Personally, I enjoy Personal Time more than any of your other videos, because it has more long term entertainment and information than anything else you make. But that's just my opinion
Better Than Wolves is an interesting Total conversion mod for Minecraft. It adds a lot of hardcore modes, such as Hardcore spawning, Hardcore beds, and Hardcore movement. Which basically means you can't spawn in the same place twice, you can't sleep in a bed to skip nights, and your movement speed depends on the material you are walking on.
The Farlands were removed accidentally during a terrain generation update, and the world doesn't wrap around now. The engine does act very, very strange when you get to the end, though. You have screen tearing, ridiculous lag, and items you can't pick up, among other things. Eventually, it's just a phantom image that you fall down through until you die.
Technic is funnest when at a LAN party with a team of 3 or 4 people. The coolest aspect for me and my friends, was working to making a huge industrial foundry, that had huge quarries all around. We would work to a goal at first together, where we would attempt to make the quarries so fast and massive, and create the specialised power generation methods, that the system would become self sufficient. We would create Goliath sorting machines that would just feed into Alchemist chests or Super chests. After this point, when we had limitless energy, and an endless source of matter and materials, we would then work on all the other aspects of the game. The best run we had (We've played it every May since we started) went for 2 weeks, and at one point we had been going for 72 hours straight. We HAD to stop playing, because the server just couldn't keep up anymore. None of us had a machine that could keep up with the RAM requirements, nor did we have a fifth, dedicated machine for the server. So it got to a point where the game was so active, and bloated, because we had been playing for so long, that the server lag and draw distance was unmanageable. We didn't start on a fresh world, because we had pretty much done everything, It had been 2 weeks, and the 72 hour run was the very last leg of our incredible journey. We were burnt out. But it was so worth it. Thats why we play it again and again, each May.
I've been really getting into TerraFirmaCraft lately, and it seems to be surprisingly light on resource usage for how drastically it changes the game. Maybe that could be an idea for a modded server? With a few addons of course, like Decorations and TerraMisc.
God, haven't thought about minecraft in awhile. Kinda makes me miss making giant builds and fun things like that. Half tempted to get back into it, issue is there is little point in building some awesome large cool thing if you can't share it with others IMO.
Spigot is a more optimized version of bukkit and is being updated by the Spigot guys. Downloads for the server jars can be found at Yive's Mirror. tcpr.ca/
I tried running spigot, which was pretty good performance-wise, at least in comparison to the vanilla server, so that might be worth a try if you're running into performance issues. It still wasn't good enough to run the server on my raspberry pi with more than 2 people on it though. I also tried MCServer (C++ based), which ran fluently, but the map generator diverged too much from vanilla minecraft for my taste. I haven't checked on it in quite a while, maybe they fixed it.
What is the ip of the pony minecraft server where you can play as a dragon? Even if no one is on anymore it sounds like it would be interesting to explore.
Hey Greg, great video as always! Anyways, do you or anyone else know the name of the guy who makes those terrible mine craft animations? I think I need to experience it beyond just hearing about it
Can I, like, bribe you with the prospect of megeprojects to tell me your servers IP? Cuz when I play minecraft I like to make giant empires and such, my favorite was probably either the 256 block wide, five tiered ring sky city, or the obsidian tower in dark forest evil empire.
I got the game in 1.7.3 and realised a whole year later that the building and crafting wasnt what interested me. The biggest turn off of that game was STORAGE. , inventory is full, head back, build like 6 more chests, go out again, come back, more chests, go out...repeat, repeat, aaand now I need another house just for more chests. Theres only a few mods that fix this as well, the backpakcs make the problem more obvious and the increased storage chests eventually run out too, the only solution was this infinite storage chest mod that let you type into a search bar, search for items. Rant aside, yeah, good game.
I think Greg is thinking, "Man! I wish I had those subsribers and views!". Also, there are two kinds of people, those who can play and talk simultaneously, and those who basically can't. I can, but whenever I talk to my sis while she is doing anything, she just yells at me for interrupting her.
lets play videos would not be the same without minecraft. 80% of all lets players today gained a lot of fans while they made their first baby steps with minecraft. even lets players who never made a minecraft video, owe their fame from errors and lessos learned by others who previously made minecraft videos, looking at them and learning what NOT to do, while instead focussing on transformative improvisation. cutest relevant minecraft lp is by sweetie belle voice actress: ClaireCoaCoaNutz
Yo dude, just look up Feed The Beast. It's really the only way to play Minecraft if you've got it. I've currently got a FTB Infinity Evolved server running 24/7.
What blows my mind about Minecraft is how god-awful the modding tools are. You'd think being a game carried by mods and largely played by young kids, it would be easy to mod, but no. First google result is a page that claims it's outdated. Okay. Second result informs me that you STILL have to decompile the game and mod it in Java. Fuck that, reading other people's Java code is one of the most unpleasant activities mankind can perform.
Ooh, I used to play on that pony Minecraft server. It was fun, I built a super way way too big mine thing.
What was the ip? Is the server still up? I wanna try playing on that server
So what I'm getting out of this is...Greg is very serious about roleplaying as a dragon.
Personally, I enjoy Personal Time more than any of your other videos, because it has more long term entertainment and information than anything else you make. But that's just my opinion
Greg: dragon of puzzle hordes
As a 3D animator I can confirm that making a character out of cubes is about as easy as it comes.
Aw, i didnt know you had a server, i would love to join sometime.
Ah, I remember Kurt's farlands series, those sure were the times.
For me this video is watching literally all my opinions on Minecraft come out of Gregs mouth.
Absolutely magical.

Great episode! The ending was a bit abrupt, but you are really on to something there.

I remember the first time I heard about Minecraft. It was back in late 2010 in the 'ol alpha days.Good times.
Greg sempai will you ever notice me? I am your biggest fan! I even have a Greg tulpa
You shouldn't base tulpas off of real people, they will feel that they can never live up to it
I wish Minecraft worlds wrapped around.
Damn your ethics! if you were less scrupulous you could get a million views.

Normal people could not fly, while a chosen few could, and built cities in the sky? What is this, the Kingdom of Zeal?
Was that The Creatures you watched? Their original Minecraft series.
What about FTB (Feed the Beast) servers? The amount of extra content in those is insane.
Greg, you should look into Feed The Beast modpacks, they do have some crazy mod packs, as well as enhanced Vanilla packs
