The Recording of Steve Reich's 'Different Trains' - at Parr Street Studios

Steve Reich's minimalist masterpiece 'Different Trains' hasn't stopped captivating audiences since its first performance in 1988. This short film tells the story behind the work and documents the recording of the latest incarnation of the piece, performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra at Parr Street Studios, Liverpool.
This documentary was filmed in the lead up to the first live performance of 'Different Trains' in it's newest form, with a visual accompaniment by acclaimed film-maker Bill Morrison. The performance is to take place at Metal - Edge Hill Station, Liverpool on 29/09/16 on the eve of Reich's 80th birthday.
