Right on! I live in Griffintown and am always telling guests to my home the great history of Griffintown. This video says it all, excellent job! As we are on the eve of a huge mega project, video's such as this will serve as a reminder of the great history of Griffintown.
My great great grandfather immigrated to Halifax from Ireland.I moved to Montreal as a teenager met someone from Point St Charles a few years later and could never figure out my instant love of The point my first time there.I found out the history of my mothers side Irish many years later and was like wow...That I should connect without even knowing my Irish heritage was amazing to me.I love Point St Charles and Griffin Town it is very sad to see the change.
I'd like to know who put this together. I used to ride my bike though the area to the south shore, under the Bonaventure auto-route and along the canal, not realizing the history beneath my tires. My grandfather lived in Goose Village and the Pointe. I spent time in the area visiting my grandparents on Wellington. Later I would live in St Henri and work in an old converted factory on the banks of the Lachine Canal.
I'm Irish, just moved to Canada and Montreal 3 months ago and this video is very interesting. I will have to go down to Pointe St Charles and see it for myself. Míle buíochas!
I feel for all your losses,,I grew up in the Pointe as an imagrant from Ottawa ,,But was Placed at Shawbridge where I learned a trade which I still ply 32 years later as a truck techician and love it in a dealership,,,,,,I do miss the Pointe
Was born and raised in the Point and have the scarred knuckles to prove it. I was always proud to say I was from the Point but Montreal and Quebec, out of their linguistic and cultural insecurity have ruined any Scots-Irish historical fabric that was once very strong. Am out west now and glad to see the back of that bereft province.

This video is awesome considering that it is made completely of still photos. Remember the opposite of wealth isn't poverty, it's JUSTICE. That's why the rich got away with destroying a poor n'hood...we will never get justice will we?

Of course no trip to the Pointe would have been complete without a visit to Magnan's (now closed) who served for 82 years. (1932 - 2014)
Nice see my old area

why was St. Annes demolished? every temple is sacred! it better not have been some stupid zoning issue.
