Ich hatte mal vor Jahren einen beruflichen Termin in Brandenburg a. d. Havel und deshalb so gut wie nichts von der Stadt gesehen. Aber es war das einzige Mal, dass ich es auf einer Straßenbahnfahrt mit einer Kletterweiche zu tun bekam.

Haha ... ich habe von 1996 bis 2002 in Brandenburg a.d.H. gelebt und habe die Stadt (OK, das war ja noch recht knapp nach der Wende und so sah es da auch aus) als ziemlich hässlich in Erinnerung, aber du hast es echt geschafft, die schönen Seiten aufzuzeigen. Ich sehe ich muss wohl mal wieder auf einen Besuch hin :) Danke dafür
Ja, in der DDR-Zeit hat die Stadt sehr gelitten. Immer noch gibt es zahlreiche noch unsanierte Häuser, wodurch man einen Eindruck bekommt, wie alles in den 80ern ausgesehen haben muss.
Vertrau mir ... damals 1996 als die ersten Renovierungen losgingen, sah die Stadt richtig richtig schlimm aus, als dann 1998 oder so die "Jahrhundertbrücke" wieder passierbar war und man nun auch besser ins Stadtcentrum kam, ging es spürbar langsam aufwärts, aber wirklich schön wirkte die Stadt immer noch nicht. Allerdings war ich nun auch schon seit über 15 Jahren nicht mehr da, da wird sich nun naturbedingt noch viel verändert/-schönert haben (außerdem hattest du ausgezeichnetes Wetter in deinem Video - ich denke bei Brandenburg immer eher an grauen Himmel). Wie gesagt, ich muss wirklich mal wieder hin, ist ja von Berlin aus nur ein Katzensprung.
Sie heißt Jahrtausendbrücke und Brandenburg war nie hässlich! ;-)

Es hat sich echt wahnsinnig viel getan die komplette Stadt ist weitest gehend durch saniert Tourismus ist jetzt halt das neue Standbein ;) als Brandenburger kann ich dir nur recht geben bis auf die schöne Umgebung waren viele Ecken in der Stadt damals wirklich gruselig und sehr unschön ...es ist krass was sich in den letzen 10 Jahren hier getan hat die kompletten Ufer und die vielen Parks laden heute zum verweilen ein das alte grau der 90 er ist auf jeden Fall verschwunden ...Ich würde sagen besuch die Stadt mal wieder du wirst positiv überrascht sein :)

Fun fact: German autobahns A2 and A4 have the same names as Polish counterparts after they meet on the border. A4 was build in 1930' by Nazi Germany in Niederschlesien and after the borders moved in 1945 it happened to be the only highway in Poland for decades.

Peter Kurek +Peter Kurek You know that after 1945, those were Polish Communists in charge, right? Yeah, a lot of people died in either conentration camps (fun fact: Auschwitz was reopened by the Soviets after the war, to house "the enemies of the state" there), in prisons and so forth, but they didn't care if those killed were German, Polish or Eskimo. People died because they dared to oppose the new government.
So Polish Communist aren't poles? They died not only beacuse some fo them opposed to the new government, but beacuse of nationality, to make room for savages from the east.

Simply BS. I live 38 years under polish occupacy. Just 1 polish writer wrote about polish genocide crimes. A regular polish citizen knows nothing about it, or deny that. If poles dosen't have any influence on polictics, so what is the point to organize elections in poland? Isn't poland a republic?

Solltest du mal wieder in der Berliner Gegend sein, dann solltest du Jüterbog besuchen. Jüterbog ist die zweit älteste Stadt in Brandenburg mit 1017 Jahren auf dem Buckel. Da ich gute Verbindungen zum ansässigen Kulturquartier habe könnte ich dir sogar Einblicke verschaffen die so nicht jeder Besucher zu sehen bekommt.

And then there's the song Brandenburg by Rainald Grebe - ua-cam.com/video/syFSdSkJ6pM/v-deo.html - which is about the state, but the amount of population per square meter in this video suggests that it includes the town ;)
Another example of how silly those "not for commercial use" clauses are. They could have had free marketing for the cathedral interior in this video, but because of their silly clause, now they don't.
