BFV is a really underrated game, i never understood the hate it got. I was expecting to see features like the soldier editor & squad call ins to be carried over into 2042 and they never made it, such a shame
It was very mediocre especially after the bombshell that was BF1. Didn't bring anything new to the table at all and launched with a lot of negative attention.
The campaign sucked, they tried to get more woke, made lots of strange decisions for gameplay and had a ducked up launch. How do you have trouble understanding people not liking that? A few new cool features doesn’t cancel all that out.
@@ExpertContrarian at this point accusations of "woke" have just lost all meaning. One war story had you playing as a teenage girl and another as a black French colony soldier, sfw? The last one had you playing as a literal Nazi in a tiger tank. The main faults of the campaigns were them leaning in to stealth which didn't really suit and that there was only 4 of them, it would have been great to see something like Omaha Beach or Stalingrad in that engine, as much as they've both been done before. The gameplay changes - attrition system, focus on squad play (if that is what you're referring to) - were fantastic imo. They gave an MP match a sense of urgency with cool rewards and it really suited the WW2 setting without trying to be an all out war-sim
@@voorachter2733 its true that its biggest crime was coming after BF1 - even if it did make sense as a war series - but not because it was lackluster in comparison. BF1 was a phenomenal achievement because not everyone was sold on the idea of a WW1 FPS game being fun, and they proved to everyone it could be done - but true to the era, the period vehicles were clunky and slow (because they had to be) and the weapons weren't as customisable as in previous titles (because they couldn't be). To then go in to more of that old world war style with BFV left a lof of people wanting to get back to a modern setting - which they then completely muffed up with 2042 and its extensive departures from the BF model
Just picked both BFV and 2042 up, content for both keeps showing up on my youtube homepage and I've been eyeing them for a while so this sale is the perfect time to snag both!
i think 2042 would have been even bigger at this point if they had great maps. i mean look at the BF5 maps, so much versatile for all kind of players where as most of the 2042 maps are just open with out major covers. so basically you either have to play as a sniper or get inside vehicles. i might back on BFV right now. thanks for making this video.

Hope the 2/3 YT premium shared is less than a Dollar. Idea man, ideas. Not recycling, I mean .. what is this, seriously?!
They didn’t bolt all canons to the floor on naval ships. They sat on rails. Bolting canons to a ship could make it sway unpredictably so it had to be offset somehow.
Mad i missed this sale, but no way am I paying the current $50 price tag knowing it could have been had for $4. Even for $10 I would pick it up, but for the price now it may as well be unavailable.
I joined BF when they released the wake island demo back in 2002, did some developing for multiple BF2 mods and quit playing with BF4. A few months ago I came back, bought BF 1 and 5 and enjoy both big time. Great to see they still attract a big player base
Something I never hear anyone talk about with BFV is the movement, it feels so good! I love that we're able to dive to our side, or roll to our backs while prone. I also love the vaulting and climbing system, being able to jump and grab a ledge to climb on is such a cool feature.
Battlefield V has honestly been my favorite Battlefield released (I was sort of late to the party, started at the end of 4). I get the launch wasn’t great, but I thought it was insane how many people pushed this game to the side early on. And now everyone comes crawling back. I wish for nothing more than if the devs came back and added a D-Day map for Breakthrough, similar to how Iwo Jima was designed, added an Operation Market Garden map for Grand Ops, a Battle of the Bulge map for Conquest, and some Eastern Front maps as well
Had the itch and jumped back into 2042 after about a year and holy, it may not be perfect, but its a hell of a lot better. Just so addicting to play and so much fun. But now that I see BFV is getting up there in player count again, I may have to dabble with that.
It would be insane if they did surpise DLCS for bf5... honestly it would be. Ive been playing this game still since launch regardless of the high interest now and still a big fan.
I bought bf5 on sale recently, I’m a long time bf fan but never picked it up before. After I bought it I had all the dlc, all the guns unlocked at level 1, and 10,000 in game currency. The gameplay is fun and I’m happy the dlc was included, but having everything unlocked off rip makes me feel like I’m not working towards anything as I play. And since I have more than enough in game currency to spend before I likely get bored it’s the same problem. But for less than $5 it’s a hell of a deal
I agree with the longevity aspect. Graphics are just starting to get to the point of diminishing returns as well. I see hardware being able to stay relevant much longer before being outdated too. We are at the point where these graphics with good frame rates will always look pretty good even years down the road.
I was there for the original launch of the game, and man it was difficult to publicly like it. You got blasted immediately when voicing sth positive about it, and I'm truly happy that BFV is much more liked nowadays. The game deserves it!
I picked it up from the sale for the first time and have played a few hours now. It's actually really fun and the sound design is amazing! Only problem I have it my PC isn't good enough...
Thanks for letting me know on the sale. I just brought 2042, 5 and 1 for Steam. I only play these games on Xbox, but 1 and 5 are dead on console and I'd love to play them again.
Long term bf3/4 player here I played the golden era of battlefield when bf4,hardline (that’s a joke) and then bf1 were released. Everytime something new was put in bf4 cte I tested and had lots of fun. Does anybody remember the time when there were cars on the tower of Shanghai and you had to push the enemy of it? However I picked up 2042 and bfv this week and nearly instantly deleted 2042 again because it felt just wronghearing those „heros „ scream stupid shir all the time BFV on the other hand was surprisingly good fun. I really hope they do some like bf 3/4 next otherwise dice might be done.
The last battlefield I played was 1942. Hopped back in into 2042. Only reason I didn't picked up bf V was that I read that I stopped being updated and developed só I didn't felt safe investing in the game. But it's definetly the best BF game available nowadays.
Got it on sale recently, tryed BF4 but it didn't run well and there wasn't any nearby survers so i had both lag and low FPS. Really hope i can run this on my old laptop without much problems, im also a bigger fan of WWII more then modern day combat so thats a plus.
I'm so happy that people are actually playing BFV. All of the gameplay mechanics they brought into BFV create such an immersive and great experience imo. The worst thing about it is it's bare bones progression system.
You're so right about destruction, like that use to be a marketing point for DICE. Showing off destruction, showing the siege of shang hi build fall. 2042 doesn't feel like Battlefield partly bc of that lack of destruction.
It would’ve been so nice to even have other axis and allied factions such as the Italians, Vichy French vs French liberators, Chinese, and of course, the Russians. I got into the game about 6 months ago and it’s addicting! But I can’t help but feel let down at the fact that so many essential events of WWII were excluded. As you mentioned, the European theatre is lacking. Yet it would’ve been nice to see a bit more in the pacific theatre maps. Doolittle raid/ Battle of Midway would’ve been so cool as a dogfight only map. Or even Pearl Harbor.
Hear me out Battlefield: Bay Days *destruction focus is populated areas * match cinematic events ( flash floods, fire , or final destination shih) * optional ptsd like mechanics for win streaks * unique map locations ( big asp ship, detailed city, jungle)
It's the cheaters in every second match me and my friends play that breaks the deal. Playing on private servers prevents you from coming across cheaters, but not many people know about the option to play on private servers option in the lobby so the servers have problems with ''seeding'' (getting active player numbers) We would play 2042, but the cosmetics break our immersion when you get killed by a guy with a flaming skull helmet.
With all due respect, but if wtf cosmetics break your immersion in bf2042, how it's not broken 100 times more in bfv seeing the cosplayers in the game, running with golden prototype guns with reflector or telescopic sights on them?
Hello, The BFV was where the game started degrading. I did not say BFV is immersive, 2042 is just the next level. My main point was the amount of cheaters in BFV and an attempt to raise the knowledge of the private server browser in the game.@@csanadjakab7717

Tell me about it. Omg these hackers need to be banned.
On console 120 fps and no hacker ❤️
I never left bfv. Movement and gunplay is/was just dice peak
As some one who started playing Battlefield in 2023 , I absolutely love it felt like a breath of fresh air after a year of sweaty valorant , BF 1 was the one i played first during august too say i love it will be a understatement , loved the sniping , the maps , I recently got a NEW rig and have been playing a lot of 2042 its a good game for me beacuse i love sniping and it does that really well and is a good game to play if turn your brain off and chill and just have a ton of fun
The maps also look like shit - bf v looks so much better (we started playing again, and the difference is unbelievable)
100% agree and bf1 is even better and has even better maps aswell that game is such a masterpiece.
It has best maps from bad company 2 ! Such maps like desret Atacama, Valpasdo. Bad company 2 is not working now so we have to buy new bf 2042
It's crazy to me that they developed the best movement system and best destruction in the series and then completely ditched it all in 2042.
I always felt like BF2042 was just COD with the battlefield branding slapped on it 🤷♂
BFV just wasn't fun to me. My whole squad agreed. Good for you if you love it but some people just can't get on board.
Me neither. Somehow I can't get into Battlefield V.
I think the movement mechanics and general feel is nice and graphically on console and pc is on red dead level fun to mod for single player
"This BF is not what I want, let's hope the devs learn their lesson and the next one will be it"
*FOR* the living, vivid, breathing, actually conscious piece of the smallest matter ever that would constitute as a F*** which thereof could give somewhat of a spec of, ever so tiny, S*** as in ... well, that one I refuse to go into detail:
A hail mary of BFV into a hail mary is a cheap. Hope the 2/3 YT premium shared is less than a Dollar. Idea man, ideas. Not recycling, I mean .. what is this, seriously?!
First on a level cap been trying for a decade lol
For me
🥈
Congratulations lol 😊
They didn’t bolt all canons to the floor on naval ships. They sat on rails. Bolting canons to a ship could make it sway unpredictably so it had to be offset somehow.
I just want a bad company 2 remastered
2042 has the same maps - Valpasso, Alakama desert. Maybe it worth playing until bad company 3 is not released yet
@@user-distantstar wait a minute I didn't know they were making bad company 3
Mad i missed this sale, but no way am I paying the current $50 price tag knowing it could have been had for $4. Even for $10 I would pick it up, but for the price now it may as well be unavailable.
I'd suggest you to play on GamePass for PC. All the Battlefield titles are included in the subscription.
Can somebody tell DICE they need to get back and update BF5 again?
BF 5 looks amazing on my RTX 4070. But Dice needs to do something about these hackers for real.
Played every BF till BF5. Nothing beats BFBC2 Rush
I might have missed out, however Im getting BF 1 and 5 during this sale
This game shouldve been a modern shooter
Ive been playing 2042 on my gaming PC, Just got Series X on Black Friday for 419 bucks. I also just bought BF5 for 4.99 :) on the Xbox
I joined BF when they released the wake island demo back in 2002, did some developing for multiple BF2 mods and quit playing with BF4. A few months ago I came back, bought BF 1 and 5 and enjoy both big time. Great to see they still attract a big player base
Damn those mic quality gains compared to that older BF5 video! Love your current mic dude, super crisp
Something I never hear anyone talk about with BFV is the movement, it feels so good!
I love that we're able to dive to our side, or roll to our backs while prone. I also love the vaulting and climbing system, being able to jump and grab a ledge to climb on is such a cool feature.
just adding a votekick would help a lot with the hackers
I still play this game almost everyday - best mechanics, best maps and some of the best movements. (ref. sliding)
It would be insane if they did surpise DLCS for bf5... honestly it would be. Ive been playing this game still since launch regardless of the high interest now and still a big fan.
Just the Typ 2Gay is a big joke from the dice devs
I bought bf5 on sale recently, I’m a long time bf fan but never picked it up before. After I bought it I had all the dlc, all the guns unlocked at level 1, and 10,000 in game currency. The gameplay is fun and I’m happy the dlc was included, but having everything unlocked off rip makes me feel like I’m not working towards anything as I play. And since I have more than enough in game currency to spend before I likely get bored it’s the same problem. But for less than $5 it’s a hell of a deal
I literally purchased battlefield 5 now finally because of the review. See you on the battlefield!
I love server browse on battle feild one it’s definitely the only thing keeping the game alive but it always playing full games
I agree with the longevity aspect. Graphics are just starting to get to the point of diminishing returns as well. I see hardware being able to stay relevant much longer before being outdated too.
We are at the point where these graphics with good frame rates will always look pretty good even years down the road.
It wasn't a "worst launch" it was " people are fuxking stupid because they were asking about historically accurate, not for a fun game "
Dude it's a WW2. It's one of the easiest periods to make both historically accurate and fun at the same time.
Sniping is way better on battlefield. They should make another world war game maybe a cold war battlefield1 was my favourite
I was there for the original launch of the game, and man it was difficult to publicly like it. You got blasted immediately when voicing sth positive about it, and I'm truly happy that BFV is much more liked nowadays. The game deserves it!
I played it straight for 3 years! Time flies!!
Holiday 2018- summer 2021!
More feedback, I love the audio mixing on your videos, especially this one🤙
Battlefields game are infested with cheaters, im ok with the blatant ones but the esp lowkey user really shit on these games so bad.
I picked it up from the sale for the first time and have played a few hours now. It's actually really fun and the sound design is amazing! Only problem I have it my PC isn't good enough...
We've not stopped playing BFV and didn't buy 2042. All as a big F you for EA Abandoning it 😂
@Keystoney you are completely right but another thing people forget is the Animations and automated voice lines of other players
Thanks for letting me know on the sale. I just brought 2042, 5 and 1 for Steam. I only play these games on Xbox, but 1 and 5 are dead on console and I'd love to play them again.
Bought for the first time BF V for only £3.60 and 2042 for £8, best spending in a long time by far
That’s a lot of game to catch up on
Cannot believe I missed the sale! I really want to get in those titles I never played. I played a lot of BF3 and a bit of BF4.
I still miss 3 and 4 as my favorite Battlefield titles I played.
I still play BF1 cause its so much fun
Long term bf3/4 player here
I played the golden era of battlefield when bf4,hardline (that’s a joke) and then bf1 were released.
Having a headshot streak with martini henry infantry is another level satisfying in battlefield series for me
The last battlefield I played was 1942.
Hopped back in into 2042.
Only reason I didn't picked up bf V was that I read that I stopped being updated and developed só I didn't felt safe investing in the game. But it's definetly the best BF game available nowadays.
Remember when they nerfed everything for like a week?
Persistent servers & server browser is what brought me back. If the next BF game doesn't have this, I won't buy
BF1 has also had a resurgence lately it seems like. Been playing it on console having a blast
Hear me out Battlefield: Bay Days
*destruction focus is populated areas
* match cinematic events ( flash floods, fire , or final destination shih)
* optional ptsd like mechanics for win streaks
* unique map locations ( big asp ship, detailed city, jungle)
It's the cheaters in every second match me and my friends play that breaks the deal. Playing on private servers prevents you from coming across cheaters, but not many people know about the option to play on private servers option in the lobby so the servers have problems with ''seeding'' (getting active player numbers)
We would play 2042, but the cosmetics break our immersion when you get killed by a guy with a flaming skull helmet.
With all due respect, but if wtf cosmetics break your immersion in bf2042, how it's not broken 100 times more in bfv seeing the cosplayers in the game, running with golden prototype guns with reflector or telescopic sights on them?
Hello,
The BFV was where the game started degrading. I did not say BFV is immersive, 2042 is just the next level.
My main point was the amount of cheaters in BFV and an attempt to raise the knowledge of the private server browser in the game.@@csanadjakab7717
Got a stram deck and have been playing battlefield 1 & 5. Apart from the in game text being illegible during a match ive had a pretty solid experience.
I picked bfv up on steam to try out again after playing the console version for a wile. I’ve been having an absolute blast. I suck terribly though at the moment but it’s still very fun. Favorite thing to do so far is charge unsuspecting players with the lunge mine
I love this game. I got it late in 2021. I am still not great as I continue to work with my settings. I just love that we can be the Germans or Japanese. In most games you have to be allied Soldiers or French Partisans.
Lastly even with some the problems I prefer to play this game over BF 2042's future war
i still run 60 fps on high graphics with my gtx 1070, wich is btw bottlenecked by my cpu, so you dont have to have a monster pc to enjoy the graphics of this game, it's amazing
I've been following you since BF3 and quit after BF4, might come back to pick this up, specially at that price. ty!
Bf4 has been popping recently too, I've seen so many new players recently
played firestorm last night. there was 50people in solo game and 30 in squad game. sad thing is that in firestorm are hackers always and u cant even report him.
I really wish they’d bring back the specializations for the weapons. That was unique.
dude i tried to play it and it puts me in 150 ping servers and if i try to browse servers they are all 100+ ping and its making me lose fights left and right. however battlefield 1, i find many good servers that i dont lag in same for other games. this is as of recent
I’ve been obsessed lately with this game. I just recently started getting back into multiplayer shooter games and this is hitting the spot.
i played bf5 briefly early in the year and after finishing the campaign and a few minutes of mp i dropped it. idk why but it just felt worse to play compared to battlefield 1
Its weird i was looking for a game to play and randomly saw battlefield 5 on my purchased games and downloaded it up, was pleasantly surprised to see a bunch of games with good pings and lots of full games. Had a blast!
Bf5 is the best battlefield you can take that how you want ;)
