Thanks for showing how to make the sun rays . I don’t know why other painting tutorials just skip the sunrays part of tutorial. I would love to see more tutorials with different types of landscapes of a sunny day from you.
Wow this is gorgeous! You make it look simple, but it is definitely not! LOL I don't have the talent for that, but I still love the process of painting. Thank you.
my four month old son was laying next to me while I watched this. he was asleep when it started but sometime during the video woke up & towards the end started kicking his feet & squealing with delight. normally I'd never let him focus on the screen but he really loved this! lol thanks for the beautiful paintings & instructions!
I just want to say I really love watching you paint. your work is so beautiful and you explain every thing so well. Thanks so much for sharing and explaining how it's done.
Thank you so much for this 10 minute series! I don't have a lot of painting time these days but still want to be able to learn different techniques. These are so helpful! This one is so beautiful.
I absolutely love your creations, very magical and just what inspires me. Love your vision and then your finished result. Yes, this does stimulate my creativity. Thank you!
I am learning so much from these 10 minute paintings. In the below stats, I would appreciate size of canvas. I have heard you say but I never remember. Great grandma Jules Merry Christmas
I've learnt so much from all these videos and tutorials you do Ryan, they are very useful and I even did my own version of this tutorial which has turned out wonderfully for me ! So thanks to you for these videos !
I just gotta say that the way you say "petals" is adorable, lol. 😁❤ This painting is gorgeous and looks so easy for acrylic beginners to try! I painted in watercolor for 15 years, and I've only been painting in acrylic for about 5. You've taught me some great tips to help tweak my abilities in acrylic painting. Thank you! Your work is beautiful! ~ Jax
I'm so glad I found this channel! I'm trying to pick up painting as a hobby. I think you explain things pretty clearly, and it really inspires me to try your techniques out.
Love it a million and one times over!!! You're such an amazing artist Ryan, and I always love watching you paint. This was awesome (as usual) and so peaceful to watch, and the perfect amount of time to keep an attention span for a short period. Of course, I also appreciate your longer pieces for when there's more time. Anyways, not to ramble on but thanks again! And please keep painting always. Best and happy holidays 😄 🎆❄️
Gorgeous as always but also familiar. It seems like this is the 3rd time you've painted this scene. I assume you were swamped by the holidays like the rest of us & didn't have time to come up with something new. If that's not the case, then please give us more variation next year. Works with off-center focus, rule of thirds or multi point perspective would be really cool. Happy Holidays :)
Haha, you caught me, this is the third time I've used this composition. Repetition is vital (and quite frankly unavoidable) in art. This composition seems to be something that everyone has a real affinity for so I'm trying to complete something similar in each season. Diversity will come (I'm currently working on a waterfall, a sailboat, and the earth) but I will occasionally post some 'fan favorites' with different color schemes as well. I'd also just like to note that this does follow the rule of thirds, both sources of light are (roughly) placed on intersecting lines and the base of the painting only takes up about a third of the piece. The light and branches also act as leading lines. While the painting is similar is does follow the right 'rules' (but lets not forget that while it's great to have rules in art, it's also great to occasionally break them)
love your work it's amazing i recently started painting but i paint on wood can i still use your techniques and advice? or would it not work i use acrylic paint on plywood
This is a beautiful scene. I love it. I commented in your Valentine painting; which I also love very much. I've read the comments here and see that you've mentioned the rule of thirds. Is that rule in your book? I'm going to buy the book; I'm just waiting until I've got the money. Limited income. I want to be able to print it, as well, as I see someone had inquired about that; so, no question there. I'm almost done my very first painting ever. I almost quit and was going to start over but I figured that I'd learn more if I finished and then I'll start over. And I have learned more since. You already gave me the secret of the pink under my other comment. Thank you again for that. I certainly didn't use enough water. There were some mistakes in this first painting that I just couldn't fix but I'm going to start over and incorporate what I've learned. I'm also going to buy your book before starting over. I'm enjoying myself and I can't thank you enough for your help and inspiration. Thank you, Ryan.
It is so beautiful! In China, there is a word called "桃花源" ="the peach blossoms spring," it is a Chinese version of Utopia! Although you are drawing cherry blossom, the picture is so beautiful and reminds me of 桃花源. Thank you so much for sharing! I will try to learn~*Sorry my English is not that good :(
This is beautiful! I'm new to painting and I attempted this one. I had trouble with blending the water and rocks, because my paint kept drying too quickly. Ryan, do you have any videos on painting a realistic looking rainbow?
Working on the rocks with more of a dry brush/under layer may actually aid the painting as it will give the rocks a more rough aesthetic :) In regards to rendering smooth water, I would simply implore you to add more real water to your mixture. It should allow you to blend wet layers over dry layers smoothly. I don't currently have a lesson on rainbows but it is a great idea!

I just want to say I really love watching you paint. your work is so beautiful and you explain every thing so well. Thanks so much for sharing and explaining how it's done.
I love how the blossoms, water, mist, and light magically come into view through the processes....

awesome👏👏
can we use crimson red for the pink ?
A combination of crimson red and white should work :)
Ryan O'Rourke - Artist thanks:)
Ahh man you are the best
Thanks :)
Bit late here, but what do you use for the under drawing/scoring. I've noted in a few pictures you have done that, but no explanation. Thanks
Good question! I use crayola colored pencils. They generally don't dilute brighter pigments like graphite/charcoal
I have some somewhere and pastel pencils. Thank you.
I wouldn't recommend using pastel pencils, they could really dilute your pigments.
Enjoy 10 min paintings tnk u
me gustaria ver la paleta de pinturas cuando estas pintado
Wow
I’m trying this
super 👍👍👍👍🖌🖌🖌👏💕
can I use drawing paper
thanks
Impressive
Thank you ...
what size canvas are you using
I believe this one was 8x10. However, the size shouldn't really matter. Just remember that the larger the canvas the more detail you can incorporate.
the first pink colour mix by what colour
Primary red and titanium white!
what brand you're used to paint this picture?
All of the brushes/paints are listed in the description of this video
which paper u hv used for this painting?
I actually don't use paper when working with acrylics. I use far too much water to do so. Instead I work on canvas or canvas boards.
NICEEEEE!!!!
How do you keep the paint wet?
I always try to ensure that my brush is at least dump. This really helps extend the wet life of the paint :)
thank you.
I don't have titanium white! 😱 Can I use normal white?
You can!
Ryan O'Rourke - Artist thanks
Hello...what colors are your rocks please?
They are a mix of titanium white, mars black and a little pink as the light is reflected from the trees. Hope this helps!
Stay Creative Painting Thank you!!! Helps so much.🙏🏻
