    Do you paint with "primary" colors only? I do like these 3 colors a lot. Would love to hear what you like! 🧡Share your art with me and other kind heARTed friends: Annie Troe Art Friends facebook.com/groups/271621221740446 🎨🤗

      I mostly use a split primary palette for warms and cools. The idea of using so many different tubes of colors is fun, but I worry they won't have unity together if I do thag

      So try Tinker! I need to play with split primaries 👍❤️😍👋

    Pretty piece shapes are so important for this one. You can see the structure gel. Would be good on pansies to give some depth.

    I was curious. White charcoal pencils are made of calcium carbonate mixed with a binder. Now we know :)

      I see - so it's just chalk. I wonder if they're the same as dressmaking chalk pencils.

    • @jennifersanders4165
      @jennifersanders4165 10 місяців тому

      @gillianbc some dressmaking pencils are wax. I would check the specific brand you have to make sure it dissolves in, or can be covered by, paint

    Why did you block in green on the edges of the outside peony petals?
    Love the painting btw. I always have trouble painting peonies, irises & rose petals.

      Happy Friday Laurie! The Quinacridone I used is semi-transparent, SO, I was thinking I might get a softer / faded edge. BUT I ended up going lighter by adding white to my pinks, oranges and didn't need to do it! 😂 I do quite a few things when I am painting that I end up painting out. Sometimes it is just on a whim. I usually avoid peonies because I like to get into the 'weeds' like I did with this one and it takes a lot of time!

    Tip: perhaps design a text layover of brands & types materials & tools, & have them scroll along the bottom of your edited videos...? Like Bob Ross did with colors at the beginning of his videos..? Thought this might be helpful.

    So obviously the most important step is however you got the shapes from the peony onto your canvas. I still don't understand how you did that. I always just eyeball it and I can see how tracing would save hours of faulty eyeballing.
    Can you explain that process? What did you need to buy to do that? Thank you!

    • @AnnieTroe

      Hey Anne! at 7:45 it shows me tracing the printed photo with a ball point pen. I scribbled on the back of the printed photo with chalk pastel. You could use Saral paper too. I use this technique a lot to speed up the painting process for me. This video shows it in much more detail ua-cam.com/video/Vgo97DY6-A4/v-deo.htmlsi=MzQKkOWjuHDJWJJZ DIY cottage has this video on how to print out images larger than 8.5 x 11 ua-cam.com/video/qf_UVm4NdIU/v-deo.htmlsi=558Jp0uYGQ9KnU5R Hope this helps a bit! I love your work and your channel.
    One small criticism, don’t you care about the planet? Those plates are not exactly environmentally friendly. Personally I take an old food container and make a stay wet pallet, it really cuts back on waste

    • @AnnieTroe
      @AnnieTroe  Місяць тому +1

      Hey Tiffany! Happy New Year! 🥳 A few others have made the same comment. I GET THAT! It is a video / small pace issue. I hope to in the future be able to afford multiple cameras & software to show my palette (and space for the palette to sit). REALLY, I am just as concerned about the Acrylic paints! I wipe off as much as I can on a paper towel - but that plastic paint goes in a landfill. Seems a bit better than going down the drain? I could get on a soap box about how much my community ACTUALLY recycles of what they pick up - and on it goes. ART HUGS and thanks bunches for stopping by my channel.
