This is awesome! Definitely helped when you talked about how you bounce around the settings. I never understood why people would edit here and there. Now it makes sense that one setting could affect another. It’s so obvious now! Your commentary on the reason WHY you were changing a setting was awesome! Subscribed!
I love the tutorials and was really considering signing up for the course but for a student who is struggling to pay for decent equipment I just can't afford to pay 500 dollars for a course
Aye mate, as someone who has tried to recreate this style you make it look so easy, thanks for the tips I found what I was missing, I didnt realize how much you were in the split tones. Cheers mate to a great video 🔥
I like that you explained why you’re doing things and what it affects in the photo. I want to learn more about editing, but find it very hard because I can follow a tutorial, but when I have to edit alone, I have no idea what to do. I’ll definitely watch more of your videos!
I love these style videos! Found you yesterday and subscribed straight away :). I would love to see more interior/ architectural edits, for example, Studio Mcgee!
Please do more videos like this sir so helpful and why no pass code please help 5 times viewing this video but I can't see the code 9f this preset please help
Such a cool edit! I am curious Maarten, do you often use the "point curve" curve (the one with shadows, highlights), or is it usually enough to use RGB and R,G,B? Can the "point curve" do something these otherrs cant?
how can i get light room and how much is it going to cost me... please send various web links... as this will help me and my mental health... photograghy is everything for me in these awkward times.. Thanks
Lightroom is very user-friendly. However, I would say Photoshop or Affinity Photo are nice, too. I use Photoshop and Affinity, and I used to use Lightroom a lot. You'll find that if you learn Photoshop or Affinity, you'll learn blend modes and other blending, selecting, channel, tonal options. Some big things to help my photography grow were: 1) using your scopes (I use waveform to monitor value (high lights and shadows, and I use the vector scope to monitor my color, starting with my skin tones [use the skin tone line/indictor]), 2) using masking ... once you get the idea of what masking is, you will see uses for it all the time. I often use masks to blend together different layers of the same image to get the tones I want, or perhaps masking it a different sky, etc. 3) dodge and burn ... wow, this made a massive difference in my photography. Lightroom, Photoshop, and Affinity (and other programs, I'm sure) have some sort of brush tool that gives you control over the highlights and shadows by brushing/painting. I get a very pleasing, flash-like effect to my skin tones now because of this. 4) bonus! learn about lighting styles. For example, Rembrandt lighting.
