This is a very commonly spoken issue. Many still have doubts to when Ramayana actually happened and many people have given their own takes on it based on their research. However, there is no solid evidence to any of their statements. However though, I should say that this video is completely authoritative as the speaker is quoting from the scriptures directly and not just speculating or giving his own interpretation on this issue just like everyone else. The modern scientists will not be able to uncover everything and come to a proper understanding until and unless they consult the scriptures. I mean, let's be real! These things are too great for our tiny brains. We can't even count the total number of stars there are in the sky, what to speak of knowing it's creator? Even Krishna says that we can only understand Him through devotional service, hearing and chanting about Him. You really exemplify this very fact, Subala Prabhu. Pranam 🙏 to this devotee who has explained these complex concepts in such a simple and easy way. I'm not a born Hindu, but I'm a Sanatani by heart and mind. One thing I was telling my closest friends some time ago was how I always felt the Ramayana to be so distant from our current times and how it also made it difficult for me to be in tune with Sri Ram as a Divine manifestation. One day I came to the realization that indeed, it is so ancient that to grasp the essence one has to travel through myriads of time and the limitations of the mind. After a long time, I am very satisfied to hear something so accurate about the Ramayana, supported by authenticated literary proofs. I’m tired of hearing speculative theories that date the great Ramayana at 7,000, 12,000, or 14000 years old or refer to Sri Lanka as Ravana Lanka. I hope the Indian government very significantly increases its focus on researching our glorious ancient past.

Srimad Bhagavatam 10.14.29 athāpi te deva padāmbuja-dvaya- prasāda-leśānugṛhīta eva hi jānāti tattvaṁ bhagavan-mahimno na cānya eko ’pi ciraṁ vicinvan My Lord, if one is favored by even a slight trace of the mercy of Your lotus feet, he can understand the greatness of Your personality. But those who speculate to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead are unable to know You, even though they continue to study the Vedas for many years.

He appears and disappears like the Sun which appears and disappears, it would be wrong to say the Sun is dead just because it is night. Similarly the Lord manifest various avatars for certain time to exhibit His pastimes, protect the sadhus and annihilate the demons and once dharma is uphold He moves to another universe.
Purana means, pura navam bhavati iti puranam meaning one whose modernity or relevance in the present does not end despite the text itself belonging to a distant past is known as Purana. And what has change in the past that is different in the present? The same birth death old age and disease is going on. Puranas address the eternal truths which do not change like the relatives truths you are speaking of in the present.
Nilesh is trying to explain by modern technology as he thinks that all the so called modern theories like movement of tectonic plates and ice ages are true . He does not that modern tech itself has many limitations and are based on wrong scientific principles. Humans existed such long year back is beyond his ideas 😅 . So , he has some sort of so called modern midsets . He also don't believes in the cosmology said in Bhagwad Puran Canto 5 by sukhdev goswami to parikshit. So , don't pay such attention to such findings , trust upon your shastras .
