Funny, I was looking for an great video that shows me how to do those turns and never find it, until today when I finally passed my Road Test. Thank You anyway.
Thank u Marie i follow ur video for offset and Parallels i passed very quick but i fail at Road test i will use this video information i hope to pass too
In the company I work for, there are some situations where it is perfectly acceptable to safely take up two lanes to make a right turn or merge. You are the professional driver, needing to make the right choices for the amateurs.
that red truck: go straight thru stoplight one block, turn LEFT . go one block ,turn LEFT, go one block, now you are back to street you wanted to turn right on.Turn left using all oncoming lanes when traffic clears. Now you are going the way you wanted at right turn.
nice video when you have nice people on the road but what you do if you need that left turn lane when you making right turn as its shown in 4:01 but somebody is on that lane already and doesn't want to move ( I'm not a truck driver yet but I assume assholes are on the roads all the time ) or what if you need to make a turn in tight street in the city and you know you not gonna make it and what if you stuck ? that's scary .

Very helpful. Is it safe to assume that a 38' 5th wheel RV turning according to the same rules (shoulder to curb etc) will have plenty of room to spare being 15 feet shorter?
What if there was a car in in the turning lane would you just wait for the car to turn, but then what if cars just keep showing up in the turning not letting you turn?
I'm just starting learning how to drive a commerical vehicle, but my suggestion would be don't wait forever, would save you time and the drivers behind, if you go to the next turn where there is less traffic or there is 2 lanes to make that turn without an issue, you might even win some time by doing that, rather then waiting forever for cars in the turning lane to clear out
Remember that any accidents are not at fault as long as you are not moving. A light two honk also lets drivers know something unusual is about to happen.
I turn pretty good. The ONLY time I curbed was when my trainer had me go through a round about, and then yesterday when I couldn't sew out of the window because hes a bigger guy, and his arm was blocking my view. Great guy though
If you do a jug handle or button hook turn on your CDL road test you will fail. Just so all you road testers know. Do that stuff once you’re on your own and already have your CDL
I thought button hook was the "correct" method for the CDL test, while Jug Handle was automatic fail? And I mean...how else are you gonna turn a semi without a button hook?
@@eurekasevenwave2297 I did my road test with CR England; the way the wanted us to do right turns was to turn right when the front of the truck reaches the double yellow line dividing the lanes. Or once your shoulder passes the curb on single lane roads. We couldn’t go straight out and turn into the opposite lane on 2 lane roads. That kind of button hook would’ve been a fail.
@@apuertorican1773 Mmmm, I'll keep that in mind. It might depend on instructors, I might ask. I want to take CDL next year so I've just been absorbing all the information I can find about semi operation. Mainly for passing the test, since real life is obviously far more different than testing standards. Thanks for the info.
Well this is to pass to get the cdl. The bike lane is what? A solid white line. Are you supposed to cross over the solid white line? Fail. Common sense
@@marieharrop4066 It depends on which state. In where I live it's ok to take the bike lane. If you can block 2 lanes and encroach into the opposite lane to make your turn, then taking the bike lane is not much of a deal.
This overhead footage was very helpful, thank you!
Glad it helped.
Good video. Taking my CDL test this week and I'm feeling much more comfortable with turning. This was a big concern for me.
Glad this helped you! Good luck pass it on to others.
How's it going for you? I'm deciding on cdl school or not n I'm nervous. Any help would be appreciated. What are the turning don'ts on the road test?
Thanks, I've been struggling with turns and my test is in just over a week. I'll try what I've learned in your video this week.
Thanks for the video, I take my test next Monday so this was very helpful.
How'd your test go? Pass first try? I'm thinking about CDL school.
Great video!
Thank you for this. Got a road test for a new job coming up and it's been a LOOONG time....

This is for the purpose of getting your cdl so I suppose they are amatures
Amazing and helpful video.
Please upload more.
Thank you.
Awesome Drone position.

What if one of those streets cannot fit a commercial vehicle?

If they don't move then you stay there until they move. I'm a truck driver.
I've always moved back every time I seen a big 18 wheeler making a turn.

I didn’t understand the text at the end but the bird’s eye view was very helpful.
... and may the force be with you as well.
Awesome

Wow the best tutorial

Wait there as long as it takes to back up . Coming from a driver w 3 years.
Eventually they figure out no one goes anywhere til they back up or go around.

Are jug handle turns legal or allowed on CDL road test? I'm hearing different things. There's the real 🌎 and there's the CDL test.
No jug handle for the road test.
No jug handle on road test. You would be impending traffic. When you are on your own yes
thanks !
4:26 What's a Crub lane ??

You should have told him to move the arm. That could have been a car or a person walking. Nothing should Impede your view
@@marieharrop4066 my problem is that I'm a nice guy and a pushover lol
Remember four lane rule to make turns. One plus three or two +2 =4

3:00 it's better to use bike lane

Put me to sleep and cannot read the stuff at the end it is too fast!

Do you know how to pause the video?
