- Playing with the Amazing Woovebox Update! (ver 2682)
Today I'm live playing with the (at the time) latest firmware update for the Woovebox! This update lets you randomize patches, instantly creating endless amounts of new sounds to play with! It also allows you to create randomized pattern chains, which is fantastic for coming up with quick basslines and melodies! Enjoy the stream :)
Everytime I'm stunned by how good this tiny thing sounds :)
It's pretty awesome!
Just got my EP133, but need time to work with it. Your sequencer concerns were my very same concerns when I noticed it didn't have a 4x4 numpad.
Meanwhile, random synth patches for the woovebox seem awesome! Being able to just hit random a couple times until you get something close and then tweak from there would be super useful!
This was super helpful and changed my thoughts for the better on this device. Job well done.
I'm glad!
it's pretty awesome.
Nice video
Thanks Wigges :)
Also, the note randomization might be more interesting and useful if it was set up to follow counterpoint rules. 🤔
I haven’t seen new videos about this gadget in a while. Was it a temporary contract to promote it, and you don’t want to advertise it anymore? Or do you think the gadget isn’t worth new videos, or no one is interested in it?
The honest answer is that I've just been INCREDIBLY busy lol. The focus early in the year was all on finishing my live rig and actually getting out to gig. Now I'm working on the Free Beat Live show, as well as being super booked in my personal life for the summer. I still use the Woovebox and the Dirtywave M8 as my two go-to "I've got a few minutes to kill, let's making some music" devices, but I've definitely eased up on the video content for them. Rest assured, while I did do a paid video for the Woovebox website, I have never been under contract to promote the Woovebox. I do indeed absolutely love it. I'm hoping to feature it in a larger video project this summer/fall actually!
@@FreeBeat Thanks for the update! I totally understand how busy life can get. I’m glad to hear you’re still using these devices regularly. Looking forward to seeing your larger video project this summer/fall. Keep up the great work!
Wondering if you might pick up a Qun mk2 to connect up with the Woovebox. Thinking these two and a Beastie, a Pocket Op or two or even the OP-Z would be a crazy mobile setup. 😎
Possibly, but it's not really on my list. The Woovebox was really intended to be used by itself I think!
@@FreeBeat Yeah completely agree on its capabilities. I recently discovered the Qun mk2 right before your original video on the Woovebox. Just amazed at how powerful these pocket sized machines are now days. I’ve been playing lately with truly mobile and small devices just for the fun of it. Also learned a lot from your Pocket Op videos. So.. this is partly your fault! 😜
Hi bud, when you use randomise patch, can you save that patch to one of the 16 slots?
TE seem all too careful not to allow any of their new products to ever compete with any of their more expensive stuff. To me, things like the Woovebox and Deluge suggest that TE are choosing to make artificially limited music gear.
Yeah the Woovebox, M8, and Deluge are three pieces of gear that basically destroy everything else in their price ranges, and show that passionate people can make some phenomenal pieces of gear if they want to.
Well done cancelling EP133! EP133 doesn't worth it.
Thanks for watching!
Why is it still so complicated to update the Woovebox?
Seems impossible to connect to anything.
I'm a week in now. Best I've done is 99%
The sound on this thing is not the best, pretty weak good for chip tune but not for Lofi or anything else. I’m glade i got the Ep 133 Ko 2 first. I will still get one of these when they are in stock though.
