At the 17:00 mark, if you would have looked to your left (north side of track) you would have seen one or two MA&PA doors from a box car laying against that concrete wall.

Nice trail .I agree ,you can enjoy nature bettercwhen you go slow .
What happened to those tracks ?
Is it closed down ,no trains anymore?

Did not see a train while I was there. But I'm sure I read something about the tunnel being the oldest tunnel with trains still traveling through it. Maybe just tour trains. I should do more research on Howard Tunnel.

      Sam. Found this.
Howard Tunnel, the oldest continuously operating railroad tunnel in the world! The brick-lined, 370-foot tunnel originally opened for traffic in 1883.

Wow ,that's really old .The tunnel looks very nice ,but the tracks look like they're in a bad shape .
I found pictures of old steamloks driving trough the tunnel .I guess they do this from time to time ,but no official trains anymore .
Thank you for the information Dave 😊.

Hey Dave, Saturday is completely open for me if you are still interested in working on a project. Early is always better for me.

Which hike would you want. Whipple dam with rhodies may be half over. Jarrett falls not sure how much flow. Bob mentioned a bear meadows trail which would be new to us all. Or alan seeger old growth plus from there we could hike to old fire tower cant go up though.

@@dayhikedave I definitely want to visit Alan Seeger. I have done Bear Meadows before but never filmed there. Detweiler Run natural area is also right there and has a nice stretch of thick rhodies along standing stone creek. I'm alittle reluctant to do the fire tower cause it is quite steep and it will be hot. Whipple works for me if early because that place will get crowded. I guess if I had my choice I would like to do Detweiler Run, or Bear Meadows along with Alan Seeger.

@@dayhikedave that sounds perfect. We can take things from there and see where the trail leads us so to speak! I'm looking forward to it.

      Cross Pennsylvania Adventure Trail.
Not a rail trail. Uses roads. Never tried it.

Very nice. Cool tunnel. The birds were just singing up a storm. I think I should have found a job working on a train. How cool would that be? 🙂🛤️🚂🚇🚞🌱☘️
