How cool! What an opportunity to meet someone that took a chance on car from a brand new division and to hold on to that car for so many decades! I can't wait to see it in the celebration coming up.
That’s crazy! Such a beautiful color and he did take a gamble. Heck I don’t believe buying the first year of a new generation but buying a brand new whole make is wild.
That's cool you were able to meet up with the original owner and get the back story and some nice original items. I've done the same with a few of my cars and was always met with an original owner who was so happy I had contacted them
This looks and sounds like this was an awesome opportunity. You just never know what treasures can be found by simply connecting with others. Good stuff!
Great story on a tried and tested car brand ( Acura/Honda) for a car to serve you for over 3 decades is a testament to the brand and to enthusiast who care for them! Tyson I'm sure you'll add another 3 decades of life to this one!!
This is a special episode. I've always wanted to know what it was like to purchase a car the first year of the brand in 86'. It must have been wild for Ron to cruise the streets in a brand new Legend back then.
This is a really good story. I love your t-shirt in this video. Simple. Have you ever thought about signing that shirt or another one similar, and raffle it off? Contest or something else? Ebay auction?
You really deserve a TV series. What you have been able to accomplish as an enthusiast is absolutely remarkable. I love following your journey.
That means a lot Rick! And likewise!

Thanks Ian :)
What a wholesome full circle moment ! Thanks for sharing
For reals! Unexpected but fun.

Totally agreed!
You hit the jackpot and so did Ron, a true enthusiast. It’s obvious he’s quite pleased the car found its way to you.
I agree, I'm glad we got connected randomly via this project
It’s allways a pleasure to follow your journey ❤
Thanks for tuning in :)

Definitely, I bet he never thought he would hear about the car again

Couldn't agree more. Thanks Michael!
Thank you, Tyson, this is awesome!
@@KingCarlofcarlWorld hey thanks for watching it!
This is automotive archeology at its finest. Thank you for documenting and preserving this historically significant information!!!
Absolutely! I hope Acura HQ takes a similar approach for the 40th anniv!
I had an '87 Legend 4dr. Owned it for 20yrs. Bought it in Monterey, when we had an Acura dealership on the Peninsula. Love the car.
That's awesome! And I love Monterey
A Legend, EM1 and a 6 speed Accord? Ron sure knows what the good stuff is!
That's for sure!
This is truly amazing :)
Thanks Charles

Thanks sir, means a lot!
Amazing you two got to connect. So glad that worked out! Also great to see you on another whirlwind trip!
Likewise!

Right? Would have made for some fun gas station conversations
Love this!!!
Thank you!
That’s an awesome story! Just remember that $10,000 dollars back in the mid 80s is over $30,000 in today’s money.
That's true!
That’s amazing! I’m sorry, I would’ve definitely asked for the floor mats. Maybe even offer him a high dollar amount.
Haha, I did already find another used set but Ron's are in better condition. I'll hit him up again in the future.
Great story! 👍
Thanks Eric!
So cool
Thank you!
oh... I wish we connected. I'm in Bay Area as well. Hopefully next time.
I don't have any contact for you, not sure how we would have!
@@TysonHugie I will email you my info. :)

A friend gave me that shirt! I'm not sure where it came from. I don't think anyone really wants my signature that badly, haha
I am sure Ron doesn't realize how
how important those floor mats are and how nice it would be if they were back on the floor of the
Legend.😉
Haha I know!
If an American Airline aircraft mechanic loves the ACURA brand that reinforces my hunch I’ve got a Kick Ass Car👍. And he use to own a CUTLASS 442👀
Definitely! I agree!
