If you need more help to convince him, then maybe a family that moved from Chicago to Denmark can help you out. They have lived here for some years now and have started making some really good UA-cam videos.
      ua-cam.com/channels/bUKQV-6l9eibUvJ5xrI-NQ.html
They have made videos ranging from traveling around Denmark to talking about a basic look at taxes (comparing US and DK) and also videos talking about how they feel that some of the digital systems here make life easier and less stressful.
If there is something in particular you are interested in I can try and see if I can link some specific videos.

Oh by the way, you do know that our two nations (Canada and Denmark) are at war right? (Hans Island)

I think the best way to describe Danes is using the English word "Unpretentious".
You may have discovered that Danes in general work to live, they don't live to work.
The free time is actually very important to Danes.
I have to admit that we Danes can come around as being very reserved, but if you manage to make friends with a Dane, you have a friend for life.

    • @JackieEm

Rice porridge is either 1)"Risengrød" -rice boiled in cream milk for 30-40 minutes and with a pinch of salt added in the end. Served hot with butter in the middle and strewn with cinnamon and sugar or 2) Ris-a-la-mande (which despite its pretentious french-sounding name meaning "almond-rice" is a Danish invention )which is risengrød which has been cooled and then mixed with whipped cream and chopped almonds and vanilla. Served cold with sweet cherry sauce.

7:51 Shawarma - It is beef filet marinated in all spice cumin coriander and other spices, stacked onto a big 3 feet skewer that rotates inside a vertical gas grill. Like a vertical chicken rotisserie. Then they cut meat off of it from the outside in, and put it in a circular flat bread, with lettuce tomatoes and a creme fraiche dressing, then roll it up in tin foil.

Thank you for your kind review of Denmark. I think that everyone who leaves their family to travel experiences a little loneliness - especially if you're not “on the road” a lot if that makes sense. If you're traveling around and seeing a lot, you don't have time to be lonely. Well, that's my experience anyway... You're right about Denmark not being diverse as such, though there are areas in and around Copenhagen where you can meet different cultures. You should always try to find your favorite cuisine wherever you go, I always look for Vietnamese food, when I travel. Be it Berlin, Mallorca or Kristianstad, I always have an eye out for Vietnamese food.

And yes, it wasn’t that diverse but I discovered shwarmas in Copenhagen and they were amazing!! Probably one of my favorite street foods I’ve had there. You seem very experienced with traveling...love it 😍

2:01 *Finland* is rated the "happiest" country?! We, their neighbours to their West always think of them as dour and hard to enthuse. But they probably like being that way, so there's that.
Of the Nordic countries, Denmark was probably a wise choice for an American.
3:50 As to Danes being well organised... I think that depends. They have the image of being the "chill" Scandis, but then again they are the closest to Germany, which is super-organised. There are also considerable regional differences, even within tiny Denmark. (I am from Norway, and I think Denmark is TINY, and flat! Even though our population is smaller.)

You mentioned missing Mexican food; the grocery stores here have a "Mexican" isle. So if you are willing to cook for yourself, and you stay in an urban area, you can find what you need.
Speaking of urban; I'm a town-dweller, so I only consider *rural* Norway to be the exotic Norwegian experience. As a kid, I used to dislike staying in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere during holidays. It *has* grown on me, but I still can't be bothered; indoor plumbing and electricity is just too convenient! But if you feel like embracing solitude and silence, that can be found in many parts of Norway, with pretty scenery, too.
