      Hey "Hack Rider" >> > I'm not buying that for 1 New York second.... lol, if you're getting home safely
      after riding then you got something going right w/ your style. Those boys who passed you were just
      that, boys w/ little common sense. The one looked at you like let's get her going & as he pulled away
      I thought how bad his road rash was gonna be if he went down? And I'd feel sorry for anyone who
      goes thru that. I hope this post finds you well. If you were a "hack", you aren't that anymore!

    22:36 this overtake was a great show of the bike. Calmly putting along, then barely had to give it any throttle and you were passed him faster than I would have done in my truck. I have no idea why people say you need more than 50hp, that was a solid pass with enough power to be safe and quick about it.

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  11 місяців тому +2

      Yeah, I read comments constantly that this is a starter bike and needs more power. I can easily overtake most vehicles and it will cruise at 85 to 90mph, way above legal speeds.

    • @kalnwi2023
      @kalnwi2023 10 місяців тому +1

      At 50 mph ? My 250L rally can do that , at 65 or more not so much .Not tryin to be a jerk, just realistic .Not sayin the X can't but this isn't a good example of overtaking.

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  10 місяців тому +2

      @kalnwi2023 The 250l is a great bike for sure, but it makes 20 horsepower less at the wheel and CB500x definitely overtakes a lot easier. The bike had 3 miles on it so it wasn't even full throttle pull just a leisurely pass 😆. Thanks for watching!

    It seems to be a very good bike with a nice riding position and I see some reporting long trips on it. Everyone seems to be adding extras to it including luggage and the rally kit you spoke of. Definitely worth a look.

      I've already done about 700 miles in the last few weeks since picking it up and its been very comfortable so far. I am still waiting for my new tall Seat Concepts seat which should make it near perfect for me to ride. Thanks for Watching!

    I'm new here as in the 1st video I've seen(subb'd up) & if I bought a new bike I think I'd be afraid to run the camera
    while talking about it b/c w/ my luck I'd touch the front brakes & catch some gravel on the road = washed out !!?
    But she is a beautiful bike, I'm saving money now & this bike is one that I'm following but it's new to my list of
    dual sports to research. I hope all is well & that you & this bike have survived the year.... is insurance high on
    this bike? Just curious, I've not ridden a bike since the early 90's so go figure? peace

      ALL 3 bikes is just $600($50 a month).... That's not too bad at all, I thought the 500x would cost that
      much for it alone? Thanks for the share, peace.

      Yes, your age & record says volumes about the rates you can expect. Another reason for higher
      rates is if you live in a County that has a City or large number of upper middle class or rich folks.
      One City within a County whose populace are well to do will spike everyone's rates but I digress.
      You've shared a lot of good stuff, I hope others see some of this thread. peace

    I've had my 2023 X for about two months. I'm a little less than thrilled that the engine is screaming at 5500 rpm when traveling at 65mph. 6th gear should be more highway friendly.

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  Рік тому +2

      I'm kinda used to it having a 250l scream at 75mph 10000rpm 😆.
      I may also end up going to a 16t front sprocket for longer adventures. Thanks for watching and grats on the new bike. Ride Safe

    • @markjenkins905
      @markjenkins905 Рік тому +2

      Fit a 16T front sprocket. This lowers the engine's RPM and makes each gear so much longer.

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  Рік тому +1

      @@kassiedreaneai7459 I went to a 150/70/17 in the rear with the Motoz Tractionator Rallz tires and the extra height with the knobbies and different profile helped quite a bit. I plan on doing a video on it before I try the upgraded sproket. This bike before the new tires was spot on with the speedometer against GPS, now it reads about 3Mph slow. Thanks for watching!

  • @markjenkins905
    @markjenkins905 Рік тому +4

    Fit a 16T front sprocket from JT Sprockets for around £15. This very cheap modification will totally transform the bike. Lowers the engine's RPM at highway speeds & makes each gear so much longer.

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, it's something I'll probably do in the future. I want to see how the bike manages in deep sand with the stock sprocket first before I swap it. Thanks for watching!

  • @leeinwis

    I'm weird and like the 2018 or older version with dual 17" tires , so many more options in tires and it sits a tad lower , that and I'm looking for a lower price than a new bike which I think all are overpriced .

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  6 місяців тому +1

      I have full Rally Raid suspension on the bike with tall Seat so it's quite a bit taller with Motoz Rallz tires. The bikes aren't terribly priced its just all the fees they tack on for me that makes it hard to stomach. The tire selection is pretty slim for this bike as you said.

    • @leeinwis
      @leeinwis 6 місяців тому +1

      The added fees are less with a used from a dealership like destination/shipping and sometimes set up fees, it pushes me over my budget.I bought a bike just before covid for so much less.@@AdventureBert

      I’m 51 and have been riding motorcycles for 40 years. I bought a 2022 500x a few months ago as a 2nd bike and I love it.
      Suspension and brakes are very good, it handles extremely well and the motor is fun to push hard.
      It’s nice to be able to ride a bike hard and go through the gears with hitting triple digits.
      Not just a beginners bike.

    • @kalnwi2023
      @kalnwi2023 10 місяців тому

      This is too much for beginners, too heavy, too top heavy , and believe it or not too much power .Many new riders are kids , not yet the strongest they'll be , not mature enough to "take it easy" at first, and probably very limited place to store/keep and move around a bike.

    Looking at the same bike. I need a daily commuter 40 miles a day to and from work no interstate. Plus a little weekend dirt roads play time. How do you feel this bike would serve in this ? How the comfort stock seat and riding position. 5’10 215

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  8 місяців тому

      It works wonderful in pretty much all conditions, I ride it to work with some highway and some backroads a few times a week and have a bunch of off-road miles too. It never disappoints and I two up with the misses often also. You should be comfortable in the stock seating position and the suspension will be fine for commuting.

    I was just thinking about you guys the other day, it's good to see you riding.
    Nice bike, I recently bought two Chinese 250's for a crazy cheap price. The problem is parts and compared to Honda they are poorly engineered.
    The 500X is interesting for sure, I'm finding out at 69 I'm not nearly into dirt riding as I used to be. I'll probably keep the cheap bikes and use them for off road, they are licensed for the street, but keeping up with traffic is really maxing them out.

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  Рік тому +1

      I wanted to keep the reliability and have more power for highway, also this actually feels similar in weight to 250l because of the lower center of gravity on the bike.

    • @AdventureBert

      I love the green, but the Black would have been my first choice as it's easier to change graphics on the bike if I wanted. I think I'll end up staying factory though with this color as it gets alot of compliments. Good luck on your choice of color, you will love the bike either way! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Nice Bike. I got a 2019 version and am more than happy. Just came back from a Switzerlan, South of France and Italy tour via Route Napoleon and that 471cc motorcycle is just wonderful.
    By the way.. those full stops in the US are a pain. In Europe we have almost none of those, we use turnarounds a lot and you don’t have to perform full stops, especially annoying when there is a four way full stop and no traffic around..
    Safe rides and greetings from Switzerland

    What do you mean handlebars needed straightening? Is it position adjustment, or they literally were bent and needed unbending?

    • @AdventureBert
      @AdventureBert  Рік тому +2

      The front suspension at the forks was assembled incorrectly, so if the handlebars were straight the front wheels was turning right. The technician had to loosen pinch bolts on front forks and straighten some, it wasn't damaged or anything.

      I just happened upon your video and really liked it. I’ve had my eye on this bike for awhile now. I was looking one over at my dealer yesterday and had to wonder why they made the Transalp so close to this bike. Maybe it’s not,but it seems like it to me! It seems like the Transalp should have been made much more lean,mean and aggressive. Of course I’ve never seen one in real life. Anyway,real sorry to hear about your accident. I tried doing the Transamerica Trail last summer and turned back at western Kansas. (I’m from Pennsylvania) I didn’t have just the greatest bike for it (a pretty well restored and modded out ‘99 KLR 650) and for some reason I just could never get into it! So I went home! Anyhow,good luck.

It will break speed limits with ease, but in the end pick whatever excites you the most.
