- Wow, was this game really THAT sinful? I mean I don’t remember Nicktoons Unite exactly being a MASTERPIECE, but I remember it being better than THIS. Now as harsh as I’m being on this game, I don’t think it’s necessarily BAD, just very, VERY sinful. BTW thanks to Ghabulous Ghoti for the footage of some of the glitches.

Obligatory sinning myself for not playing this one (or for that matter, any in this game series). *selfding* With that said, though, I have watched quite a bit of all four represented shows, albeit not in well over a decade.

@@meta527II I think it's also the one where you got the least sins as well. *;)* The reference with Bear!Cyborg is to the original Teen Titans animated series, more specifically from the episode "Bunny Raven... or ...How to Make A Titananimal Disappear". Yet another show I recommend, and this was one of my favorite episodes of the series... though I'll never understand why they didn't shorten it to "Titanimal".

@@ethnictendo Not bad for one you did in one go, I could see that being one of the false openings in Truth or Square (even if that episode did get a lot of probably-deserved hate)
The fact how this was actually *THE FIRST* video game I actually played when I was really young brings back 10 second memories of saying, *"This is honestly a good crossover game!"* and I still say that to this day!
Its still a good game, the bosses were the best part

I barely heard anything about this game, but it’s actually kinda funny that they put Plankton’s “lab”, in the game
In regards to the Flying Dutchman not having his crew in "Ghost Host," I think it's important to understand that Spongebob Squarepants doesn't have a coherent story or timeline.
The way I see it, each episode is a self-contained story. Heck, most of these shows follow this formula (except Danny Phantom). Jimmy Neutron did occasionally try maintain continuity, and I guess Fairly Odd Parents did the same later on with the introduction of Poof, but Spongebob has no canon.
Tell that to Squilliam Returns, Krabby Road, Bubbles Buddy Returns, and the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes. ...Most of them, anyway.

Great video, dude! Battle for Volcano Island is actually pretty great, often considered the best Nicktoons game, heck it even has an original villain.
They didn't give up the writers.

This game was a classic but even at 8 years old I knew it had problems, I remember the game glitched at the part in planktons factory making the generator indestructible

22:34 Honestly, I'd argue that Battle for Volcano Island & Attack of the Toybots are actually better. Globs of Doom, no, but the former two, they definitely build and improve upon the foundation that Nicktoons Unite set with their own unique ideas. -Also, I have to give a personal recommendation to the DS port of Attack of the Toybots for having a kickass OST composed by the man behind DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal's soundtracks.-

@@lightninggear0131 I have never heard of Battle For Volcano Island. I saw Attack of the Toybots at Wal-Mart a long time ago and I’ve seen cutscenes from Globs of Doom, though.

I wouldn't say accident, but I believe he was commissioned for some Attack of Titan art recently and it was found out he traced some fanart from a Japanese artist.

Can’t wait to play this one again! Atm I’ve been playing the gba version that I grew up with. Full of nostalgia. Straight to the point but it’s still fun. Thank goodness Netflix has fairly odd parents to watch lol.

I have a few sins you missed (not that I blame you, this game has a LOT of them):
- Cosmo appears in the Crocker's Fortress level despite also being Timmy's gun
- There's a giant hole in the wall early on in Crocker's Fortress. You can actually clip through it and get stuck falling in a loop out of bounds
- If you get hit while in the first few frames of your death animation, you'll actually lose an additional life. This can get really bad when a multihit move kills you, since you can be completely drained of your lives in a fraction of a second. This actually happened to us in our LP, where we went from 10 lives on one frame, 3 lives on the next, and then 0 on the next after that
- This game had three sequels
Excellent work here! I'm glad you were able to make use of my footage to save yourself the time trying to recreate a few of these bugs.
Great to see you here! And I didn't know about the whole "hit when in the first few frames of your death animation" thing! I probably would have given like 10 or 20 sins if I knew about that!
@@meta527II That happened to us during the Plankton fight, although we didn't realize in the main video. I made an epilogue to the episode where I explained the glitch, it's pretty awful :(
@James Vaughan It controlled way worse, the physics were ultra jank, it was a glitchy unfinished disaster, and in a few areas the visuals actually looked worse/had less detail than the original (such as Sand Mountain, the Dutchman's Graveyard, etc.)
Rehydrated was a solid effort by Purple Lamp but they weren't given enough time or budget to make it even remotely good. Easily the worst remake I've ever seen, I have virtually no reason to ever touch it again since the original is a better experience all around IMO.
@James Vaughan Power to you if you didn't notice any of these, but they completely ruined the game for myself and a decent number of other people. Believe me, I'm envious of you because I really wanted to like Rehydrated, but it was non-stop disappointment for me when I LP'd it on my channel.

The game's idea seems pretty unique but they could've fix the story and the whole game and they should stop reusing the same sprites over and over.

I would have too agree with some of the opinions here. Like honestly it makes no sense for spongebob to realize they were Ghosts and freak out. One of the recurring characters is THE LITTERAL FLYING DUTCHMAN! The characters also really do get annoying after saying the same lines over and over. the music barley exists and I don't get why happy music plays in crokers fortress. I laughed a bit at some stuff you did with the sins (like how you gave the counter 50000 more when talking about the annoying lines). I really like this video and hope you keep up with this content (as well as your lawl but that's a once in a blue moon thing for another time)
The game actually does have a somewhat-reasonable amount of songs.

Loved this game as a kid. Seeing it now, and replaying it, I wonder and I'm not sure if they explained it, but how did Professor Calamatus even steal the prints for Jimmy's machine in the first place??

I my opinion this game has the best upgrade system out of the other games since a lot of the abilities are helpful. oh and not to be mean dude but I really like the level when we're in goddard I do agree it is to long but I think it's still fun.

It’s not exactly final level material in terms of where it’s placed in the story, but the epic music, tricky platforming, difficult enemy guantlets and the Memories that make good use of Timmy’s, Danny’s and Spongebob’s movesets definitely give it a climactic feel. Besides, if it was short, it’d be anti-climactic. We needed at least one proper level in Retroville. Jimmy’s Lab is just the hub, none of the additional rooms are necessary. Which reminds me of a missed sin: why don’t we go to the hovercraft to trigger Fantastic Voyage of Goddard? We ride it inside of him, yet interact with the Universe Portal to start the level instead.

I remember this game it was good because I finally beat every level but it was worth it until the May the second and third game of Nicktoons universe.

The GBA version and DS version are both single player games with no multiplayer
You can only use Two Characters in the GBA version, while you can only use One Character in the DS version
The music is good, at least

Volcano Island was the only sequel I liked better than this game. Toybots is horribly boring imo. Globs of Doom was ok.

Battle for Volcano Island, and Attack of the Toybots are actually decent games that serve as proper follow-ups but Globs of Doom yeah that game sucks.

@@meta527II It might have to do with your voice being a mismatch for the equipment you use. For example, a quiet person with a non-sensitive microphone setup will likely never be heard, even if the volume is turned up, which isn't very good for those that watch several different types of UA-camrs with many different voices. But a loud speaker with a sensitive setup will have a higher chance of blowing out their microphone, hence why the audio will sound a little scratchy if it picks up anything louder than a relaxed indoor voice.
