Made this today using your other video where you mention how to find chunk borders for bedrock. With that said, i agree with everyone else who is mentioning that you should preface the build by mentioning how it needs to be fully built within chunk borders. Easy build to follow, though!

I just created this on 1.21 Minecraft realms (23rd of June 2024). It works perfectly. This thing is amazing. Going to try to get as much bonemeal as I can before they patch it. My only suggestion would be to specify the chunk border at the beginning (divisible by 16 rule to easily specify it at the beginning) and also the walking away thing. I built it, ran it and walked away so I had to rebuild the entire thing and move it from a chunk border. EDIT: Also if anyone is having an issue where the sand drops constantly, or the farm isn't working after second use, make sure you check behind the composters for the sand that is infront of the sticky pistons. I couldn't figure out why mine wouldn't work a second round and it's due to the sand there disappearing.
I’m on 1.20 bedrock on realms, for some reason sometimes both layers of sand break, therefore stopping kelp growth. does you know how to fix this? I built it within one chunk.
If anyone has an issue with getting the kelp to grow. Adjust the repeater speed on the back of the lever. I had an issue with the pistons move too quick so kelp wouldnt grow.

Apparently the sand blocks on the sticky pistons are updating the kelp growth. He did mention that. I was very confused about the water placement. I figured it out by removing the top slabs and trap doors, then going in to place the water blocks on the back side above the pistons. I had initially put the water blocks right on the pistons and it all flowed out the back and washed away my redstone. So the water needs to go in the bottom row above the sand where the kelp is planted and above the pistons flowing down, which gives the kelp some room to grow upward. Then I replaced the slabs and trap doors one block space higher, which didn't interfere with the water blocks. Then I added a second row of signs above the first row to make the kelp flow toward the hoppers like he originally mentioned, just needed a second row. I did have to go underneath and remove the sand that fell and replace the sand blocks in front of the sticky pistons. While I have been typing this I got four more stacks of bonemeal. Works great, but it's very tall and very loud. Much better and easier than the last one I tried.

You should talk about the dimensions at the beginning of the video. I thought I had the perfect spot for this, but the area I was going to build it in was too small. I had to make adjustments to fit it where I wanted it.
I stacked this farm on top of your sugarcane farm so i don't have to replenish the bonemeal. I wired up both farms to the same redstone clock and the kelp wasn't growing. I changed the delay on the first repeater to 1 click and now the kelp is growing. The sugarcane wasn't growing, so I had to put the repeater by the dispenser to 2 clicks. It seems slower than either farm individually, but I can fully AFK the sugarcane farm now! Thanks!
I did the same thing on our old realm and had a massive 14 tier creeper tower with a service station, built onto it with 2, yes two, 10block wide, bonemeal generators feeding in to a 6wide sugarcane generator then that sugarcane was rerouted to a converter room when it stack up and could be sent to a sorting system that brought it by mine cart to the front area of the tower where all the paper was stored 😬😵💫🤓
In the event that you need to troubleshoot this machine, there are two fixes. The first is mentioned in the video. You have to ensure that no sand falls to the bottom and the machine can be restarted by removing the sand that fell and replacing it. You can make a two wide hole on the side of the build to easily access this. Or use a trap door to force crawl mode and access it that way. If this doesnt fix the machine you may have to remove the first layer of blocks to expose the sticky pistons. If there is no sand attached to the piston you will not get the kelp grow rates shown. You must reattach the sand and the device should be fine. You can make the build cheaper by replacing the bottom hopper with a minecart with hopper, rails, and some powered rails, and rig that up woth a repeater and wiring so that when you turn on the machine the minecart collects the bonemeal and deposits it in an adjacent chest. Awesome build!

I’ve used several of your farms in my current world, they all work perfectly and I love your videos! My only critique would be to show the full farm at the beginning so we can see what we’re building and how much space it needs/where to put it around home base
I really like this because it makes a lot of bone meal and doesn’t use any resources but if kinda annoying when you forget to turn it off before going somewhere else and come back to it being broken
I just got this working today on Bedrock. I also scaled it down to 3 instead of 5 and it still works. Thanks. At first it was broken but I replaced the sand and kelp and started it again and all was OK. TY
@@Symplistic45same here it worked at first then I logged off and played again. The farm just breaks and the sand keeps falling through the piston even though I have changed the pistons to non-sticky, changed the ticks and it still doesn’t work for me😢
@@aminotpepsi hopefully you figured it out by now, but it all has to be in the same chunk. He explained it in a more recent video. I don’t know why he didnt in this one.
Oh my god! This machine is beautiful! I built it in survival. It outperformes cactus farns for bonemeal by miles. And i guess it can easily be used for producing kelp blocks too, if the kelp is fed into furnaces for drying.
I make 2 of them and use the second one like you said but i use smokers. im not sure if it's changed since the last time i made it but the smokers also held onto all of the XP from cooking the kelp if you had hoppers pulling out the cooked kelp. With this i used a lever and redstone to turn off the hoppers and got loads of XP when grabbing the kelp from the smoker. I used it as my instant repair for any mending item and also free easy fuel from kelp blocks that you can then use in the smokers.
@@sageledet1848 Smokers are faster than smelters here. And manually emptying them now and then emits all accumulated XP. I figured out that drying kelp with kelp blocks work best if the kelp is accumulated in larger batches for the ovens. Otherwise it consumes too much fuel.
i’ve been hopping around creators to find different farms and i gotta say your videos help a ton and are super simple. i find the more i watch these farm tutorials i pickup tidbits of what works and why, some of the complex ones are too much for my brain but again your videos help convey it clearly. maybe explain what some of the mechanisms do like the redstone clock and the sticky piston trick so people can fully learn and experiment on their own. great job keep it up!
I literally just made this as well but I made 4 of them 10 pistons wide I put 2 machines on top of each other fit them into 1 chunk and I am now getting a full double chest of bonemeal every 5 minutes.
As of 1/27/24 it works I unfortunately had to rebuild it because it was not fully in one chunk as he mentioned at the end of the video 😭. It’s been running for about maybe 5 mins now and have 3 stacks , will be using this as a kelp and bonemeal farm 🔥

After the 1.20.50 update the sand attached to the stick pistons (NOT the one kelp is on) randomly breaks after a while. You need to replace that for the farm to work again...
Omg that just happened to me today , yeah I noticed the sand was glitchy and broke the farm , how do I fix it exactly? , thanks for the help In advance bro
@@DeathRGH yes I figured that , I did replace the sand but it keeps on breaking , not as in the sand falling , what it is is that whenever I pull the level to start the farm it works for like 1 second then stops and breaks again , like if I spam click the level it works but if I click it and leave it I’ll break after a second , what I mean by it breaking is that the kelp just doesn’t grow for the pistons to break , any idea how to fix it ? Haven’t seen anyone have this issue..
@@Laith-A make sure all 10 sandblocks are placed as in the video and all 5 slabs on top are waterlogged with a water source. Also make sure it is all built in 1 single chunk!
If you place a trap door on over the hole on the opposite side of the clock, when sand falls below the pistons it well force you to crouch if you open it and then you can crawl under for repairs. Also you can swap composers with furnaces for dry kelp and then crafters afterwards for blocks. A good way is swap the outside 2 so you can set up a barrel and hopper to put the blocks in for fuel and swap the middle for a chest. This will give you 2 layers of block and 2 layer of bone meal and 1 layer of kelp. 4 item from the same farm.
Alternatively, you can always just get your kelp the fun way by diving in to get it before the hoppers. Which means you can just leave the middle 3 for bonemeal. And if you know what you're doing, you can set up a minecart track or any other item train to get the block to the barrels from the ends to keep the fuel automated.
This worked for weeks then stopped unexpectedly. Kelp will break and will not regenerate. I checked for sand at the bottom. Not on a chunk border and didn't leave the area. Afk in the chunk for an hour and seems to have broken. Any other troubleshooting steps? May just build it again
The other zero tick farms are patched, but jc always finds a way to surpass that! Keep up the good work! Ps.pls make a new witch & guardian farm. That would be helpful.
This farm is amazing 💯💯 I built 4 in two chunks side by side and hoooooly does it produce. I’m talking over 8000 bonemeal an our for all four. Def gonna be more than enough, this tutorial was super simple to follow that I only needed to watch it twice for two of the farms and I could the rest from memory. Better than another farm I tried to do that didn’t work at all 😂
1. Doesn’t work for me in bedrock 1.20, just breaks the kelp at the root. 2. Gotta put the chunk-alignment warning at the beginning at the *beginning* of the video, it’s not very useful at the end. Prerequisites at the beginning is pretty basic logic
Make sure you're chunk aligned. If your farm is in a chunk border it will break. So check your coordinates and make sure on the x and z coordinate you're within 0-16, 17-32, 33-48 and so on (I may be off by one on each coordinate, but you can still easily fit this within a 16x16)
@@doubleeggenglish I know but it usually just stops producing kelp and you can replant it but once in a millennium it just stops working completely even when you replant the kelp
Thanks again Jason. Another farm that works on Bedrock without fail. I've never watched a video of yours that was BS and for that and all your hard work, I thank you for making minecraft work so I can work less lol
does anybody have any troubleshooting advice for when the farm only works once, directly after hitting the lever, then the kelp stops getting produced?
If the repeaters aren't an issue with your farm check the sand behind the composters, usually if you pull the switch and it immediately breaks the kelp, either the sand behind the composters is busted or there is sand in the bottom of the farm near that middle hole. @@ztagfun4234

Yeah it's a glitch so it's not super reliable for boneneal. I'd recommend a fish farm maybe instead. Or just have this farm but with 12 kelp planted like me lol
Saint JC comes through again! I built the 10 wide version of this farm and it is a monster. Even better, you can easily convert sections of it to cooking the kelp into dried kelp for fuel, and you have infinite fuel for your Minecraft world.

@@JC_Playz I didn't think the chunk border was such an issue, but the chunk border goes right through the farm. I'm gonna fix and replace it and try again. Hope that helps. I give an update when it works
It works well now ive got the timing right. Anyone having problems with nothing happening even though you've followed the tutorial correctly, try adding another redstone clock next to the original and put the repeater on two ticks. Happy New year 🎉
The other day I made one of your farms an got furious when I couldn't get it to work! I realized following step by step is important at times! That being said thank you much man! I've used a couple of yours an they all work great! Good job!
I see a bunch of comments with my issue, where the bottom sand blocks that are supposed to be attached to the sticky pistons just break, and 0 comments about fixing the issue (only replacing them sand blocks which, you know, doesn't fix jack).
Change the composters out for chests, hoppers underneath that feed into furnaces, dig behind the furnaces and add hoppers to the back of them with a chest on top of each for fuel, add hoppers underneath furnaces that lead into one chest on either side. Place a stack of coal in each just to start then let the farm run and fill chests with kelp. The kelp with feed to furnace and cook to dried kelp and gather in the final chest then you can craft those into dried kelp blocks for a very efficient and infinite fuel source.

Built the farm and it worked great at first then when I turned it off and then back on it broke and I haven’t been able to get it to work since.

Having the same problem on all my farms of this style. I’m not sure what’s going on
Kelp farms got patched last update (1.21.30) so they re dead. I was wondering why my sand was breaking and found out the bad news today😅
Just check the pinned comment for an alternative bone meal farm if you want

I just got this working today on Bedrock. I also scaled it down to 3 instead of 5 and it still works. Thanks. At first it was broken but I replaced the sand and kelp and started it again and all was OK. TY
I’ve replaced it over and over again did you do anything different it still won’t work for me
@@Symplistic45same here it worked at first then I logged off and played again.
Do not put the Lord’s name in vain
Otherwise it consumes too much fuel.
dude apart from miscounting 1 build block this video explained everything very well thank you so much
i’ve been hopping around creators to find different farms and i gotta say your videos help a ton and are super simple. i find the more i watch these farm tutorials i pickup tidbits of what works and why, some of the complex ones are too much for my brain but again your videos help convey it clearly. maybe explain what some of the mechanisms do like the redstone clock and the sticky piston trick so people can fully learn and experiment on their own. great job keep it up!
it worked for me! this is the first red stone anything I have ever made. Thanks!
I got Java now but I’ll still watch these vids ❤

@@Laith-A at 2:00 in the video, replace those 5 sand blocks
@@DeathRGH yes I figured that , I did replace the sand but it keeps on breaking , not as in the sand falling , what it is is that whenever I pull the level to start the farm it works for like 1 second then stops and breaks again , like if I spam click the level it works but if I click it and leave it I’ll break after a second , what I mean by it breaking is that the kelp just doesn’t grow for the pistons to break , any idea how to fix it ?
And if you know what you're doing, you can set up a minecart track or any other item train to get the block to the barrels from the ends to keep the fuel automated.
if the farm does not work for you, then you are likely on a chunk border if you move the farm 2 blocks away it should start working
Really cause the sand keeps breaking and idk why

Does this works on java? When I place the redstone dust behind the sticky piston, it doesn't activated it/

Was pissed asf when I built the WHOLE fucking thing in survival for him to say at that at the very end
Thank you your builds have helped my world heaps! 😃
The sand just drops and kelp breaks
Make sure you're chunk aligned. If your farm is in a chunk border it will break. So check your coordinates and make sure on the x and z coordinate you're within 0-16, 17-32, 33-48 and so on (I may be off by one on each coordinate, but you can still easily fit this within a 16x16)
@@Kyle-pz1yjthank you
it’ll mostly happen if you leave the area if you go to far away chances are the sand will fall

@@justlegacybruz2887how fo you fix it tho
If the repeaters aren't an issue with your farm check the sand behind the composters, usually if you pull the switch and it immediately breaks the kelp, either the sand behind the composters is busted or there is sand in the bottom of the farm near that middle hole. @@ztagfun4234

For some reason the bottom row of sand breaks and disappears. You need to replace it.
One thing I noticed is when running this farm for several hours AFK it does eventually lose some kelp and I have to replant it.
Why would the farm break when you walk away?
The same thing happened with me
Saint JC comes through again! I built the 10 wide version of this farm and it is a monster. Even better, you can easily convert sections of it to cooking the kelp into dried kelp for fuel, and you have infinite fuel for your Minecraft world.
