PlantMilk There are a lot of producers out there not just on youtube who makes fire with having little to no knowledge on music theory. It's all in their heads, man. Your ideas will do the music. Me? I have no idea what music theory is, and I'm planning to learn, but people asked me if I studied, because I make decent songs, I guess, that's what they say, hahaha!
You said in the Kyle Beats Podcast, that in the past you wanted to make music for movies. I would like to see you making some extremely epic movie score.
Yes please Professor Simon, any tutorials would be welcome. Topics of chord placements, EQ, must know drum patterns, throw in an electric guitar. Thanks for this one. You're a born teacher.
anchor notes are the "key" to good classic rock and blues organ performances. I like the term "crunchy" that you used in reference to the a-harmonics in the DmSus4. I'm going to use that. Thx for the video, friend
@@ServidaMusic I mean he's not wrong, you have a very intuitive way of teaching this material. I mean other people do it, but you DO IT better, I think Mr. West may be right about your raw potential. But long term do what makes you happy... do you want to work with other large artists/producers/ industry professionals, or do you want to teach music theory and other aspiring artists/producers. Rhetorical question but just to get ya thinking
Nickolas B I’m so excited to see where he takes his brand, he really does have the potential both as a person and as a musician to be successful at whatever he wishes to be:)
I wish producers (especially on UA-cam) would openly encourage others to study theory. So many instances of guys saying "you don't need theory, just make it sound good" or something of the sort aren't helping many of new guys watching "how to trap for beginners" tutorials. Do they know that what generally constitutes as 'good' is theory itself? I hope so, because without it they'll waste so much valuable time fiddling on MIDI keyboards that the idea fades. Learning it accelerated my workflow and helped expand my creativity, definitely recommend to anyone to pick up a book and study, the benefits trump the negatives (if there really is any downside) of studying music theory. Great video!
Very accurate man. I’m trying to do more of this as well on my channel with theory. Most producers are really missing out. When you have the theory it’s so much easier than guessing what can possibly sound good.
AYE BRUH, Would you be able to make a video that says "How To Make Your Drums&Percs More Interesting"? Kinda like that 808 video you got but with drums instead? Your percussive elements are always super dope bro.
Yessssssssir, thanks for the video. Theory always helps, even if u click the notes in fl. Better to know what u click and how to click to make it sound good, instead of making random decisions and correcting the notes over and over
Really helpful that you give us the notes being played, sometimes it’s really hard to find the exact notes being played in the chords.I just finished Music Theory last qtr so this is also really helpful to understand how songs are composed. This is now one of my most favorite videos that I’ve watched. Thanks for the breakdown and the info, greatly appreciated and would definitely like to see more in this and other genre’s.
great help my request is advanced drum patterns with like different core rhythms for trap similar to drill or eestbound and wondagurl but specifically what makes these unique and advanced grooves please Servida
The bass line of sicko mode is totally different, not to mention that the intro is a sample, so the original producer may have no idea of the chord progressions. Still interesting and informative, thanks for sharing
Thanks Simon! I actually have a decent knowledge of music theory but I don't really know how to implement it into beat making since I'm classically trained but this video has helped me!
You should make flipping famous hip-hop samples a biweekly series. I'd love to see how you would flip I Love It or Lucid Dreams. Btw, you've earned yourself a new subscriber. :)
Fun fact: The "Organ Sound" on the first beat of sicko mode is actually "Sound 62: Waw Voice" on the Casio Toy Keyboard model SA-21
🙏
@@nonami_066xswqoqowiwl ok doggo lol
I knows its 2 years later but i knew it sounded familiar
They most likely used the Kontakt Factory Library to get the sound, but still cool either way. NI probably just sampled the SA-21
wow, no one gonna talk about this man's fresh new cut
*aight*
