slept in 28 hours because of how much I'm enjoying studying wicca. Im going to buy a massive notebook, decorate it, and start my studies. I'm hoping my parents aren't dissapointed in me but, there probably going to call it a phase and not care. Thank you so much for making this video I'm going to sleep because I'm tired. Bye!
Being a Witch is not about realigon don't worry abaut that , I'm a catholic witch, I know you are not intrested in christianism, chest wanted to say that
i just read your comment and i feel the same way, also you posted this 2 years ago so I wanted to ask how your journey is going? also i want my family to know that I'm not christian but I'm scared how they'll react so i also wanted to ask how your parents reacted? (if it's not to personal ofc)
So in a lot if your videos you talk about charming things and putting charms in things, I was wondering if you could make a video about that? I would love to know how to charm things!
Everyone has a different way of doing things. My mum ((who is the witch but shares info with me)) does something different with each thing she enchants or encounters. Most just call out to her. Its a feeling/string that connects her to the item or the feeling to do something a certain way. Others, they do spells and herbs and words. And some dont do anything but look, point, say its purpose and moves on with life. It is all up to you and the item you wish to charm. Just do what calls to you.
Wicca has such a beautiful concept , it makes my soul quite happy thinking about the prospect of living with nature and being so connected to it even though I’m agnostic and kind of resent the idea of religion , but this one is so inherently beautiful
Genos that’s wonderful , ever since that comment I’ve had a similar journey . I identify as a witch now and kind of leaning towards paganism and learning more about the occult . I’ve never been happier in myself in a way , it’s quite beautiful .
Spells. We may need to be a little more specific. Rituals, Evocation, Invocation, Divination, are just four of about eight or nine schools of magic. I'll start with the basics. A spell is defined as "A chant, prayer, or vocalization to a Spirit, God, Goddess, or other Deity to perform a task or accomplish the will of the Caster". Using this definition, we can say ALL religions who practice prayer are practicing magic. Magic- and by extension, spell-craft- in the Wiccan culture, is done several ways, typically in the form of rituals and employing chanting, wand work, and candlelight, often dictated by the time, date, and season. For example, Ritual Sacrifices are often given in the Autumn, the season of Fire. Usually, the effects of magic change depending on the season, type of wand used (if used at all) and other elements. I know this can be very confusing to the unaccustomed, but I hope I've been of some help.
Gray Blackhelm That was very cool of you to fill us In by out lining your basic curriculum in response to question requested above. I’ve learned more in your post than her whole “book of shadows” book of shadows” Um like ya know “book of shadows” tutorial. 😳
Could you also do an episode about rituals please! How to do them, what to do, why, when etc. That would be great because I don't really find information about it. 😊🔮 Blessed be all of you lovely soul 🌙
You actually can be a wiccan AND believe in the Judeo-Christian god. You can even be an atheist and a wiccan at the same time. Wicca is about respecting Mother Nature and following three basic principles: Do whatever you want, except harming others or yourself; Everything you do will come back to you somehow, so be careful; Treat people the way you would like to be treated. The problem with christianism is that many followers are intolerant and believe that any religion wich worships other gods necessarily worship Satan, and that anyone who isn't a christian is necessarily doomed. No, you can believe in Jesus' god, be a wiccan and still go to Heaven (if you believe in Heaven or Hell).
I will never tire of watching this woman speak or hearing her voice. Some facts: - Redheads are less than 4% of the world population. - Among redheads, Most common eye color is brown. Then green and lastly, blue eyes comprising of only 12% of the redheaded population. So they are the most rare people on earth. What a goddess. Or at least highly representative of one! :D

Hi! So I'm a pagan green witch! I have a Grimoire and a BOS. My BOS is, like you said Harmony, very personal to me. However, my Grimoire is full of information, tarot info, gods and goddesses, ritual work, etc. My BOS has all of my experiences with each spell, the results, my tarot spreads, dream work, etc. It's more like a journal. I do use my Grimoire way more than my BOS. I'm actually in the process of getting my 2020, handmade by and Etsy witch, journal for my Grimoire. If anyone is interested in her Etsy I can edit this with the link. But basically, thank you Harmony for being so informational and kind and lovely and I have a huge lesbian crush on you 😂 From your lesbian pagan green witch, Brystarr
Because I am kinda confused....do you have to do wicca to have BOS and Grimoire is more for witches that do witchcraft and not wicca? idk i am confused
Thatonechick 1981 so I know this comment is a year old lol, but I recently found a book called “Spellcrafting: strengthen the power of your craft by creating and casting your own unique spells” by Arin Murphy-Hiscock. I haven’t gotten really into it yet cause I’m still a baby witch and want to make sure to start at the beginning lol, but maybe it could be helpful to you!
You can really just write an intention down, and say it, close your eyes and say it, get some herbs that represent your intentions and throw them into the air while saying it, burn those herbs while saying it, and so on, I think that the reason why people don’t usually give a direct answer to this question is because there isn’t really a direct answer. It’s really up to you how you want to do the spell. They will work if you have a clear intention and visualize it clearly, but you need to be careful with spells too, you must be very very specific with what you want, or you may get something you don’t want. Like I know this is a stupid example but if you wanted longer hair and you did a spell for longer hair and didn’t specify what hair you wanted longer, you may get longer body hair as well as scalp hair. I hope that makes sense
I'm christian and always was interested in witchcraft and I have a journal in wich I kind of write everything, including witchcraft work. I don't actually like to believe in anything. What seems like works is what I believe in

I had so much fun putting so much energy and care into this book and I think it'll definitely be a great first BoS to start my journey with. :) --- May 12 2020 Hey all! Life's been pretty rough as of late huh? I hope everyone's staying safe and healthy, sending you good vibes! I've been living with my family for nearly three months during this pandemic so my book of shadows creation has been put a little bit on hold. But that's ok! I'm progressing in other ways! I've been practicing bookbinding, learning techniques and tricks that I like best, and I've been designing what I want my book to look like, what materials etc. I think what I am planning to do: in September it will have been a year since I've started my wiccan journey, and I plan to have a self dedication ritual. I've learned a lot about what I want out of my practice, and what I want to learn and do. So I think it makes sense, to only then begin to craft my BOS then! :) Till September, I'm going to be gathering materials and prepping what I need. If anyones interested, I might put up a video of the entire process (or at least some of it, since it is gonna be a bit personal for me c: )
I kinda feel like I want to have two Book Of Shadows. Like one regular to include all my work and info on the Sabbats with How i would celebrate them, potions and spells and whatever, and the other one would be a sort of index on every single magical item I own. Like, I was gonna keep them all together but I'm gonna keep getting more crystals, and I'd love to have a book that includes all the info on every crystal and herb that I come to own throughout my life. I dunno, just an idea.
Tara Taillon i’ve thought of doing the same thing like making a crystal index for myself because sometimes it can be really difficult remembering all of the benefits that each crystal has!
it would be great if oyu made an enchanted endeavors on different wiccan deities!!! I would love to know more about them and how you choose your personal deities
We don't really "choose" Deities or Gods and Goddesses. Take note of the Gods and Goddesses you work with on the regular, and they become your personal deities. Now- the number of deities we find in these religions number in the hundreds. Where do you take your inspiration for magic? This can lower the possibilities considerably.
@@khalebrobertson9907 this is true I've been there. I'm sure its somewhere in the New Forest in the south of England. There was a witchy wicca shop as well. I was far too young to understand any of it when I was there though
Do you have advice? I was born in the Christian religion but I’ve never felt like that was what I believe in. I found out that I believe in the Wiccan religion. But my christian family looks down upon it. They believe that wiccans worship the devil. And that’s not at all what it is. I want to sit them down and talk about it but they’re headasses and don’t try to understand any religion but their own. It sucks so much. Because I want to be able to be expressive with it and be proud of it and have a bunch of crystals and stuff but my parents don’t believe in that. I’m kind of just stuck in this situation.
Do you want this? Then do it. Sit them down and do the talk. There's no easy way to do it. It will be hard. It may possibly hurt. But you have to go through this.
Isabella Krietz Yea same... and even as i have explained it, my parents call it stupid and fake even though it's my beliefs and say im going to hell. Thats fun.
It's going to be hard and it's probably going to hurt both sides for a while, but you have to do it. Maybe not now but eventually you're going to have to sit them down and explain. Make it clear that you respect their religion but you would also like them to respect to yours that you don't worship the devil as they say and that is the truly care then they'll respect you and do not judge you for who you are.
This is really great for me. I purchased a really nice book that I just love. My thing was I didnt wanna "ruin" in bc I really was drawn to it. It nice to hear that it doesnt need to be perfect bc that is what I always get stuck on. I like for things to turn out nice, pretty, perfect almost...sometimes to the point that it holds me back from doing stuff. I've been confused on how to start bos so this was extremely helpful in many ways....thanks a year later! - jewel
ive been an atheist for a very long time but this seems so interesting to search into. the popular religion here is christianity but i never once believed in that god.
Molten Kitty No, Wicca is a religion that believes in Gods, you can't be Wiccan if you don't believe. So witchcraft is the perfect way to make your path if you don't believe in Gods.
Baby witch here! I went on amazon a week ago and I ordered some incense, a book on beginner witchcraft, a book on green witchcraft, and a journal to be my book of shadows! I’m so excited for them to get here!!!
Just found this religion yesterday, and honestly I feel so much more welcome into Wicca than Christianity and I agree with more things in Wicca and believe in more things in Wicca than Christianity, this is helping me understand everything easier, thank you for making these videos! UwU!
I use a small binder for my spell book (I'm not wiccan, just a witch so I pretty much just have technical things in there) and I love it because I'm the type of person that needs things to be organized so using a binder that I can reorganize is great for me.
I recommend your series to many of my younger friends who are looking for guidance outside of myself, you are detailed, informative and genuine and I love watching your videos. I've been practicing Wicca for over 20 years, and you are in inspiration to the younger Wiccans that are answering the call of the God and Goddess. Blessed Be!
Sick! (Like good/admirable sick). I’m not Wiccan, I practice Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) and Buddhism, but I have basically the same thing. Aphorisms, ritual practice, quotes, deities, chakras, symbolism, astrology, all sorts of things. I think this sort of thing is ideal for any spiritual/religious practitioner. It’s so much more meaningful to create your own path as opposed to following one that has already been made. Of course, that isn’t to say other scriptures aren’t great sources, but I don’t think it’s good to rely on them completely.
I've been reading "The Green Witch" and it mentioned "Green Witch Notebook" where you can note how things make you feel when you practice them when you're doing Green Witchcraft.... is a Witch notebook basically a "Book of Shadows"? Very confused. Great video and beautiful makeup btw!
Hi! Sorry this is so late but I'd still like to answer this (if you haven't yet learned it yourself in this time). What you're describing sounds like a book of mirrors. It's basically a Wiccan diary. A book of shadows is more of a place to record what you've learned, and a book of mirrors is how you FEEL about what you've learned and how you feel about Wicca. If that makes sense?
I’m a new witch (a baby witch, if you will) and I’m thinking about binding my own Book of Shadows/Grimoire and making a casing for it to keep it hidden in my bookshelf so that it looks like a regular book. Making the outer case from a large old book (probably a bad one from a thrift store or something) and taking out the paper and putting boards to give it the structure, a clamshell box, and then having a slipcase inside of it. The first case will have a lock on it and I’ll wear the key on a chain around my neck. I’ll enchant the box and the book to hex anyone else who tries to open it or read it. Something simple like bad luck. I’ll also probably try to have a glamour over the case so it looks less suspicious. Anyways, just wanted somewhere to write down my plans!
This is perfect! I'm really new to Wicca, and I was planning to look up information about this after I finished the rest of the series! I will already kind of sad that you didn't have a video on this, and I'm super glad that you now do! Thank you
I want to be honest, i love your videos and i love your personality, you are gorgeous, and I found your channel when searching about wicca, i kind of have feelings about wicca and for some strange reason i feel something like a calling.. i dont really know how to explain it but i am a little bit scared of what can happen if i become a wiccan, since it is not something you can talk about here in paraguay, because in latinoamerica i dont feel like is that known, i dont know how to explain like they are different religions of the native people here but my family is catholic, most of my friends are, i am scared of what they can think of me if i talk to them about it, i seriously dont know how to explain myself lol Anyways, thank you for the informative videos always and for being open to us
When I was first getting into Wicca, I didn't even realize that it had a name. A lot of things that we do in our everyday lives, like decorating our houses with fresh flowers and opening all the windows, wearing our favorite crystals, and meditating are already parts of Wicca! If you're super nervous about it, maybe take it slow at first and just incorporate small parts of Wicca into your daily routine!
If your practicing witch craft and you are scared you should not be doing it, end of, and f you do you will attract negativity and and fear in to whatever your working on. Fear can be conquered though. Just relax and cleanse your self and your space.
I'm in broom closet too. My family and friends are catholic, but I told about Wicca to my best friend, and she didn't judge me. I said it also to my schoolmate, what is my friend in dance class. She had a questions, but everything was alright. You can say to your closest friend, if you want to. ^^

You already share so much on your channel to help others, you deserve whatever privacy you wish. 💜 I'm still figuring out what to do for my BoS so this was perfect timing (even though I'm watching late, sorry). Lol my subtitles are killing me. I’m literally 5:22 into the video and my subtitles have said, wicked, WIC, wicker, wick, and of course Wicca. It’s distracting and fun
Candles are most often found in rituals, but can be used extensively in many forms of magic. Candles can even work magic if just left alight. I use a white and a black candle by the front door; Black candles attract and detoxify negative energy, and White leaves a protective barrier against hostile magic. Are you on Pinterest or Tumblr perchance? There's a half decent magical community on both sites.
I’m a 14 yr old witch just starting out, I’m rly interested in potions and spells that I can do at home. I looked into kitchen Witchery, and I love the whole idea and atmosphere of Wicca. Without the proper advice I don’t really know how to get started. Any tips? Open to all advice 💕
Remember to do your research, dont use just witchtok or witches on UA-cam!!! There’s a lot of misinformation out there!! Always check multiple sources. I recommend looking into books about kitchen witchcraft and different herbs! Blessed be :)
Start meditating and keep a BOS. Also do A LOT of research, there are soooooo many topics and that might seem overwhelming, but just start with the basics (crystals, simple spells, backyard herbs ect.) I hope this helps. :)
I think it’s fantastic you’re going into this, as it’s such a fascinating practice. If you’re into kitchen witchery, then maybe hedge witchcraft or green witchcrafts could also be a good route for you. I’m also in my teens and just starting out. There are tons of great books online as well, and I think it’s very important to look into many different practices, just to figure out what works for you! Good luck!
@@Lillyjanelavender I’m now 15, I’ve come a long way! I’ve got a full book of shadows and decided to have a new one for 2022. I’m focusing on kitchen Witchery and spells that involve food and teas. I’m also enjoying candle magic and divination at the moment, blessed be 🥰
you’re very inspiring! I started just a few months ago and I’m 17 so I love hearing about people’s journeys especially younger people sticking with it!
my bff identifies as a witch and her family does not support her yet! I found this quite sad. just a tip for fellow witches, i recomend in your book of shadows to start with what different things do and uses, and have the rest of the pages be on spells, rituals, and potions. also i have my first page be a glossary and i number my pages!
hi harmony, i saw on your instagram that you were coming here to prague next week and would like to wish you a nice visit and also recommend a place to visit if you have some time, which is the cat cafe at křižíkova 22. it's such a beautiful, calm place to just sit, drink hot chocolate and eat cakes
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have been searching for a tutorial just like this. Couldnt find many anywhere of just a simple explanation of topics and ideas! Thank you !!!!!
Really, its as simply as it sounds. Tie the sage on one end (and whatever herbs and minerals you may want to include), light it till it smokes, and walk with it around the home. Allow the smoke to waft into corners and halls before moving on, waving the smudge stick if necessary to accomplish this. Study the smoke; how does it appear? does it waft quickly, branching out into the air? Does it float upward quickly, like smoke from a cigarette? We want to see the former here, that is, we want it to look like the smoke of a campfire. Poofy.
this video was actually really helpful! im not a new wiccan, my mom and grandma to my great(x4) grandma have been wiccans but when each of us turn 16 we kind of have to go off on our own journey of self discovery and make our own spellbooks and shadow books, which im super excited about bc ive been kinda like an "apprentice" for 15yrs lol
I'm new to witchcraft and I'm really excited to write down everything I've been learning. Now I can clear out all of my screenshots 😂 I even have an empty binder and 5 subject notebook I can use!
If you’re in the broom closet, consider making your book digital. A Google doc/slideshow or even one of those online journals would work! Title it something basic like “song recs” and fill the first page with whatever the title is so the thumbnail won’t be your bos. You can also use code (like instead of herbs you can say food, instead of witchcraft say homework)
I am going through this series... and it's really making a connection with me.. I'm not religious, and havent been for years... but I am feeling a strong connection to what your saying! I am gonna have to dig more into Wicca to see if it's for me! Btw love your videos and I'm a new subscriber!
I have multiple books - one "general" book with miscellaneous as well as rituals and the acts I do, then one for spirit work, one for herbalism (tincture recipes, teas, etc), one for special dreams. To me it helps to keep organized and a lot of information about the properties of plants for reference for example and a seperate book that I document just any practice or spell or ritual I do that might cross over and include a plant I have documented in my plant book :). The first Book of Shadows I kept was just a regular hardcover note book from some company that they gave away at a job fair booth because I really wasn't operating with a budget for this as I am now. That book is so familiar to me now that it is as precious on my shelf as newer books I have made
Hey there Harmony, I was one of the people who requested this video so I wanted to thank you so much, I know it's so special and meaningful and I'm so honoured that you showed what you did with the intent of helping people! One thing I wanted to know is whether you/anyone else? ever records diary-entry-type things in it, so like explaining the results of a tarot spread, or the effects of a spell after it's been cast. xx
LettersAndLeaves I personally don't go into super detail but I do like to record my readings, certain dreams, things like that. I felt like it really helped me learn along the way, along with helping me go over and understand the reading itself.
I've heard that a lot of people generally record whether or not spells work or the tarot interpretations to help them learn it in their BOS it's just whatever you find helpful
I've got a big black book of shadows where I draw fancy graphs and write everything all neat and tidy. I like to think that I'll be passing it down one day, so I make it super easy to understand. I also have a less expensive little diary where I make personal entries about what I've learned, the problems and joys I've faced. I keep them together, and the diary one is for my eyes only, but I don't mind sharing my main BoS with my witchy friends :D
I try to be as specific as I can. I usually take note of the Day, time, season, reading, and the spread of tarot cards. I don't really practice magic at all, but the witches I've known are just as specific as I am of the tarot. However, his is YOUR craft. Be as specific or unspecific as you like.
I'm a baby witch (in the broom closet, unfortunately), and I'm putting together/writing a book of shadows for the first time. Thank you Harmony, all of your videos are really helpful. I started mine by making a sort of title page with plenty of blank space in case I want to put protective sigils or anything like that, and then journalling about why I am going into the craft/signs that I've seen/that like. I think, once I finish this one, I will go back through and figure out what I wrote most about/what info I learned and maybe buying separate notebooks and separating the info. ie maybe I could do a craft-basics book featuring the wheel of the year and casting circles, smaller but important things. or a book specifically about herbs if I find myself referencing plants and herbs a lot. Then maybe my next Big Book could go specifically to a path or two that I may find myself in. If any of that made sense, I'm mostly experimenting 😅 Lmk if this is a completely wrong way to do it or if anyone has any tips. Greatly appreciated. Peace. (I've been going back and forth about really joining this type of world for a couple of years, and have Very basic and diverse knowledge from the small amount of research I've done)
A little tip for closeted witches:
Get plants. Not only can you grow your own herbs, but you can also use them as an excuse to collect rain water and save eggshells
thank you this is so helpful!! ☺️💗💗
I’m new too all of this but what does egg shells do? And do you pour the rain water in the plants or something? X

Hot tip: If you prefer to categorise your Book of Shadows, consider using a binder rather than a book, that way you can rearrange your pages, plus add and take pages out when desired. Then put in dividers for easier navigation
and then decorate the outside to look like a book

I see a lot of comments saying people are interested in witchcraft but they're an atheist (or another religion).. I just wanted to say that you can do both! You can be a Christian Witch! I've been an atheist and a witch for years! I don't believe in gods/goddesses but I do understand the natural energies of the universe and how to connect with them, and that's all it's really about!
Edit: wow guys thanks for the likes!! Hope everyone is doing well on their path! 💜
For those just starting out my favorite beginners book was "Witch School"! Some other good ones are "Book of Shadows" by Scott Cunningham and "To Ride A Silver Broomstick" by Silver RavenWolf 💜
Lucid Labyrinth THANKS for this! People think that to be a Wiccan/witch you must pray a god or different gods, but that’s not true
I am knew to all of this and I would love to learn more about it, could d I ask what the difference between a wiccan and a witch?
Lucid Labyrinth Thank you your an inspiration

I have two:
• One “Book of shadows” which I write down more like information and what happens when I do a spell and just things I don’t want to bother making pretty. [store bought, lots of pages so I can have it for a long time]
• And the other is my “Grimoire” where I make it all look pretty and I write down the things that I find important and I can use to look back on where it’s more structured. [handmade, small/A5 kind of and handy, and hopefully will never remake it]
I’m a baby witch so I just have the first option but I have an extra sketch book I’m planning to pretty up
Where do you find legit spells ?? I need help.
Makk Highbear honestly spell work is heavily placed on belief. If you believe a spell will work and have your intentions clear, it should work. For spell jars, I would say just look up things that are related to your intentions and put it in there, sealed with a colored candle.
That’s just my opinion, nothing is law in spell work. You can do whatever you want.
Why Do you need to know? Oh, okay! Thank you:)
I actually made my book of shadows by hand. I sewed each of the pages with thread. It's very small but it's perfect

Can it be a spiral notebook?
a book of shadows can be anything really. if you want a really aesthetic one that's like a really old tome with yellowed pages, sure, go for it, but keep in mind old books fall apart easily. So if you live with pets or small children i recommend using something sturdier. I actually kept mine in a word document until i bought my first book of shadows.

What do you think you are practicing in the Catholic rites? The veneration of the saints, eating the body of Christ, drinking His blood, passing the fire from the Easter candle to the baptized, et cetera ... Catholicism IS witchcraft.
Marcus Aurelius 😯
Same
Marcus Aurelius technically you’re right.

She explains it in this series! Look at the playlist

@@andyoconnell4821 - there's nothing inherently witchy about book binding. I had to learn how for a college publishing class. Plenty of people make their own journals and art books.

I used to be agnostic :) Then I identified as 'spiritual' and now I identify as Wiccan. I believe it was all a build up to my true destination :)
Genos that’s wonderful , ever since that comment I’ve had a similar journey . I identify as a witch now and kind of leaning towards paganism and learning more about the occult . I’ve never been happier in myself in a way , it’s quite beautiful .
@Bookworm A you absolutely do not , it’s a very secular practice in itself
Can you do a video about spells? I’m super new to the Wiccan culture and wondering about spells.
Gray Blackhelm, Thanks for all that information. I'm fairly new to Wicca so this was very helpful to me
Gray Blackhelm That was very cool of you to fill us In by out lining your basic curriculum in response to question requested above.

Anyone else extremely unsure of if they want to convert from christian to wiccan?
Vector Perkins yup lol
Me!
I’m a Christian and a non-Wiccan witch, you don’t have to choose!
@@morganhunter3994 but Christianity is against witchcraft

But basically, thank you Harmony for being so informational and kind and lovely and I have a huge lesbian crush on you 😂
From your lesbian pagan green witch,

hey! I'd love to know the link to the Etsy for the journal! Thanks already :)

Because I am kinda confused....do you have to do wicca to have BOS and Grimoire is more for witches that do witchcraft and not wicca? idk i am confused

How do you start writing your own spells and making sure they work?
Thatonechick 1981 Watch Eadig vids about that she has great videos for beginners
MadHatter1196 thank you, I appreciate the recommendation. I will check it out
Just cut it out while you still have time. ua-cam.com/video/4gXUrPC8hPM/v-deo.html

Hey all!
If anyones interested, I might put up a video of the entire process (or at least some of it, since it is gonna be a bit personal for me c: )
please update us when you can ~~

I kinda feel like I want to have two Book Of Shadows. Like one regular to include all my work and info on the Sabbats with How i would celebrate them, potions and spells and whatever, and the other one would be a sort of index on every single magical item I own. Like, I was gonna keep them all together but I'm gonna keep getting more crystals, and I'd love to have a book that includes all the info on every crystal and herb that I come to own throughout my life. I dunno, just an idea.
That’s a great idea. I’m new to wicca too but if you have more than one I think you should have different colored ones.
Tara Taillon i’ve thought of doing the same thing like making a crystal index for myself because sometimes it can be really difficult remembering all of the benefits that each crystal has!
That's what I plan on doing. A Book of Shadows and a Witchionary. Lol
I have 3 different book of shadows
Hey Tara, try a levenger disc system. That's what I use to catalogue and organize the information for my personal crystal directory.
it would be great if oyu made an enchanted endeavors on different wiccan deities!!!
In her book she goes into a lot more detail with the deities i would definately give it a read!

Isabella Krietz say 'fuck it' and start "worshipping the devil"" lmao. I know its gonna be hard but, like, they'll get over it.
me too, imma moslem hahaha
How about trying your hand in the Craft? No belief necessary, just a passive allowance for it to work.
Wicca is a religion but witchcraft is not. Witchcraft is definitely the place to be if you want to practice the craft but stay atheist.
sadie2melw you can be an atheist Wiccan as well
Molten Kitty No, Wicca is a religion that believes in Gods, you can't be Wiccan if you don't believe.
So witchcraft is the perfect way to make your path if you don't believe in Gods.
sadie2melw atheist can be religious the only thing that makes one an atheist is not believing in a God
UwU!
Welcome! Have fun on your journey!!
I use a small binder for my spell book (I'm not wiccan, just a witch so I pretty much just have technical things in there) and I love it because I'm the type of person that needs things to be organized so using a binder that I can reorganize is great for me.
Wicca is so beautiful! The 13 goals of a Wiccan literally made my heart so happy ❤️
This is so much to process, you helped me find my starting path and my book of shadows! Thank you so much!!!
Wicca is a religion and witchcraft is practice. I follow Hinduism as a religion and practice witchcraft by combining Hinduism and witchcraft .
Sounds like it is similar.
@@paigeobrien4702 thanks! I was curious too and didn't really get the differences but now it's clear
Thank you

I want to be honest, i love your videos and i love your personality, you are gorgeous, and I found your channel when searching about wicca, i kind of have feelings about wicca and for some strange reason i feel something like a calling.. i dont really know how to explain it but i am a little bit scared of what can happen if i become a wiccan, since it is not something you can talk about here in paraguay, because in latinoamerica i dont feel like is that known, i dont know how to explain like they are different religions of the native people here but my family is catholic, most of my friends are, i am scared of what they can think of me if i talk to them about it, i seriously dont know how to explain myself lol
Anyways, thank you for the informative videos always and for being open to us
It’s completely normal to feel fear over practicing witchcraft

Ooh! Please do a video on candle magic! It's my fav and I want to hear what you think about it :)

Could you make a video on how to burn sage to cleanse up yourself/room/apartment/house?

Thank you for your response!
My soon-to-be book of shadows is red and in the top right hand corner it says "Happy & Love"😂
😂😂 Mine is black with a rune that protects it and makes it successful and I wrote a beginning with a pentagram and a cross in the middle and stuff
I just bought a blank hardcover sketchbook and I’m gonna paint something on it. I’m scared to start writing for some reason agh
Toby Crabe mine is a sky blue binder full of loose leaf lol! I want to put something on the cover but I'm not sure what. Perhaps a sigil of some sort

If any of that made sense, I'm mostly experimenting 😅
Lmk if this is a completely wrong way to do it or if anyone has any tips. Greatly appreciated. Peace.
(I've been going back and forth about really joining this type of world for a couple of years, and have Very basic and diverse knowledge from the small amount of research I've done)
Mine is only 70 pages and spiral bound. I'm already 10 pages in and I only have the Wiccan rede and some stuff about the sabbats.
