In Legends, the Victory and Gladiator Classes were designed in tandem to split the combat roles of the Venator post Clone Wars. The Victory taking over the role of Battleship/Escort while the Gladiator would have a heavier focus on carrier duties and fighter support. The plans for both of these got all but trashed with the Tarkin Doctrine, which heavily favored the Imperator/Imperial Class of Star Destroyers.
I have to say my favourite star destroyers are 1. The Venator (both) 2. ISD 2 3. The Victory (both) 4. The interdictor 5. Super Star Destroyer (Executor) 6. The Nebula Star Destroyer xx
All of the Star Destroyers mentioned are pretty amazing in their own ways, but you missed one of the best versions of the Star Destroyer: The Procurator-Class Star Destroyer. Slightly bigger than the Venator and 400 meters shorter than the Imperial-Class, it’s what you’d call a pocket battleship as it was a small frame with large guns all while being similar in appearance to the Imperial-Class. The Procurator will always be one of my most favorites because it takes the concept of the ISD, shrinks it down, and makes a much more sustainable ship capable of fulfilling the role of an ISD when one can’t be present!
The Victory and Aggressor classes are my favorite star destroyers on the list. Both are just so cool and I really love the "big gun" aesthetic the Aggressor class has going for it.
Kuat Drive Yards Don't be silly the symbol CLEARLY meant that it was made by Zelda. Also a reason for why I hate TROS is that the MASSIVE fleet that Sidious made only survived for a very short amount of time, and I find it RIDICULOUS that every one of them had lasers capable of destroying worlds. That is WAY too overpowered.
The Imperator was the Imperial class as per the Essential Guide to Warfare. The Victory II replaced the underpowered main engine with a more powerful model and replaced the concussion missile launchers (some Victory Is had a small number of larger concussion missiles for siege warfare while others had 80 smaller launchers for large fleet battles) with ion cannons because anti-piracy had become a higher priority. There were two different models of Interdictors. The Immobilizer 418 cruiser, which was the one with a flat top. And the other was the Interdictor Star Destroyer which used the same frame as the ISD. The last comment I have on the video is about the Imperial class star destroyers. We actually see three types of ISDs in the original trilogy. We see the stock Imperial I in A New Hope, and in Empire we see an Imperial I with the Imperial II communication array instead of the Imperial I tractor beam targeting array. Then you see the Imperial II all over the place in Empire and Jedi. Edit:418 instead of 416
Star destroyers are so freaking cool My favorite one's are venator-class imperial-class Star wars destroyer interdictor-class onager-class and Gladiator-class
I've always loved the Venator Class Star Destroyer. The Color scheme looks really cool and its vary nostalgic as someone who grew up with the Prequel Trilogy.
You forgot the Mon Mothma class! In legends after the fall of the empire and the rise of the new republic an under construction ISD was renamed and modified to have a gravity well projector to make it an interdictor while also still having the firepower of its base hull but the starfighter capacity and strategy of the New Republic, This was the first of its class and although few were built in universe it is still very prominent among the fandom and mod makers for the star wars empire at war RTS game.
My favorite has always been the Venator-class Star Destroyer, and I even made some Venator sub-variants for my Star Wars head canon: in addition to the standard Venator Cruiser, there are the Venator Carrier, Venator Battlecruiser, Venator Battleship, Venator Battlecarrier. The Venator Carrier essentially has a higher Starfighter carrying capacity than the standard Venator Cruiser. The Venator Battleship features more armor and a more significant number of cannons. The Venator Battlecruisers are a mix of the Venator Battleship and cruiser, combining the cannons of the Venator battleships and the maneuverability of the Venator cruisers. The Venator Battlecarrier is also a mix of the Venator battleships and the Venator carriers, with the Venator Battleship cannons combined with the starfighter carrying abilities of the Venator Carrier.
If you didn't already know we basically have these! The standard Venator I is the basic one that is popular and seen everywhere, the Venator II is up-armored and more of a destroyer than a carrier, The Maelstrom class is essentially a larger Venator that fills the role of the Battlecruiser, and then the Secutor class is the Battlecarrier, more fighters, more guns, overall one of the few Imperial/GAR ships that fit a multi-role class in my opinion!
@@wolf6t689 Yes, I am aware that these ships exist, but in my head canon/fan fiction universe, I made the Venator the Republic’s counterpart to the Separatist Providence cruiser because of its versatility to be adapted for different roles, like how the Providence could be adapted to serve as a carrier, battleship, etc.
Main upgrade to the firepower of the ISD II is the 8 octuple turbo laser batteries placed along each side as rows of 4 each. This replaced the dual turret turbo lasers the ISD I had. You can tell the difference in the ISD II because the guns look like massive battleship cannons in real life.
one problem the resurgent class's length makes it a battlecruiser according to the annaxis war college ship classification system not a star destroyer, star destroyer is 1,000 to 2,000 meters long, while a battlecruiser is 2,000 to 5,000 meters long
For me, the Venator-class is my favorite. The Imperial-class is a good classic and symbol of the Empire’s rule. Though I don’t like the disaster trilogy I do find the Resurgence-class to be a nice upgrade in both design and functionality, sort of like how the Guerilla Walkers are an upgraded AT-AT. In Legends, I also like the Sith Dreadnaught as it was the key inspiration for Sidious’s Imperial fleet before the mouse company axed all that lore.
I feel the same way, except the Legends part, no opinion or knowledge on that one. Most concepts from Sequels were INCREDIBLE and COOL, but execution was failed HARD, all because *someone stupid* in charge thought it was a ""good idea"" to switch producer(?) in second film, *screwing with consistency of Sequels forever* ... Seriosly, if Sequels were made ENTIRELY by JJ Abrams, we would have *at the minimum* a decent trilogy!!! How he supposed to succed with the 3rd film with all the shit done by the Second?! Ugh... Anyway, great opinion and thanks for reading my opinion!

As much as I love the gladiator the Nebula wins by far. After using it in Awakening of the Rebellion Eaw mod it solidified itself as one of my favorite ships in all of Star Wars.
Sure the Imperial Star Destroyer didn't take inspiration from the Sith Empire's Terminus-class destroyer and Harrower-class dreadnought since they're very similar.

The Imperial I class has always been my favorite. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about the Imperial II class that I don’t like as much when compared to the Imperial I.
Isn't the ISD III only in mods and fanon? Or was it mentioned in legends somewhere? I've only ever seen it in Empire at War Awakening Of The Rebellion as well as fandom pages.
If the empire fielded a peacetime force of gladiator IIs, patrol frigates, and interdictors, while saving imperial star destroyers for high value threats like the mon calamarians the rebellion would be dead before it ever made embers
slight correction, there were two interdictor classes, the immobilizer 418 which was based on the vindicator chasis and the dominator which was based on as ISD 2 chasis but they filled the same roll
There is another ISD that had a super laser - the Conqueror-class Star Destroyer. The entire nose was removed giving it the famous two pointed forked appearance similar to the Sith iconic ship. At the moment, there was only the prototype destroyed by the rebels
Imperator class It's pronounced im-PEER-a-tōr, not imper-AY-tor. Also, the Tector ckass originated BEFORE the Imperial class, having been originally designed and built during the Clone Wars. It was far more heavily armed and armored, but carried no starfighters. This allowed the reactor to be mounted completely internally, with no external bulge.
Not to be a frickin nerd and meaning no offence. But the Resurgent class is technically a battle cruiser. Still loved the video, it's just a size difference thing in universe. I'd look up anaxes war college system.
both acclamator class assault ship and venator class star destroyer was used throughout episode 2, clone wars 2003-2005, clone wars movie 2008, clone wars 2008-2020, bad batch 2021-2024 and tales of the empire 2024, jedi fallen order 2019, tales of the jedi 2022, battlefront 1 and 2 2004 and 2005, battlefront 1 and 2 2015 and 2017, episode 3, galaxy of heroes, 11 lego star wars games, shorts films, television specials and television series.
aren't there more dangerous ships than the Xyston? i mean, the Starhawk manhandles star destroyers with a fuck-off tractor beam, there was also the Eclipse, the Malevolence is also a good contender. and if we include Legends: the Chiss Star Destroyers (specifically the Thrawn's Revenge version) were helluva'lot more destructive, not to mention the mandalorian Kandosii and Keldabe
Since this is recently i'm gonna say one Star destroyer i love . And that is Harrower-class Dreadnought. A star destroyer from legends in the old replublic
What about separatist and rebel destroyers like the providence, MC80 and MC75? Venators had a smaller hangar in the middle of the two dorsal door, so kenobi's it's just a regular venator.
One of the none but like star destroyer type is Immoblize 418 aka interdictor heavy cruiser. Gravity well projectiles is very interesting and rare among capital ships. It isn't a star destroyer but a heavy cruiser.
Did mention about the Xyston class Star destroyer, , they are ridiculously powerful but has a major flaw for the super weapon that can be easily takin out, they also use the same design from the original imperial 1 class which rediculous and doesn't make sense for it
Both can destroy the enemy they just do it differently. The Tie variant is a much more dedicated bomber with a greater compliment of ordinance where as the Y-wing is a fighter bomber able to fulfill both roles making it more versatile than the Tie. One is basically a flying ordinance pod which needs fighters to clear the way for them to pound their targets while the other can get stuck in alongside other fighters and can hit hard when it needs to.

both acclamator class assault ship and venator class star destroyer was used throughout episode 2, clone wars 2003-2005, clone wars movie 2008, clone wars 2008-2020, bad batch 2021-2024 and tales of the empire 2024, jedi fallen order 2019, tales of the jedi 2022, battlefront 1 and 2 2004 and 2005, battlefront 1 and 2 2015 and 2017, episode 3, galaxy of heroes, 11 lego star wars games, shorts films, television specials and television series.
aren't there more dangerous ships than the Xyston? i mean, the Starhawk manhandles star destroyers with a fuck-off tractor beam, there was also the Eclipse, the Malevolence is also a good contender. and if we include Legends: the Chiss Star Destroyers (specifically the Thrawn's Revenge version) were helluva'lot more destructive, not to mention the mandalorian Kandosii and Keldabe
Easily the most iconic Star Wars war ship 🐐
Since this is recently i'm gonna say one Star destroyer i love . And that is Harrower-class Dreadnought. A star destroyer from legends in the old replublic
I think you forgot the Harrower Class an old republic star Destroyer that was seen in both the trailer and mentioned in old republic light novels
Man I love the aggressor class. Such an awesome ship.
What about the star destroyer with a hanger on its side it’s in the OG battlefront games
What about separatist and rebel destroyers like the providence, MC80 and MC75? Venators had a smaller hangar in the middle of the two dorsal door, so kenobi's it's just a regular venator.
I don't know if a Light SD is considered a type of Star Destroyer but it's kinda cool.
It's just my favorite.
My favourite star destroyer of them all is the Imperial Class the main capital ships in the Galactic Empire
The Aggressor looks more like a ship from Mass Effect.
you missed the Praetor mk
Thought that outro was funny. When I played SWTOR for the first time I was in a guild called Skull Squadron
One of the none but like star destroyer type is Immoblize 418 aka interdictor heavy cruiser. Gravity well projectiles is very interesting and rare among capital ships. It isn't a star destroyer but a heavy cruiser.
Republic Gunships next please
I hope the onager class could maybe come into live action one day it looks so unique and doesn’t feel like it’s to overpowered
If you're going into legends you forgot the doomgiver from jedi outcast
The resurgent class is such a beautiful star destroyer
You forgot the galactic class and the alleagence class
What about the Harrower-class star destroyer of the Sith Emire from the Old Republic era.
My favourite ship design.
The Aggressor class looks more like a UNSC ship than an imperial one.
Did mention about the Xyston class Star destroyer, , they are ridiculously powerful but has a major flaw for the super weapon that can be easily takin out, they also use the same design from the original imperial 1 class which rediculous and doesn't make sense for it
The Tie bomber is meant to intimidate the enemy, the Y-Wing bomber is meant to destroy the enemy
The aggresor is just a star wars version of a unsc ship
I like the republic venator, and also the imperial star destroyer
THE RESURGANT CLASS STAR DESTROYER IS JUST A ISDSTACKED ONTO A CHISS STAR DESTROYER OR A BIGGER VICTORY CLASS
1:32
Is it just me or is that the triforce?
If this included star destroyers from legends continuity, this video would be about 2 hours llng
Conqueror class
1600m long star destroyer class fitted with a miniature death star super Lazer.
