Great video Jamie. Taking on an existing Costume Jewelry small business and will be new to QB. After listening to your video, does Simple Start also track inventory and items to be shipped out to customers or does that fall to Plus version? Thanks for your time.
I'm still extremely frosted about their move to the SAAS model and it is bending small business over backwards with their pricing. I moved from QBD (Professional Services Edition) to QBO (Essentials because that is what my company could afford) and lost a boat-ton load of functionality. Complaints fall on deaf ears at Intuit. They have abandoned their core market.
Jamie, Thank you for the information, very well done... I'm still trying to figure out which online version is right for my business... I'm a General Contractor, currently one person, and semi-retired... I have been using desktop pro, and have 2024 installed, but refuse to be held up for 1K a year for the updates... I'm thinking simple start? Would my existing desktop pro convert to that one ok?? Please advise
Great question, I think it needs more detail than I can anwser in the comments section here. I would love for you to submit it to my live show here, so I can anwser it better for you: www.JamieTrull.com/UA-cam
Jaime, I signed up to Quickbooks with your link, but it does not appear to be working.. We have decided to upgrade so that 3 users may have sign ons. What do I need to provide to you to get the upgrade for Quickbooks?
Hi Jenn! Email my team at support@balancecfo.com and we can help you out and alert our QB contacts! Just send over your Quickbooks Company ID and which version you are wanting to use.
My Bruder abs I just started a business together. We do house painting, lawn care, landscaping, etc. I need to create bids, invoice, do ach, create agreements/ contracts, keep track of potential and existing clients, etc. Sounds like Plus will be best, but open to your thoughts 😀
Great question, I would love to answer that for you on my next live show! You can submit this question here for me to answer: www.JamieTrull.com/UA-cam
HI - Hoping I can get some direction. I had been using an old desktop version for years without upgrading. I felt I should upgrade to a newer version as I was getting away with using Quickbooks 2016. I am a Mac user. My company needs are very very basic - just using general invoicing, receiving payments and deposits. I also use the reporting feature for my accountant for tax filing. I tried to purchase Quickbooks desktop version but they discontinued it as of Oct 1st. I signed up for Simple Start but they told me I have no option of saving my stuff if for some reason I lose everything. They talked me into Online Advanced. I previously always just backed up my computer so my Quickbooks was safe. Advanced is so much $$$. Do I really need Advanced to protect my business data. Was I just upsold?
This really depends on all your business needs. If it is as basic as you say simple start or essentials should work. But make sure to watch all my Quickbooks videos comparing the different plans to make sure :)
Hi Jamie! Would you recommend the Simple Start Plan for people who are just starting out & don't have a business licences? Or at what point would you think you should start considering Quickbooks? I'm still debating a license but I also am terrified of Tax Season lol
Hey there! So regardless of whether you have a business license, taxes are still required to be paid off of any profit. Business licenses are really more about telling local authorities that you have a business but they don't impact the IRS or taxes. If you are making an income, you'll have to report for taxes. You could definitely start with Simple Start, or if you are just starting, you may just want to keep a list of your income and expenses until your business is up and running and avoid the monthly fees. You could snag my P&L template for a one-time cost if you want to use that ;) jamietrull.com/profitloss
Yep correct - it would adjust to the current price after the 12 month discount. Note that you also get a free trial, so really it is 13 months before you have to pay full price.
I will have me as one employee. I"ll be paying contractors and be paying some equipment. Also want to keep track of what I take in and pay out for contractors and business expenses. What plan do you recommend ?
Are you using this link? jamietrull.com/quickbooks ? That should take you to my Quickbooks landing page where you can see "Save 30% for 12 months" under each option.
This really depends on your unique needs. I would recommend weighing the pros and cons I outline in this video to make the best decision, but I really do love Quickbooks plus.
I am currently using the desktop version to handle simple bookkeeping for over 20 companies. If I switch to online I will have to pay for each individual company which is quite expensive. Are they discontinuing the desktop version? Do you have any other recommendations? Any other cloud basedrecommendations? Thank you so much.
@@bshubo I am literally just starting out and looking to do simple bookkeeping for multiple companies, and I have this question as well. I did not realize, (until yesterday when I downloaded QBO), that each company will need a subscription. Any advice????
Same situation for me. I'm planning to start a Bookkeeping business using QBO. I did not realize I needed to pay a monthly fee per company until recently. The only logical work around I can think of at this point is, to charge the customer the fee through my monthly service fee. Any suggestions for this?
Great video maam! I have a partnership, just me and my wife. We have a UA-cam channel along with one product selling on Amazon fba. We currently use excel. I am thinking simple start. Let me know your thoughts if this is the right choice for me. Thank you so much for your time!
You can always start out with Simple Start and then upgrade or downgrade as needed. I would check out the features comparison and just make sure it has everything you would want! I will say that Simple Start is geared more toward service vs. product businesses, so you might just want to make sure it has what you need.
I have self employed currently but it does not allow me to enter wages and salary for my employees. The only option is contract labor. I don’t need payroll service I just need to be able to categorize paychecks. Which one would allow me to do this?
Don't use any version of QuickBooks unless you only import data from a web app. They started removing that ability in versions 2019 and older all together and 2024 means a world of hurt for anyone with an existing general ledger.
To qualify my statements, I have spend the last two months fighting with clients and lawyers over QB choice to go webapp only. And staying on an unsupported version won't save you, even though you bought the software with the ability to drop it in through the .exe, they removed it. 2020-2023 desktop is the only versions that can still perform local imports, for now.
@@JamieTrullnever could figure out why some folks can't give positive criticism. I guess Junior's feelings were hurt sometime in the past. You've got a good channel.

Same thoughts here. Have been using Desktop since the early 90's and unfortunately will go kicking and screaming to the online platform.

Unfortunately, the deals only apply to new QBO users!

Thanks for the Video. Can your promo work for us in Canada? I want to sign up for Quickbooks Online in Canada. Thanks.
Your video shows the price as$21/month the website shows $24. Am I looking in the wrong place or is that the pricing? I’m a first time buyer
Make sure you are using my link in the description of the video. This is the best pricing you can get.
Quickbooks changes their pricing frequently so the prices themselves will change, but we're still able to offer the best discount on current prices.
