A square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. Fun Fact: “Suds” was actually recorded when Tom Kenny was actually sick but still powered through his lines. Despite the studio saying it was ok for him to rest and get better. Tom decided to use it for his advantage to record his lines as Sick SpongeBob.

I like how sometimes Patrick gives good advice to SpongeBob and other times he's a bad influence
I've forgotten about so many of these episodes over the years, so these reviews are a fun nostalgia trip! Slightly scary story related to falling asleep with your hair wet. I once had a coworker who randomly started getting rashes/blisters when holding cups of iced coffee, so she scheduled a doctor's appointment to try and figure out what was going on. Before the appointment came, she went to sleep one night with wet hair and the fan on, and woke up with hives and barely able to breath. When she went to the ER she found out she has a rare condition called cold urticaria, literally an allergy to cold that can develop randomly. So at least if you're as unlucky as my coworker, going to sleep with wet hair can legitimately be dangerous
SB-129: SpongeBob season 1 episode 29. This is the series code. And by the way, one of the rare moments when time travel happened without plot holes.😅

I assume they’re going by airing order rather than packaging order, since The Chaperone/Employee of the Month aired in March 2000.
It’s hard to find the exact order, i see like 4 different lists online of what episodes to follow. So for future seasons, i go on wikipedia and just follow the episode order that it says there

If the Krusty Krab closes at Six and Spongebob always arrives at work at 3 am to count the sesame seeds, and if he comes in every day except Sunday and works at a rate of 8.50 an hour, with a paycheck every two weeks, Spongebob makes $1,326 every paycheck which seems feasible given the Krusty Krabs revenue. So that explains why Spongebob owns his own house still, has a massive library and all kinds of extremities.

I love the hidden implication that the reason Spongebob and Patrick assume Squidward likes jellyfishing so much is because he is the one who invented it.
SB-129's concept is absolutely hilarious. The episode's funniest moments are the Surprised SpongeGar face, the "FUTURE!!" line, and the part when Squidward ends up in the middle of nowhere and we see the word "alone" a bunch of times. Although, the way they have him get back into the time machine is lazy writing. Definitely a very enjoyable episode with some pretty funny moments.
The alone scene. Scared me as a kid. Still does to this day. Being alone is cool. But being alone in a place with absolutely nothing around is terrifying.

SB-129 was one of the funniest episodes of Season 1. It’s ridiculous fun involving Squidward trying to get away from SpongeBob in every way possible, but he soon realizes being alone is no fun.

Fun Fact: in "Karate Choppers" when Sandy is gonna use the hot sauce on Spongebob, the face in the drop is Tom Kenny, Spongebob's voice actor. Krabs firing Spongebob just for handling his personal karate business with Sandy was a little extreme in my opinion. I mean, you're his employer. Your not the boss of his entire life. It couldn't have been hard to just say, "Don't practice that shit at work" and call it a day
I don't know if you've heard of the theory that in karate choppers the whole episode when spongey and sandy are doing karate that they are being used in place of an overly sexually active couple and Karate is an allegory for sex which isn't as crazy as you'd think considering how sandy springs on SpongeBob as soon as he gets home and spongey changes into gear for "safety first", the fact SpongeBob calls sandy at night for karate, sandy getting more adventurous with the hot sauce and the fact spongey was letting the idea of karate with sandy impact his job to the degree it did and of course let's not forget the whole Mr Krabs sniffing both SpongeBob and sandy and mumbling about them being mammals thing.

There were a lot of memes that came from SB-129. Although, in the episodes defense it’s one of the best episodes. The “FUTURRRRRE” scene is one of my favorite memes, and I like how in the episode everything is chrome in the future. In fact, I keep predicting myself that in the year 2053, everything will be chrome. 😅
Fun blind-and-you'll-miss-it detail, that drivers license lists Spongebob's birthday as July 14th 1986, making him 13 years old at time of Season 1 (Krabs out here breaking labor laws). That would make him 37 today, assuming he is even allowed to age.
They all blame Spongebob for bothering their dreams but it was actually Mrs Puff who started all that by bothering Spongebob's Dream

That time travel episode reminds me of Tom Campbell's theory that the only reason anything exists, or happens, is to teach you how to be more loving. That's how squid got home only after learning his lesson. The same thing happens in near death experiences when people go to hell. They only get out once they call for God. Who is love himself.
