It's one of my favourite items but hard to find authentic recipes. Yours is authentic, very similar to the way I saw it being made in Lucknow some 40 years ago. The one difference is that saffron flavoured tinted milk was used instead of food colour. Daulat ki chaat was another patently Lakhnavi item, with its sister dish "malaiyo" of Banaras.
