    Recently got into Sim Racing and I have the Playseat Trophy as well, and your mods are a great inspiration to me. Keep it up! Keen to see what kind of a mod monster this rig will end up being.

    So what mods are you doing next? Fun to follow along before I build my own rig.

      I think I'm gonna do wind simulation and rumble pedals on my portable wheel stand rig next, just cuz it's fun. :)

    i think it like the ac or just having the air on in the car for me. it was pretty cool i made one to from youtube videos. i see the bass shaker hell ya them are sweet too. i got one under my seat and pedals with simhub you can do so much. nice video

      Thank you much! Yes, sim hub is making this stuff so fun. I did the bass shakers first, then wind simulation. Then since I already had the Arduino Uno and motor shield, I gutted a PS4 controller and used the rumble motors on my pedals. I'm 3D printing better brackets for them today and will do a video on that when it's all wrapped up. Rumble pedals are fantastic for wheel spin and wheel lock/ABS feedback. Fun stuff!

    Hi, I would like to ask you a short question. Where do you connect the WindSim USB cable to? Do I need a seperate PC to drive al this on my Playstation and GT7?

    • @DigitalRelay
      @DigitalRelay  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, the fans are driven by the Arduino Uno with motor control. The Arudino Uno is plugged into a separate PC running Windows and Simhub with the USB cable. It's a little confusing, but while driving, GT7/PS5 broadcasts the telemetry data over your local network. Simhub running on a separate Windows PC receives that telemetry data and uses it to tell the wind simulation, rumble pedals, and bass shakers what to do. You can also use Simhub to drive dash boards, flag displays, seatbelt tensioners, motion rig, etc.

      @@HDRinki11 If you like to tinker and have some patience, I think you'll really enjoy figuring out how to make it all work, and enjoy using it while racing. Best of luck, my friend!

      This sounds great. Hope you’re using VR that’d be next level

      @@REDEEL16 I tried using PSVR2 for six months, but it wasn't a great fit for me. I always felt like I was trying to find the sweet spot for focus and that was distracting. When they come out with PSVR3, I'll give it another go.

    seems kinda laggy

    • @DigitalRelay
      @DigitalRelay  9 місяців тому

      That’s kind of the nature of moving air, so yeah

      @@DigitalRelay ? I can make a small fan start or stop almost instantly... But you've stopped the car for quite a while before your fan stops, and it doesn't start until your car has been going for a while.
      Also my kid was wondering, what's the point? Are you simulating driving with the windows down? lol

    • @DigitalRelay
      @DigitalRelay  9 місяців тому

      No, I’m not trying to simulate reality of driving with the wi does down. It’s a form of feedback, which can be helpful with immersion, and it’s practical to keep you cool. But hey, if it’s not for you, that’s cool to just move on.

    • @oneillam1990
      @oneillam1990 9 місяців тому

      @@DigitalRelay I'm just wondering what the point is though. What valuable feedback is it giving you, especially if it's laggy?

    • @DigitalRelay
      @DigitalRelay  9 місяців тому

      For me, it adds a sense of speed. Does it simulate how it feels to be in a car driving at speed? No. But it does something to enhance the feeling of speed. Does it give precise, accurate feedback? No. It's definitely NOT like force feedback in a wheel, or rumble motors on a pedal, or haptic transducers shaking the rig. Those all give more valuable feedback. Wind sim is more vague. The bigger the fan, the longer it takes to get going and to slow down, so there will be inherent lag. So I use the word "feedback" in a loose sense with wind simulation. Maybe it's just not for you. Or maybe get in a rig sometime that has it so you can experience it. The cooling effect is also valuable.
