Nice review thank you! I got a Swedish ration recently and have got a 'salted caramel' flavour egg white powder in it. I do not like salted caramel as a flavour anyway and also egg white did not inspire me either. After this I am sure I wont like it 🙂
They do one called Wilderness Stew. I'd try that! 'A wonderfully rich stew with deep Nordic flavors. Clear tastes from the forest pantry such as porcini mushroom and rosemary. The stew also contains reindeer meat, beef, green beans and potatoes. Nordic food in simple format, ready to be enjoyed after ten minutes.'
As retired military officer I rate this mre with those contents as a single meal, compared with military rations from all around the world. Definitely not a 24 hours ration- that’s quite misleading and nasty. The tortillas remember me strongly on us mre. At night you have to take care not to eat the paper from the box instead, it tastes similar 😋 By the way- never use the water from cooking a plastic bag in it. I would just do it when I’m already pretty dehydrated. From your side a good job, thanks for sharing 👍

Yes the tortillas do look like the US mre ones. 😂 Yeah eating the paper would suck. I wouldn’t normally use the water from the bag, but I had a limited supply with me. 1300 calories, that's not even enough for a woman let alone a man. Nothing wrong with your review at all but the company needs to learn basic human food/nutritional/calorific needs for a 24 hour period. That egg white thing.... The bag boldly states that it's a single meal smack in the middle of the main bag shown at the very start of this video, how do you misinterpret that, and then come to the conclusion that this definitely is intended to be a 24 hour ration? *smh*
To everyone commenting their surprise and bewilderment that this isn't a 24 hour ration: I'm sorry but, no shit sherlock? Smack dab in the middle of the main bag is the total calorie count and a statment that it's a single meal in multiple languages, in big fat letters. It's almost like the company (.. whos name is 24 hour meals) expects you to be able to read and understand the contents along with your own daily requirement, like a normal functioning human being. In Sweden, you would fail the mental acuity test and be sent home long before you got a hold on one of these for use in the field as a conscript, sorry not sorry.
I saw at the beginning that it was a single meal/8 hour ration, but I read things before I review them. However, I can see why some people would be confused, as it says in big letters 24 hour meals (yes I know it’s the company name) and the calories are in much much smaller characters. So if you weren’t looking carefully, it would be easy to make a mistake. That being said, purely from the size of the ration, I could tell it wasn’t for a full day. 😊
@@GreeklishOutdoors I agree with your conclusion in all terms. Marketing isn’t happening by incident. People are payed for designing such a package and the layout. The real Swedish military mre is outstanding by the way and a real 24 hour mre. So your review is honest and may help consumers to make the right decisions. For the money you payed you can get a delicious french mre, when you are patient scanning eBay from time to time.
