This is the Star Wars cover you’re looking for: Scandroid takes a Star Wars classic, “The Force Theme” and turns the synths up to 11 in an epic cover to inspire the Jedi within us all. In the words of Obi-Wan Kenobi, “Remember…the Force will be with you, always.”
“I was inspired by artists like Tomita who re-imagined iconic Star Wars themes with synthesizers. I was excited to cover the “The Force Theme” because I wanted to blend classic analog synthesizers with a re-orchestration of the original song. Not only was I influenced by the classic Star Wars films, but I am inspired by the possibilities of the new films. Enjoy this May 4th release and may the Force be with you.” - Klayton
Scandroid returns with the full-length sophomore album Monochrome, available Friday, October 27th. Featuring 13 tracks, from the retro-synth pop hooks of "Afterglow," "Rendezvous," "Future Bloodline," and "A Thousand Years," to the instrumental epics "Oblivia" and "Searching for a Lost Horizon," Monochrome imagines an alternate future where truth is hidden in "Monochrome."
The album includes modern synthwave covers of John Williams’ famous Star Wars opus "The Force Theme" as well as a hauntingly powerful cover of Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" to be released on Friday the 13th of October. The album concludes with a bonus remix of "Thriller" from mysterious synthwave artist/producer PYLOT.
Following the international success of the debut Scandroid album (Top 10 iTunes Electronic Album USA, Russia, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia & #5 Billboard Electronic Album), Monochrome continues the journey of ‘Red’ & ‘Aphelion’ in a cyberpunk storyline set in Neo-Tokyo in the year 2518.

@@lynk3067 Neon One was pretty good though.
Year 2157, lower Neo-Tokyo. Luke buys a pair of second-hand AI hologirls from neurosoma-addicted homeless bums. Once back at his uncle's home, he notices that the hologirls are glitchy, so he takes them to the disaffected warehouse where an old local tech repair man called "Ben" set up his shop. Together, they discover an encrypted message hidden within one hologirl's chip. Ben reveals that he used to be a blackhat hacker fighting against the corporations back in the day, and that Luke's father used to be one until he was betrayed and killed. He decides to train Luke in the art of hacking and gives him his first cybernetic implant. Luke returns home, but notices that his house is ablaze despite the heavy downpour of acid rain falling from the monochrome sky hidden by the towering megaskyscrapers of Neo-Tokyo. He sees the bodies of his uncle and his aunt laying lifeless on the street.
He returns to Ben and together they decide to bring the encrypted datachip to the Underground's leader, but they're soon followed by thugs and bots sent by Darth R. Vader, CEO of EmpireDyne Corporation.
Sooooo did you get a career in writing yet or did you just jizz genius at us for fun?
OK but if the synth girl isn't played by Keanu Reeves I'm not interested.
the acid rain was a nice touch lol
I wish I wrote this...and I'm a writer for crying out loud
Love it, but I would have went with the name name of "Darth V. Ader"
This makes me want to see a cyberpunk-themed Star Wars movie. Incredible as always, Klayton.
Wow, I would watch that.
A cyberpunk movie set in Coruscant
Would be a dream!!
@@monmonstartv5159 That was gonna be the game Star Wars: 1313 before it was cancelled.
It would just be set in Nar Shadda for the entire movie though
Impressive, most impressive...
Indeed...
Yes indeed
You'll find I'm full in suprise
Props to the Doc for showing me this masterpiece. Love it.

I'm just happy to be here before this blows up.
14k views after an hour of being posted. Really awesome! Now let's share it to the masses!
Doctor Octobrist I think Klayton actually answered this question about the other Star Wars cover and said that since every sound was created from scratch, it's protected from copyright claims. Sort of how I could go make a Star Wars fan film and not get attacked for it. I think it's considered a full, original cover. He might've done the same thing for Tragedy and Shout.
It never does lol
Sadly, it never did
As someone whose formative teen years were all in the 1980s, all I have to say is that this is beyond amazing! The nostalgia hits hard with this one.
and I just found this piece, and notice now there are comments here 5-6 years old! What a great piece!
Listen to M83 & star wars.. my tears are becoming.....
A mind blowing star wars remix
I can definitely see this being in some alternate universe of ours where Star Wars was much more Techno-Inspired
I also see a lot of Tron Legacy when I hear this and I am not upset at that in the slightest
If Star Wars and Tron Legacy had a baby, this would be the outcome
May the synth be with you,
This is the wave.

1980's Synth Pop done right!! I am so very impressed!! This literally just gave me a new appreciation for this style of music, thank you for this!!
Thanks :)
Carstuff111 agreed, I always thought I would never fit in in the 80s because of "it's lack of music" but now I never knew 80 synth pop was soooooo fresh!
You're welcome, and not going to lie, and I will say this, not all Synth Pop is good, some of it is absolute garbage. I grew up with a mother that loved almost everything from the 1980's.....and some of that music, more so now, makes my skin crawl. This however, is done right :)
Carstuff111 indubitably 🙋
Ahh, Scandroid is the reason I fell in love with synthwave :)
This genre fits perfectly for Star Wars! ❤
"The Force will be with you. Always."
Fantastic version! Normally i'm sick of covers of SW... but Klayton's version here and for Imperial March a few years ago are top of the bunch!
Dude..same but, I also recently heard some of this band's covers of star wars and they were siiicck too. they're called Galactic Empire. They're Metal though so if you're not into metal then definitely don't check out. lol
Yes! Galactic Empire is awesome! This is still killer stuff, too.
DarthAzrel yes!
being-being can you give me a link to Imperial March cover that you're talking about?
@@Gioyaf yes yes does anybody have the link for imperial march
I have listend to many SW covers. Most of them sound pretty simular. But this.... oh boy Klayton turns everything upside down into his own amazing creation
Impressive, most impressive! Obi wan has taught you well...
Better than most other Star Wars Covers.
Wow, beautiful. I'm sure there's gonna be some people who preferred to have a vocal song, but IMO, this works better this way. Though I don't deny that if this was made by CoD it would have been pretty badass.
I think he should just do a CoD cover of Duel of the Fates next year/two years. I prefer this over an over the top version of the song.
circle of dust or call of duty? i sure hope you mean the first.
I'm hoping Circle of Dust as well haha.
Call of duty would be COD, idk anyone who types call of duty with a small o
alot of people do, since the o from of is lower case lmao
Beyond awesomeness.
this is gonna blow up for you. next do the cantina song
He covered the Imperial March as Celldweller, the Force theme as Scandroid...so next year he just HAS TO cover the cantina song as Circle of Dust. :D
Which was also super sick!!
ah nice. i like that imperial march but wish it was all instrumental with no vocals like this is.
angeltread There is an instrumental version of it ;)
of the celldweller one? help me out.
It's like being transported back to my childhood. There's something simply fantastic about the way Synth music makes you FEEL. So much of today's music has no emotion or sense of identity compared to love letters to the past like modern synth is. I'm so glad 80's style synth is getting a resurgence of late, and remixing Star Wars is certainly a good way to bring it to the masses!
The synth is strong in this one.
Kinda reminds me of Crypt of the Necrodancer in star wars kind of way!
love it.
Love scandroid, and everything Celldweller has put out to this date.
May the fourth be with you!
And just when I thought Star Wars and Scandroid couldn't get any better, they combined.
I kid you not, this is accually the best thing to come out' Star Wars for years. Counting the two last movies.
that moment when your mixtape is actually fire
Indeed, the force is strong with thee..a worthy opponent you will become Scandroid...
Still my favorite synth track to this day.
*Scandroid has just gotten an infinite amount of times better, which I didn't even think was possible!-*
I can completely hear this playing somewhere like a club on Nar Shaddaa. Awesome cover.
Came here from Dr. Disrespect. Lifetime starwars freak. This will forever be on my playlist
You know the song is gonna be good when it gives you chills in the first 5 seconds ^^
Better than i even imagined
Yes Anakin, give in to the wave, THE SYNTHWAVE!!!!
Happy May the 4th everyone!
Hi, I'm a graphic designer and I'm currently working for a site made by a star wars fan for star wars fans. I create listening obviously of music extracted from the soundtrack of star wars, original or remixed versions. I browse youtube looking for cover to motivate me and share my lives on Facebook, and now I fall on your remix of rare quality! Bravo, for this phenomenal piece! Breathtaking synths, incredible electro sounds and explosive rhythm! May the force be with you !
Scandroid will sure be famous one day! As big as Skrillex was, this guy is inovating in another level!
Skrillex is like a baby when compared to the divinity of Klayton.
Felipebridi Not sure if you're joking or not but he's already famous lol
He is famous, but not in the same level as Skrillex, for exemple. Just wait and see, this guy is creating
tendencies.
Klayton's been around since 1992.... Circle of Dust, Celldweller, Scandroid...etc ..
being-being I'm pretty sure that he started Circle of Dust in 1988.
Everything Bret touches turns to gold.
May the force be with you
The force will be with you, always
Still the greatest force theme remix
2 time brought me here, thank you!
Dr. Disrespect. The Legend. It's because of him that I found this absolutely brilliant music. Sounds fantastic!
1:54 - 2:02 --- the part I really enjoyed and that made me listen through the whole track!
Yeah big up the doc
the TWO TIME!
Just heard this epic piece and shit.. im blown to a galaxy far far away in the mid 80s.. MASTERPIECE indeed.. this has made not only my day but my weekend!
One of the best Star Wars covers I have ever heard!
Master Scandroid, the force is strong with you.
There's only one thing wrong with this.
It came out on May the 3rd.
Oh yeah. Goddamnit.
Here in Brazil it is May the 4th
@George Wright 15 hours, from me, but yeah, basically
"Nooooo! It was the chosen one! "
@@yamaslushy9461 There are two sides of the International Date Line, just as there are two sides of the Force
Never was a fan of Synth, then a friend introduced me to Kavinsky. Fast forward a year and I'm introducing him to Scandroid :)
I'd love it if your work managed to make it into the credits music for one of the new films
Can't wait to rock this in stromtrooper armor with the 501st
Literally got goose-bumps on the outro.
HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING!
The Doc brought me to this legendary piece of music. My goodness, perfection.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... Dr.... Dissssss... Respect.. spect spec.... told me to seek you out
May the Fourth be with you !
Oh, how this brings two different nostalgai(?) together. One of Star Wars, and the other of retro synth.
Just absolutely awesome! And yes, I'm watching in August 2017.
Haha a friend send it to me. I ran straight to the car to cruise with it on repeat. A goddamn masterpiece! Thank you kind sir
My ears are bleeding by the immerse epicness. Or the headphones blasting it through and into my brain.
synth will never die
Oussama Rahil til the power goes out
So, today another day to listen this masterpiece. May the 4th be with you guys
The Force Theme... Many have tried to make it rock, pop, techno, and so on, But one thing many miss, is that you need to keep the theme whole. No matter the format, You should be able to keep the Force Theme as it was written, with any instrument,.
You have done this. I thank you.
Now I will need to pay you for a copy :)
_The synth will be with you... Always._
Absolutely love it. A job very well done.
Strong the force, with you is.
Saving this in a playlist for a Star War TTRPG I am going to run in the future this is fantastic I am sure John Williams approves.
Found this due to it coming on Pandora, never heard it before, but instantly loved it.
Just visualize myself mashing the gas on an open desert road the sun fading away in the distance behind the mountains with this blasting as it takes me to wherever the road takes me...
Love it so amazing. I'm a 80's kid and Scandroid was the first and one of the best if not the best groups to recapture the 80's i have ever heard. This great rendition of the force theme cements Scandroid as the best by far on my book. Thanks Klayton for another amazing song. Keep them coming keep it alive man!!
My mom had an 8track tape call "Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk" and this is reminding me of it so bad.
I feel the force!
scandroid ... how could i missed that till tha day and age?
Here we go!
Isso é simplesmente perfeito
This is amazing. It sends shivers down my spine.
May the Force be with this masterpiece.
a movie from 1977 with 80's sounds --> genius!!!!
That is the cover we're looking for !
The force is strong in this one
May the fourth be with you.
Whatever the force does, this is greatest They can Do!!
INSANE. This is the best thing I've ever heard
Just. WOW.
"Wake the f**k up, Jedi... we got a Sith Lord to burn."
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan moments before they met young Anakin...
I'm actually amazed by this synth cover. As soon as I heard it, I was in full Star Wars spirit again, ready for the Last Jedi...
Now I want a whole edit of all of the Star Wars films with synthwave music added in and the color palette of every shot changed to look like Blade Runner just for the heck of it.
ODRIKAH KUN dude
The synth is strong with this one
I love Scandroid even more for doing this.
Elizibar wanted me to hear this. I can see why. Thanks Scandriod and Elizibro, this is mah jam!
OOOk i wasn't ready ! sooo cool
The win is strong with this one....
God I love Scandroid even more now.
