Just love the scene where he’s lying in the back and the main concern is “can I move a tiny bit, sit up , and fall into the water “ 😂😂😂that’s a fellas proper thinking. ❤️
My father got, I believe, the first Red/Red 900 Ems in Germany. To this day the magic of sight, touch and sssssounds lives with me. It really felt like flying a super luxurious plane. Thanks Dad, thanks Saab. ♥️🌻:)
There are some great anecdotes in this, like the reason for the 1.8m flat floor and how a melting clay model defined the tail. His daughter's hidden design sketch was cute too
big thank you for the video! the 900 is my lifetime favourite car, and so nice to see Mr. Envall and the others who gave life to this top desing automobile
Thank you Mr. Envall & the rest of the team that completed the making of the (Saab 900 Classic) A very special & most intriguing vehicule to say the least ! It was a pleasure to see the real people that were behind this intelligent head turning car ! molto grazie ! (owner of a commemorative edition # 186 convertible)
I just purchased a 1991 Turbo S 16v APC from an old guys driveway where it had been sat 17 years! Got it started with half a crank last weekend. Wonderful car!!!
Mr Envall was truly ahead of his time. His modular approach to chassis design (seen at 20:00) perfectly describes the Audi/VW "MQB" platform, which underpins everything from the Audi TT to the VW Arteon. It is a shame that GM management choose to get rid of talent like him just to save money. People like Mr Envall had the skills and knowledge that defined the very essence of SAAB. GM's ownership of SAAB should go down in automotive history as a salutory lesson in how not to nuture a car brand. I hope SAAB is revived one day, hopefully under more enlightened owners.
Thanks for making this. I can’t believe I’m only seeing this now! This insight is invaluable to a Saab enthusiast. So nice to hear about the details and thought processes behind the design icon that is the classic 900.
All credit goes to the original documentary makers from Holland, but their DVD from 2010 appears out of print, people at the Saab Club were unable to find it, so I put my copy online.
Beautiful & fantastic story Bjorn inspired intelligence made saab scania ahead of it's time & it still is I would love to meet these men like classic saabs
Sure they are. They just don't realize it... and if they do they get silenced. It's why I taught my kids to question everything and understand the difference between popular opinion and high quality.
The Saab 900 Turbo Aero one of the most beautiful car ever created. I love it, would love to have the money to convert one with a replacement electric motor to be able to run it for the next 30 years.
Many thanks for great upload vid . Bye the way this is my 44th car and first Saab . I'm looking forward to trying to bring her back to her formal glory.
Delighted to have just acquired a beautiful 900i💚thanks Bjorn

The most valuable video seen so far on UA-cam about 900 and Saab in general....same time quite depressing, but that's life and rules of evolution.
Thank you. really fantastic film . I'm a proud owner of a 900 turbo SAAB. First it belonged to my mother then it will belong to my daughter.

Intelligent people made an icon of an intelligent automobile. Beautiful documentary.
People like these are not born anymore.
