Jane Rose played Edith Bunker's Aunt Clara on "All In The Family" and was one of the original cast members on the long-running CBS soap opera "Love Of Life."
14:54- Audrey had just said she fell in love with Lars's father Gunnar right after Pearl Harbor had gotten bombed (December 7,1941) then Phyllis said she'd met Lars while he was stationed in Cleveland during the Korean Conflict but the US involvement in that was from July 1,1950 and the Truce wouldn't be signed until July 27,1953. Unless Lars was between at least eight and eleven years old when he joined the Army, NO WAY could Audrey have borne him early enough to have grown up to have courted and married Phyllis by 1953. Whoever wrote this SURE fell asleep in the math department! Oh, and considering that the Fall of Saigon was April 30,1975 and this episode aired February 2,1976, it seems a bit premature that they'd be wishing for a war for Bess to find her own husband.
And I am sure that you are one of like maybe five people who ever noticed that error. This is not the kind of thing that anyone usually pays much attention to, or if they do, they're like "oh well."
If I am not mistaken, Susan Lanier, who played Corky, was the original choice for Chrissy on "Threes Company" - she and one other actress were up for the part and I think Susan was in one of the pilots that they filmed. This was before even Joyce DeWitt was cast as Janet. And then, Susan had the rug pulled out from under her after being told she had it - they gave it to Suzanne Somers. Susan was hurt by it, naturally. But she did keep acting for quite awhile longer, never becoming really famous. Rumor has it that the guy who played Jim the Bartender on the show ran into Susan at the supermarket one day many years later, he remembered that she was originally cast as Chrissy. When he introduced himself, she was like "Oh yeah hi, nice seeing you again - that was a horrible experience I had on Threes Company!"
She in some ways made the show bearable. She was in just under half of the episodes produced - I think 23 out of 48. Without her, it just would've been incredibly blah. Apparently her first episode was also going to be her last but when she made such a splash they kept having her back for more and even married her off! By the end of the second year, she and Burt Mustin were dead.
John McMartin was a great actor. I think he was better known in the theatrical community than on TV. He did a REALLY good episode of the Bob Newhart Show playing the reverend Dan Bradford who leaves the clergy because it has caused too many conflicts with his personal life.
That "broadway number" type intro was starting to get a tad out of date. They could've lured in composer Patrick Williams to compose a "big band-with funk" theme.
That Mother Dexter was SO funny!😂

Yes, I noticed that, too.

He was the priest on Golden Girls who had a date with Dorothy.
Jerome married a child, with that age difference it's ridiculous.
He goes from 1 extreme to the next, lol.
That girl Played Chrissy in the second pilot of Threes Company.
The picture's so blurry I can't see her features.
She was also one of the stars of THE HILLS HAVE EYES (1977).
