Silver Strike tokens are special casino tokens made of silver. Silver Strike tokens are bimetallic. These tokens have a core made of 999 silver with an outer ring made of brass. Silver Strike tokens contain 1/2 oz silver. There are various casinos that issue these tokens. These tokens come with different designs. They all have limited mintages. Silver Strike tokens are awarded as prizes for playing slot machines. These tokens can be exchanged at the casino for cash. You can also buy these tokens from online sources like eBay. Silver Strike tokens can be bought for close to melt value. There are many mints that produce Silver Strike tokens. The Franklin Mint, Sunshine Mint, and Perth Mint are a few of the mints that produce these tokens.
Those are really cool tokens, I love bimetal anything but those seem like a fun and cheap way to get into it! I didn't realize so many mints made silver strike tokens, either! Very cool video, my man!
I used to have a couple of these. You are correct that they can be had for close to spot. The problem with them is the weight is not stamped on them anywhere so people are fooled into thinking they are one ounce pieces thinking they are gilded silver.
Good point, I can see uniformed buyers mistaking the bimetallic planchet for gilded silver. It is odd that the token is only stamped with the 999 purity but not the weight. Thanks for watching!
Very informative video my friend. I actually have a $200 silver strike from Harrah's casino in Lake Tahoe. It's a one troy pound .999 fine silver American eagle. Thought about collecting them until I saw how many different ones there is. Thanks for this video my friend. Keep stacking
I have never seen these and thank you so much for the great information! I will have to look into getting some of these. Hopefully, I can find them close or less than spot and hold onto them. Thanks for sharing and appreciate it very much!
You won't have trouble finding these casino tokens selling for cheap. My LCS sells these tokens for close to melt value. I think it's cheaper to buy these casino tokens from a LCS rather than online
That is some very interesting token information my friend, I knew they existed I just had never seen one. Incredible the amount of different mints that produce these. I appreciate the knowledge and the video my friend
I've visited Las Vegas quite a few times. My parents and I stayed at MGM Grand and Circus Circus. I've heard that Caesar's Palace has a display full of gold coins and bars. I've visited Pawn Stars once. I didn't see any silver casino tokens at Pawns Stars. Instead, all I see at Pawn Stars are overpriced, damaged Morgan dollars with holes.
+Custom Coin Rings USA I know right. Everything was so overpriced at the Gold & Silver Pawn shop, especially the constitutional silver. However, you can find deals if you're knowledgeable. For example, they were selling a 2008 Kook for $30. Keep in mind APMEX sells 2008 Kooks for $80. I regretted not picking up that 2008 Kook. The Gold & Silver Pawn shop was selling cull silver dollars with holes for $40. Which is overpriced. However I cherrypicked through the lots and I found a BU Morgan dollar. Because I picked out a BU dollar, I didn't lose money. I've heard of Sahara Coins, they have a UA-cam channel. Here is a link to the video of my Pawn Stars dollar: ua-cam.com/video/8XPUPLEHWjI/v-deo.html
Very nice token we have a few from A.C. Think the ones we have have about 1/2 ounce of silver in them...my LCD...has a bag of them...but premium are a tad high she got the bag of them when silver was over $30.00 bucks in 2012... Did get the Trump ones off her!:) Nice information there MMS...didn't know who made them.
I still remember the times when silver was $30-$35 per ounce. These casino tokens remind me of coins used for the coin toss in football. I've always known that Sunshine Mint made casino tokens. However I was really surprised that Perth Mint produced tokens. The token I showed in this video has a "G" mintmark, so I need to look up the maker. Have you seen my video about Ted Binion?
Your on the nose on these tokens. The center is a half ounce of silver. Some of them have a gold plated brass ring and some we're heavy gold plated also. The slot machine had to be a silver strike token machine. I have one I bought in Vegas for $20. On UA-cam there is a person that shows his silver strike token set and it's big. Cheers man. 😎
The token I've shown in this video is from Treasure Island. Treasure Island is a pirate themed casino. In fact, I've visited the Treasure Island casino and they have a big privateer ship. One of Treasure Island's attractions is that they host plays with the Privateer ship as a stage. I'm sure they're other tokens issued by Treasure Island that have pirate designs. However for some reason Treasure Island decided to advertise the strip club with this token
This token belonged to a family friend who owned it for many years. The reason why the capsule is beat up is because these tokens circulated though many casinos. There are Air-Tites that can fit casino tokens. Technically these casino tokens can be classified as generic rounds because they contain 1/2 oz 999 silver and produced by private mints. Although I was surprised to see that Perth Mint produced some of these casino tokens. My LCS sells a lot of these tokens for close to melt.
One of the weirdest Perth Mint products I've seen was a 1995 Marilyn Monroe medal set. Typically, Perth Mint produces coins rather than medals. If this is a coin set, I wouldn't be surprised. However this is a medal set, which makes it interesting. www.ebay.ca/itm/1995-Marilyn-Monroe-Hollywood-Film-Legend-3-Coin-Gold-Silver-Set-Perth-Mint-/222628128795?hash=item33d5aba81b:g:CpAAAOSwHn1ZeM0D
You got to remember everyone comes to Vegas to gamble and when they lose they start selling there junk coins and silver & Gold whatever they have they sell and most is junk

Thanks bro!

I've seen the video of that guy's Silver Strike collection. He does have a bigass collection. Thanks bro!
Christopher Sanchez do you happen to know that person's channel?
Do not. I just looked up silver strike tokens and in the videos list it showed a collection.
Christopher Sanchez cool thank you very much for the information!
Cool, I'll see what they go for on eBay. There must be quite a variety from other casinos so chances are good finding a few Pirate themed tokens.

MrMonkeySwag96 Yeah I wouldn't think the Perth mint would do stuff like that

Don't see them here but i do know that one US Ebay seller has been selling them for many years.
That's very interesting. I have never been to a casino, so I have never seen a token either 😎
I don't gamble myself. However you can find these casino tokens at coin shops. Usually these casino tokens sell close to spot. Thanks for watching!
You got to remember everyone comes to Vegas to gamble and when they lose they start selling there junk coins and silver & Gold whatever they have they sell and most is junk
