- COLOR appearance of The Munsters star Fred Gwynne as Herman on The Danny Kaye show in 1965 also with Edie Adams.. Unfortunately, I do not have the complete ending to the skit where Herman delivers "monster" news.
Nice to see Fred Gwynne's "Herman" in true color!
yes, i think the sponsors really blew it not agreeing to the extra money for color
@@larryshaver3568 It wasn't the sponsors who didn't want to pay for color film. It was CBS and Universal. Neither of them wanted to pay for color film. Yet Universal made Munster, Go Home in color. Go figure.
Herman is such a great character. I like his little wave, and his sly grin just before he tells a joke. In some strange way, he reminds me of Frasier Crane, in that he attempts to carry himself with dignity, but just can't manage it all the time.
I think the only Herman Munster on video tape! Thanks!
Vintage & Timeless ✨
Wow, didn’t know this existed. Love the Munsters! Thanks!
The Court Jester meets Herman Munster I didn't know I needed in my life but I found today.
That was so cool! Thank you for uploading this!
A real genius !!
Hysterical! I never knew this existed!!
Fred as Herman also appeared on the Red Skelton Show around the same time.
FUN FACT: After the Munsters t.v. series ended in May of 1966, Gwynne never talk about the show in
interviews.
I caught the tail-end of an interview on The Dick Cavett Show where he was referring to it. I would love to see the whole interview. Other than that, I've never seen him talk about it willingly.
He was very bitter about his career in Hollywood fizzling in the 70’s. Fortunately, he had some strong supporting film roles in his later years.
Gotta remember that gopher joke 🤣🤣🤣
lol
I was today years old when I found out Herman munster was the old farmer from pet semetary
Also the judge in My Cousin Vinny. His last movie performance
Danny must have been really persuasive - Fred hated the makeup.
What was his body donated to?
Science.... fiction.
wow, this man could turn his character off and on at the drop of a hat. I'll bet most of that was unscripted. Just did the make-up gave him the news idea and just let him go.
I watched my cousin venny yesterday he sounds just like him the way he is judge but he still does lips.smack lol I loved him as actor
Tacky ad hell not to announce Fred as Fred....not Herman.
Loved that show. 66 an still watch it. So much gay in TV today it ain't worth watching 🤮
