2024-01-21 Mormon Well Road

On Saturday, the day before, we ran the Kodachrome Road and Lava Butte trail loop. Next day, Sunday, we did a short notice impromptu run on Mormon Well Road. First time on this trail and I must say, it was 45 miles, well spent. I was surprised with an awesome view of the side of a mountain which had a big cave. Further into the trail leading up to the camp site, I was very surprised with the amount of vegetation, and the break in the normal desert landscape coloring. I started to get Northern California vibes, i.e. Lake Berryessa, etc. Finally, we all got what we were anticipating, snow. Such a nice change from all the desert trail dust.
