Swami ji, best favourable thing with you is you have not got married. If you have got married and have kids you would have never ever come in this spiritual field. Although I understand fully that lord Krishna take care of everyone. There is nothing in control of we humans.
That is an excellent question. Our scriptures tell us that when we acquire knowledge about our relationship with God we become a devotee naturally. Practically we can engage in the process of Shravan - listening to spiritual wisdom regularly, Manan - contemplating on the wisdom as much as possible and Kirtan - singing glories of God, this will remove the defects from our heart create love for God. Listen to the leelas of Shree Krishna, hear and sing bhajans about Him, read and reflect on the Bhagavad Gita, meditate on His beautiful form, all of this will start us on the path to become His devotee.
